Maggie, since I am one of the few you will talk to seriously occassionally, I'd like to address what you said... Actually.. I kind of agree with this statement...Nero...but I don't take it as a negative.. I get worried when people become to complacent...

I agree that we the people should never become complacent of our elected officials. However, that said, there comes a time where discontent becomes a chronic disease.

Look at Helen exploding off in that other thread about sending the soliders some packages that it is pure b s old lady sh*. It's not. She cannot fathom about what those little packages do for the morale of those soliders. It is because she is chronically siezed with malcontent. So much so that she doesnt have a clue that she thinks that the comparitive of equipment will preserve them verses whats inside them, or what really keeps them moving one more day. I will tell you something I know, Maggie, and those of you reading this: How you feel is what you are and what you will produce. It's not what you think; its not what you know; it's not your education, or your job; it's what you feel.

Fenix, I wouldnt catagorize you as one of the liberals I was addressing above. It's one thing to work very hard for what you have, and obviously you do, but imo, its another to constantly complain and blame blame blame the other guy for your troubles and the only thing you're (anybody) is doing is mouthing off, but effecting no solution. I dont really see you doing that on this board. Sh* happens you get over it. But I see others do it. And if you're (anyone)always angry, that is all you wind up being is an angry blob, that nobody wants to listen to and nobody wants to be around.

::Are now saying you're a liberal fenix? ::

What do you mean "now" Twelve? When have I ever said I was not?

::You maybe an exception to the rule, as we all know there are ones...::

Well then maybe you should knock off the "all dems" and "all liberals" crap and while you are at it. the cheap attention getting stereotypes would be nice too.

::Yep typical exit manifesto BS... can't stay away from the best board on the net...

Can't do what you say or say what you mean... yeah speaks alot about you and crowfart...::

I thought I did say what I mean Twelve. Was there something about "Kiss my ass" or "I've never encountered a group of people so eager to exist in negativity." that you found vague or difficult to understand. Should I type slower next time?

Oh - and just for clarification - I never said I was leaving and I don't think I have ever been known for mincing words so lets try to avoid those types of baseless assumptions in the future. And by the way, you are also more than welcome to avoid any future urges you may have to include in me in catagories with Crow.

If it's really "common" sense, why do so few people actually have it?

Nero...with all the ranting and raving and name calling and ugliness that goes back and forth here on the RT...(yes, I am as much a part of it as anyone else)

I may be naive, but I believe that there is a middle ground and that most of us are hopeful that one day soon we will be able to find it..
Bottom line.. we all want peace, justice, and liberty.. where it gets murkey..is when you add the "for all"...

As I stated in a previous post.. I believe that we must never become to complacent with our government.. regardless which party is in power...and always keep in mind that we must keep our elected officials as our employees..to govern as our spokesperson, not as one who dictates his will upon us.

Now, having said that.. I believe that if we want to continue to have a strong nation.. we must learn to pull together.. but each side must be willing to bend toward the middle, it can't be all one sided.

Of course you are correct Nero.. discontent is a chronic disease.... and I don't ever remember in my time.. where our country has been so discontent.. where we are so divided.. You say it is time to "get over it" sh!t happens....time to stop the blame game and get on with getting on..

I think the idea is a good one, and the feelings behind these statements are honest and not meant with any rancor..but for the 48% of the country who's party was defeated.. that is a mighty big and bitter pill to swallow.. especially when 51%, a relatively small majority of our country who's party is now in control..seem to disregard the voice of the enormous minority of their fellow citizens..

For this coming together, mending and healing to take place.. not only will the Democrats have to be willing to swallow the bitter pill of defeat, but the Republicans must start to consider that they can't just thumb their noses at 48% of their countrymen and expect them to follow peacefully like good sheep..either..

Unfortunately here on the RT.. we have some, not all, but some, Republicans who's only purpose is to gloat and to goad the Democrats on the board.. to rub their noses so to speak..it is difficult to keep a civil conversation or to disagree amicably, when you are being ridiculed or attacked for your beliefs or opinions.. or blatantly told you are lies or just incorrect...again..as I said before..48% of our population must not be told to stfu.. as we are often told here on the RT
And the beat goes on...
Maggie

hey maggie, that was a wonderful post thanks for being so forthright.

I understand and I agree with what you said about the admin and the 48% of the population. (I think I said something along that line to bear in another post.)

BUT...but, but, but.....lol

Here on this RT,you have to admit half the fun is the banter of the wide polarities.
That is, if you dont take it all too seriously ....

That wasn't for you fenix...

However I will not stop "all libs" "all dems" for an exception... don't like it, tough sh!t....

Negativity? first you didn't like the happiness over the election and now you say we are being negative... Libs and dems are negative and it's getting worse...

Be kind enough to remove your head and I will happily kiss your ass...

AIN'T LIFE GRAND...

Bigotry and prejudice -- these are assertions, not arguments. This is name-calling, not case-building.
