Linda - I haven't seen a website listed to check out although if there was one - I certainly would.
I did look up Workers World Party - you are right, they are socialists but I don't see anything about them being organizers, just supporters. Their site is a bit idealistic but...
::They are socialists, anti-capitalists, Marxist; and God only know what else.::
...might be a little strong. It's not like they are dog kicking, firebombing, baby rapers. I think we all know that communism is a overwhelming failure and although their are a few countries hanging on with their last breath to it;s tattered remains.
I'm just curious....what exactly was the great evil of the concept behind communism? True the realities of the countries which tried to implement it were problematic (I'm being nice, I know) but what are the actual evils of the concept?

Linda don't answer questions, she just preaches.
So don't you go being a communist, Marxist, Leninist, Trotskyist, Leftist, Anarchist, Antidisestablismentarianist. You will be doing the devils work at bringing down the 'free' world.
Beware the RED PERIL,
ADVANCE CAVEAT EMPTOR, better dead than red.
Gees’ Do all Americans hate ALL communist countries?
Now, if dubya had a brother who was in the UN, he could reject all votes from anyone with any
Cuumyanist Fillyeashuns in order to gain a ‘mandate’. (Democracy???)

Here's a few more:
The Kurds had it coming - they protested against their government.
Saddam - Just tell the world where you keep all your "disappeared" - at Neverland Ranch.
Saddam - Give your Iraq-Iran War POWs back their ears as a show of good faith.
Iraq accidentally invaded Kuwait due to deceptive American-produced roadmaps.
It was ok for the Clinton administration to bomb Iraq - that's different.

France, Germany, & Russia have nothing to hide in Iraq (such as evidence of support for Iraq's outlawed nuclear program provided during the past 12 years.)
There are no weapons of mass destruction in Iraq - uh, except the proscribed missiles & chemical warheads the inspectors found. (Maybe some other stuff, too, once it's found)
There is no Hell; there is only France - Frank Zappa
Saddam's favorite book is Hitler's "Mein Kampf" - It's my favorite, too!

neonmania,
Regarding: "I did look up Workers World Party - you are right, they are socialists but I don't see anything about them being organizers, just supporters. Their site is a bit idealistic but..."
"The New York Times has belatedly acknowledged that some of the organizers of the January18th "anti-war" rally in Washington were communists. The Times admitted that "Some of the group's chief organizers are active in the Workers World Party, a radical Socialist group...."
"one of the major organizers of these protest marches as well as those in San Francisco, the International ANSWER (Act Now to Stop War and End Racism). However, it failed to inform the reader that this organization is a front group for the Communist Workers World Party...."

Bones - OK. When I went to the site, they made no claims of organizing and I was not going to make the leap without something other than a strong suspicion - hanks for the update.
I actually still see their political affilition somewhat irrelevent to the unltimate cause.

Bones - Sorry - I apologize profusely and beg forgiveness for the typo in my post. Are we really that nit picky?
Ultimate cause of the rally would be voicing ones desire for an avoidance of war (did that determination really elude you?).
Political affiliation irrelevant because it is a universal issue. They were not protesting to further the cause of communism. They weren't signing people up for their Commie Card, they merely organized an event which enabled people of differing beliefs to come together and demonstrate for a common cause.

Relax about the typo! We all make mistakes. I thought maybe it was a new word...
I know they were protesting the war...
and that's fine.
There are some underlying Communist connections, though, which are not "irrelevent"
...they were one of the Chief Organizers of the events as the stated in the links.
And who wants to bet they didn't sign anybody up?
---------------------------------------------
Guess we just have a difference of opinion here as to how relevent this is.
---------------------------------------------
And from your earlier post to Linda,
"Take my hand, let me introduce you to the middleground..."
There really is NO middleground between Capitalism and Communism/Socialism IMHO.

Thanks for those links, bones. It's greatly appreciated and helps to prove that I don't come on here and make false accusations.
Great picture bear.
From the 'about me' page of the Workers World Party:
What is our basic view? We're for socialism.
The capitalist profit system is unplanned and irrational. It's wrecking the world.
The competition for markets produces devastating wars and environmental destruction.
So our goal is a society run by the workers, not just as pawns in a capitalist political game but as collective owners of the social wealth.
[b]We're independent Marxists[b]....
