Jalisco is a wonderful state. Guad. has as much culture as DF and far less crime. I went to a wedding last year in Yahualica de Gonzales, which is a little town NE of Guad. in the Los Altos region. What a great town!
I'm wondering though, who told you it snows in Monterrey? It hardly ever even freezes...

Forgot to mention, Guadalajara has a sizeable expat community also, good place to get your bearings and make contacts...

I have a friend that has a small ranch near Monterrey, I think I got the idea from pics he was showing me of the family out riding in the snow.
I heard about the large expat community in Guad but to tell you the truth, I want to emerse. My spanish improves a lot faster and well... I kinda want to get out of my comfort zone and see what happens. I do have a couple friends that live in the area that I can call if I start to lose it. They are also the ones that will be giving the final thumbs up on whatever area I decide to move into. Hopefully they'll keep me from moving into the center of the Merced of Guadalajara or down the street from Kings of the Cartel. They are my experts on retainer

If it's really "common" sense, why do so few people actually have it?

twelve says,
First of all, you have to establish that the installed president is going to WIN an election. You shouldn't ASSume that he is going to do that.
What are you libs going to do?
If Bush wins the election against Kerry, I will run out to the local christian book store and buy a bible for every room in the house. I will also get a picture of jesus and a cross for every wall in every room. I want to get these things early before the public swarms the stores for these things.
You know, we will be living in a country that has state controlled religion. The laws of supply and demand will apply. I want to get my supply before the price shoots up!

The assumption here is that those of us who oppose President Bush must by definition oppose the US. What nonsense.
If Kerry should win, would the Bush supporters leave the country? Of course they wouldn't, nor would they be "Anti-America".
For my part, if Bush wins, life will go on here as it always has. My little corner of the universe has weathered all of the presidents, dictators, kings and chiefs who tried to control it, and has survived them all. We're not worried.
fenix, good for you, wanting to immerse. You'll find you're much more welcomed on your own.

Ya, profe, I know how ya feel. I have a job, enough money to be comfortable, a home I love and all's right with the world..................................................
so who gives a rat's asp about anything or anybody else, or the environment, or corporations ripping off the middle class tax payer, or your kids being drafted to make money for Haliburton, or health care , or education...

twelve says,
BTW I have been to Vatican City... have you?
That statement sounds very competitive in nature. No! I have no need or want to go there either. Why is that the new vactation hot spot for the bible thumping crowd?

It must be horrible to have the weight of the world on your shoulders like that, god love you. It's amazing you find the hours in the day to spend gabbing in meaningless online forums, what with all the dragons you're out slaying.

Pardon me? I'm pretty sure you have to be "Elected" at least once in order to be "re-elected" (sorry supreme court coronations don't count)! Lord have mercy, I'm so tired of people repeating the "flip flopper" mantra. I really don't think people are that dumb, just "intellectually lazy"- try looking at events objectively and then, God forbid, come to your own conclusions! Just a thought (from someone who does).

If Bush gets in for another 4 years I will sell most of my assets and turn the money into gold. Gold can always be spent even as Bush continues to wreck the U.S. economy and dollar.

Hey Katrinka3254, don't mind the greeting from stinky..(twelvepole)... he wouldn't be happy if he didn't have something to twitch and gripe at.. he is our resident hate monger here.. hates women, gays, Democrats, cute animals and kids... loves Asian women, preferably the ones that don't speak English, loves big smelly Bears and tight asped, pinched mouthed granny's who wear army boots!

Katrinka3254,
Please allow me to apologize for twelve's comments. He is anti everything as the other poster said. Here's one thing that you can count on. When a person make a comment that he can't defend, he will verbally attack the poster.
He will display his intolerance toward others, and his overwhelming emotional insecurity. He is somewhat more mild than in the past. He got a 30 day "vacation" from the administration of Vendio for his comments towards others.
Please post at your leisure. I am sure others always welcome all viewpoints either pro or con to their position. It's what makes a good debate.

Well, profe , I know how you feel because YOU POSTED IT.
"For my part, if Bush wins, life will go on here as it always has. My little corner of the universe has weathered all of the presidents, dictators, kings and chiefs who tried to control it, and has survived them all. We're not worried. "
Your answering post is so sarcastic and childish that it's obvious I hit a nerve.....good, maybe it woke you out of your smug, ego-centric lethargy....but I really don't think anything could.
