Maybe the powers that be in China should show the same concern for globally regulating Trademarks and Copyrights.

But here in America you have the freedom of speech. I was referring to the three of you about what it would be like for you 3 to live in a communist country. You seem to have nothing good to say about America and the people who live in it.

Libra you only want democracy when it favors what you preach. Yes this is America and we can speak out against the government. That is democracy. Get used to. If you want a form of government where only good things are said about the leader in charge, then you should have lived in Iraq under Saddam. I don't think the Iraqi people spoke out against Saddam. You would have loved being a cheerleader for him.

If the people of China want to speak out against they should be allowed to do it. However it doesn't seem like you do. You dont like when the Chinese speak out against their government, you dont't like it when Americans speak out against the government. It appears as if you are the one that is more in favor of government control and be ruled dictators.

Libra - They're just taunting you...ignore them. They're much further left than we are or would ever want to be. And if you ever have some spare time to see just how closely the ultra-left views posted here match some of those from the US Socialist Party of America http://www.politics1.com/parties.htm [just scroll down to the bottom of this list to see all the different socialist parties], or the US Communist Party of America's positions....you won't be surprised.

Right, Libra!
Crowfarm, leave the commie-bashing to Linda!

What's the matter helen....hit's a little to close to home for your liking?

I'm not making a list for you kiara. I think by my posts most have already have their 'own' clue as to who leans which way, some much more than others.

But imo....you're one of them.

You obviously don't know my views or positions on anything, Linda_k or you wouldn't even suggest such a thing.

There's a difference between taxpayer funded programs for the betterment of all of the citizens and a communist regime.

Perhaps you should do some reading and become more informed on this. Then come back and tell me what is so socialist about Canada compared to the US except for their health care.

kiara - PERHAPS YOU should give us your views on the topic subject.

Would YOU support the suggestion from China in regards to the internet being regulated by a UN governing board? Would YOU hope that Canada would support this or not?

Anyone who reads the link I posted which clearly states the platforms of both the socialist and communist parties can see for themselves that they are similar to the platforms of the radical/ultra-liberals in the democratic party.

I'd rather be a free thinker and on the left, than be a ultra-right sock puppet. What's the matter Linda, can't stand those that speak out against the government or is it only those that speak out against Bush that you can not stand.

logan - I have NEVER said anyone can't 'speak out'. I challenge statements that I think are going against the principals that our government was founded on - one being Capitalism...and WILL speak out about those issues myself.

It appears to me to be the exact reverse of what you claim. It's usually those of you on the left that don't stick to discussing the issues/topic...but rather start making every thread an insult game, INSTEAD of addressing the subject topic. Just like kiara has once again done. Just pops in to stir the 'sh1t'.

LOL helen - I've always thought 'free thinkers' were independents...that took each issue, not the party's platform, and made their own decision.

You're certainly not like that at all....your so stuck in the ultra-left/progressive/socialist positions...you'd NEVER take a position that could EVER be described as being a 'free thinker'. But that WAS funny.

Linda_K, you started ranting about the ultra-left here and how their views match the Socialist and Communist parties so I just asked who the ultra-left here are. Simple question.

Just because you can't answer don't blame me for stirring the sh!t. Your spoon is much bigger than mine and you always seem to have more in your pot.

Maybe you don't want to share your support for communist China's position and let others know that?

I did answer you....I said I see you as one I'd describe as being from the ultra-left.

Libra - I assume you are still looking for that proof of your claim that the people of China have chosen Communism over Democracy via general election... Any luck yet?

Linda - I'm not taunting Libra - she has made a string of posts based on a specific assertion that I am at a loss for the basis of. I have simnply asked her to back up her claims of China having chosen Communism over Democracy by means of a democratic process. If you can help her with proof of this claim, please feel free. Otherwise, since she certainly will not believe it coming from a leftie maybe you can correct her on these incorrect assertations.

Linda_K, I'm certainly not ultra-left but you seem to describe almost anyone as ultra-left if they don't worship Bush as you do or support your radical views.

Free thinkers seem to really upset you...... scared that they will challenge things and shake up your cozy little programmed world that you think is best? All change isn't bad.

BTW, I don't support Communist China but Bush seems to be doing a good job of it.

No you just call them Un-American, which in my opinion is the same thing. God forbid anyone speak out against anything Bush or this administration does.

Linda, Give me a break. The "insult game" is the only game you play.. Check your first post on this page, for example. You are a mean spirited, name calling reactionary. If you could change anything, it would be to revert to a society ruled by the Code of Hammurabi.

I fail to see your problem fenix. I told you where I found it now go and look for yourself like you told someone else to do in a previous thread and since I don't save threads I don't know which one it was in.

The Carter Report in case you don't know is a website by Jimmy and Rosalie Carter.

Now if you are demanding me to do something why not the others on this board that are way off topic.

BTW how long is a string.

fenix - I did not name you specifically. You have chosen to put yourself in that group. I have never felt or do I now that you are one I would consider one who 'taunts' others. But we all know the one's who do so on a regular basis.

LOL at all three of you....logan, helen and kiara.

Still not answering the topic thread question [helen and kiara].....just more accusations.

and logan - No you just call them Un-American. That's not quite true....usually I refer to them as anti-Amercan. And it's my use o MY Constitution free speech 'right' to do so. Just as lefties here refer to neocons, neonazies. No different. We're putting the poster in the political 'catagory' we have decided they most identify with.

fenix - I think Libra has already explained it quite well. She made the post: "Taking this from The Carter Report website."
"This article appeared in the March 30, 1997, edition of The Atlanta Journal and Constitution."

There's no confusion on my part. She has also stated that China is a communist country....so there's only the 'taunters' playing their usual games that has confused the point she was trying, and did imo, to make.
-------

On using the term 'friend'. I'm very fortunate to have what I believe are great 'friends' and I value their friendship with all my heart. I personally don't call people I don't know 'friends' - but rather online acquaintances. But Libra and I do shared some of the same political views....just as you do with helen and kiara who refuse to even answer this threads simple question.

Linda_k, I don't think I'm making any accusations by saying I'm not ultra-left and not supporting communism. If you insinuate something about me that is untrue, I choose to refute it because I know myself and my beliefs much better than you think you do.

Perhaps questions would be answered more readily by some of us and threads would stay on topic if you didn't throw out your own little accusations and insinuations left and right and all over constantly.

As far as internet regulation I can understand if countries attempt to do it because of their own laws and cultures but I don't see how it can ever be done globally because we are all so different.

It's a fact....maybe one you don't wish to have pointed out to anyone. But the socialist party's platform is very much like the changes the American ultra-left/progressive/ssocialists around the world want to see us make.
