Of course I never saw payment after he got back from "Africa" either. The item? A 3.00 paperback book that I eventually negged him for, then he negged me back.

Guess I blocked it out until now, but I too had a pair of "fingerpointers". Husband bid on the item, I send EOA, no response. 10 days pass, I send email. "On road, Wife handles this stuff, email her." Okay, email the wife (like this is my responsibility). Wife says husband never told her and to email HIM.
Back and forth and back and FORTH.
Apparently husband has laptop on the road but isn't allowed a checkbook.
I got this same thing as a bidder from a seller who sent Val the wrong sized fatigues (48 waist does NOT fit the same as 32). "Wife is in charge of shipping. Her fault. " "Husband didn't tell me which to ship." (So you can't ask, even by email?) After a couple more emails like that, they then blamed the BIDDER who received Val's fatigues in error (!). A month later Val finally got the right ones.

I sent a NPB alert, got this seven minutes afterwards.
Hi I just got the message about the items and I am going to send the payment put to you, but unfortunately I have to wait until Friday. Usually I am pretty good about these things but since I got your check back in the mail because of improper postage you would not believe the week I have had. I am not making excuses really all of this is true. Our first car broke down, the engine died. Our second car needed over two hundred dollars worth of work. We had a flood in our basement. We had a pestilence problem in our kitchen. I maxed out our credit card just to get by this week so any payment I would have sent you would have bounced because of all of these unexpected emergencies. You can plan for one in a week but four isexcessive. Anyway, I would never dream of insulting you by sending you a check that was going to bounce after you have been so patient.I should have contacted you sooner. I will send you the payment in a money order on Friday if you can cash them up there. If not let me know and I will send you a check on Wednesday that will be good for you to cash on Friday. I am so sorry. Please forgive me as I said I am not usually like this but it has been a hell of a week. Thanks (deleted)
Keeps on buying, getting +FB and hasn't paid me for two low value items. This buyer posted +FB for me even though I wasn't paid.

"There was a problem with the automatic deposit of my paycheck into the bank, I'll send payment next week." (This excuse, BTW, was for an $8.00 item & I had already waited for 3 weeks for her to pay.)
"My car got stolen".
All this & I've only completed a little over 100 sales on Ebay. & I'm not even mentioning all the "I forgot's". I'm sure you powersellers out there have some "howlers"!!! That pirhana thing was too much!!! (the one after that, about the postman, was pretty darned funny too!!)

I received this excuse on the 13th of this month for an auction that ended in June. 19 of us got this on the same day. She has never stopped bidding, infact she won 3 today.
"I was on my honey-moon, and then had a bad accident. We will be ok, except that we will not be able to work for a couple of months. It is for this reason that I will be unable to pay for the merchandise that I ordered from all of you."

I don't remember many from my previous adventures as a seller, but this one stands out: (and I may not get these in exact order, times are inexact, it's been awhile)
(three days after auction) Payment is on its way.
(eight days after auction) Yes, I sent it.
(20 or so days after auction) My computer has been down. Sorry.
(A few days later) I did not bid on that auction, I just looked at it. It must have been a computer glitch when I looked at it, it thought I bid.
(The last straw) My teenaged daughter must have gotten my password.
Sure, lady. The money order was in the mail, but it never came; your computer was down, but you were still bidding; you didn't bid on the auction, but you sent payment anyway ...and last, but not least.....
Your teenaged daughter was bidding on an old magazine featuring pinups of Shaun Cassidy and Parker Stevenson??????? What does she have, a grandpa fetish?
We had to cut this lovely work-of-fiction in progress short, as eBay at the time only allowed 30 days to leave a neg....

I took my 'puter apart to add additional RAM. Forgot to turn power off. My parakeet was out of its cage and flew into the computer causing a short circuit and "frying" itself. I won't be able to pay until I am done grieving.
