It's 2005 and women are still back to wimping out! You've got it right, crowfarm.
No matter whether you were involved in the conversation or not, to not say anything about the way Yellow was talking was condoning it.
Kraft
All I know is it had something to do with the dog thread. They've removed that thread. Yellow made some very vulgar remarks about women and Maggie and she defended herself. Better watch defending yourself here. It's best to just take it, I guess.
DBL has the right idea. Dish it out then edit it out.

No Crow - what you fail to see if that there are some women that are actually able to recognize attention getting behavior and excercize enough self control to not feed it.
I find it interesting that you have you have decided that your reactions are to be held up as an example to all self respecting women. Personally, I think that if all women started reacting in the same manner you do it would set us back about 20 years both socially and politically as it feeds into the "high-strung" "reactionary" and "ruled by the emotions" stereotypes.

It's ludicrous to advocate that women should avoid reaction to verbal sexual assaults. I can't believe you said that. Study carefully all that Yellowstone said to Maggie. I'm dam sure that if the tables were turned that you would put him away in short order also.

I read it Helen and fail to see how a desperate plea for attention is still deserving of attention three days later. That is what I find ludicrous.

I agree with fenix....and wish I had the same strong self-control she shows here. But I would change 20 years to 'back 100 years'.
----------
I disagree with cheryl's 'take' on why it happened. Maggie was going balastic, as she often does, and NOT JUST at yellowstone. And I had copied and pasted one of her nasty posts to me....since she was erasing some of her other ones.
But I don't wish to discuss this further as when I was on my suspension it was very hard not being able to respond to some of the mistatements some where making about me.
But I will say I find it oh-so-laughable that the one's who pretend to be the MOST indignant about what was said to her...are the sameone's who cheerlead both maggie and crow on when they are handing it out to others. Double standards once again.

Thanks Cheryl. I've been reading, trying to figure it out and I take it Yellow got the boot too. Although I really like Yellow, I'm surprised at his comments towards Crowfarm and Maggie. It just didn't seem like him to be that vulgar. (??)
I guess we can't have fun anymore without someone taking offense and squealing. What a drag.
posted on May 11, 2005 11:11:41 AM new
Okay, KD, I'll ask you too. Where's the proof to back up your claim that anyone 'squeeled'?
I'd sure like to see how so many here appear to think that's what happened....rather than because of random monitoring.

So, according to fenix, if women are beaten and raped, it should be ignored because the "man" is just asking for attention.
Silence , when evil is committed, is condoning evil.
No, fenix, what I see are women who will lower their standards if someone they don't like is being abused in a most repulsive way.
Sorry, fenix, but if all women were doormats like some in here THAT'S what will set us back 50 years. I stand up for what is right and don't change my standards for any man (or woman for that matter).
I feel men should be held to the exact standards that women are held to....not excused as if they were"special" in some way.

I believe those were Maggies last words here before she was suspended.
THIS, on the other hand is what Yellowstone said to Maggie....
Yellowstone posted on May 8, 2005 09:11:11 PM Ohhhhh Maggie, I knew if I fingered you, you'd cum and do a little puppet dance of your own.
.........................................
Yellowstone posted on May 8, 2005 08:14:07 PM Sorry Crowfarm, but this is MY power play. Now go change your rag, I think it's full again.

Yellowstone posted on May 8, 2005 08:28:08 PM Ohhhhh here you are Maggie, you silly little puppet you and look at you with your makeup all smudged. You look like a whore that's been ridden hard. Now fix your makeup, the puppet show is about to start.
I doubt that anyone here would fail to respond to that.

You're right Linda. I shouldn't have said squealed - I don't have proof. If Vendio is monitoring our posts, then I can understand why Yellow would get suspended, but not Maggie. Did you read what he said in that thread?

I will agree with fenix on this one. Nothing impedes better than neglect. But the 'dignified' ladies of the RT cannot seem to grasp that.
He baited maggie and crow and they ran with it.
And cheryl sunshine of cleveland, there, I dont edit my posts unless I am sure who needs to see it has seen it. You dont know squash about dish, so stop trying to be somebody youre not here. Worry about your own 'out of left field' posts to threads that have nothing to do with how you feel about a given person that day.

KD - I read what maggie said in two - three different threads. Some directed at me personally. When I tried to explain I didn't like my conparison to 'her version' of what type of 'dog' I was...she started in again.
So...it wasn't just her behavior in one thread...nor her behavior towards YS.
Aren't many here, who now are so outraged the same one's who say we're all responsible for our OWN words. It was HER words that got her suspended....her's. Just as it was mine when the same thing happened to me. Can't blame others for our own actions....NO ONE forces us to do anything. We either have self control or we don't. Or we say what we wish knowing we can easily be suspended.

Crow - How unlike you to completely twist a statement and leave it bearing absolutely no resemblance to it's original form. I am shcoked...SHOCKED I tell you.
If you are incapable of determining the difference between an attention getting insult on an anonymous message board and physical assault there really is no point in trying to converse with you.
::I feel men should be held to the exact standards that women are held to....not excused as if they were"special" in some way.::
I don't just ignore the attention getting behavior of men, you of all people should have recognized that one by now.

Maggie did not deserve to be suspended. In fact, she was a delightful and versatile poster with the intelligence to make meaningful contributions to the discussion of any topic. But those rats who hounded her and then spun a tale to Vendio do deserve to be suspended.

And I agree, fenix, you are one of less than a handful here who don't act that way...take the side that most represents your political views...you are very fair in your evaluations of individual situations.
[Me praising you in that area, should get you on the 'blacklist' for sure - sorry, but that's how I see your posts too.]

No arguements there on Mags Helen. I admit that I didn't see what the supposedly offending posts were but this suspension game is getting out of hand.

Linda, come on. Maggie started the thread to get some laughs. Is calling you a Pomeranian that bad? Geez, she called me a poodle... what could be worse? Actually, I think she was trying to point out what type of dogs we'd own, not what dogs we'd be if we were dogs.
And could someone explain this to me? When a person calls another person names or is mean, how does being mean back make you any different than the person that was mean in the first place?
posted on May 11, 2005 11:48:08 AM new
No, fenix, I didn't twist anything. Abuse is abuse is abuse. Allowing men to have different "levels" of abuse only encourages more abuse. For instance, a woman who allows a man to verbally abuse her is surely going to one day be physically abused by him. No, not in a chat room, but why not show your standards everywhere, if you have them.
Then you say two different things:
""I don't just ignore the attention getting behavior of men""
and then
""actually able to recognize attention getting behavior and excercize enough self control to not feed it.""
To add, WE were NOT responsible, nor were we feeding Yellow, he, and he alone, was responsible for his disgusting posts.

Crowfarm I will never come to your defense. Please understand it. You dish it out then take it and if you can't shut your computer off and walk away. You kept adding fuel to the fire and the nasty talk continued. I simply ignored his posts as well as others did. In fact I never email posts to my mail box so I miss alot of threads that are unimportant to me. No we are not back in the 60's but I learned you stay away from dirty slutty talk. If you ignore than they will ignore you.
I agree, Fenix...that the suspension game is getting out of hand.
On the rare chance that Vendio might be monitoring an unmoderated board, I suggest that it would be appropriate to apologize to Maggie and rescind her suspension.

Crow - put yourt reading comprehension hat back on and reread those statements... of course you might want to put that first one back into context. I think you will find that I am saying the exact same thing in both statements.
If you still don't get it let me know. I'll be more than happy to explain it in clearer terms.

fenix it is not the suspension game getting out of hand it is the ability to post a thread and hope that it turns out to be a great discussion as most of these in here are not. It is the ability of someone to post a thread and approximately 3 seconds later it is gone to the dogs.(smile) (for better use of a word)
Many of the discussion boards I am reading do have different opinions but never get to the name calling as in here. I cannot give an opinion because within a couple of minutes I have been sworn at, told I am a liar etc. It gets a little sick after awhile. What I don't like is someone bashing my religion and they have none. That is personal to me.
People post ugly stuff, then when they think the right people have read it they edit it. maybe Vendio as to get rid of the edit system. But I honestly think that Vendio is watching this board just because of the happenings that have gone on here in the past.
posted on May 11, 2005 12:04:41 PM new
Go ahead , fenix, explain how you ignore and not ignore.
Then lack of reading skills seems to be rampant...have you managed to read any other parts of my posts? no, I didn't think so.
posted on May 11, 2005 12:07:29 PM newCant wait to play with the edit thing a bit now. Thanks to linda for reminding me how it works. I bet I could keep some frustrated detectives busy all day with the "whats missing from this puzzle, verses that puzzle", or "find the five hidden things in this picture game." Afterall, if you cant shove your nose so far up somebodys azz,how will u smell the roses everyday?
Were these not your words? I was simply referring to them. If you took my reference as something bad, that's your problem. If I took what you stated wrong, that's mine. I meant it as a cut on this unmonitored board. I'd hate to think we have to edit out defenses to other people's comments in order to stay alive on this board.
Helen
I agree with you as well. I saw no reason for Maggie to get the boot. It's like elementary school. One child does something wrong so the whole class gets punished. Maggie deserves an apology or at least an answer from Vendio as to why she was suspended. She's gotten neither. From what I understand, it's for good now.
My thread on Gay Rights is also gone. However, the only two really arguing in that thread was DBL and me. We're both still here. So, I suppose it depends on who you are.

KD - Linda, come on. Maggie started the thread to get some laughs. Is calling you a Pomeranian that bad?
Well...talk to kiara about 'dragging' names in when the person doesn't want them 'drug' into something. She's got a mouthful to say about that.
And no...we each take things the way they appear to us. It wasn't the dog she chose for me, it was HER INTERPUTATION of that dog's behaviors that I found derogatory - she and kiara even had a good laugh about how maggies interputations fit people so well wink, wink.
But it wasn't only that either...it's how she carried on....screaming in all caps at me...telling me to leave...going on and on about other nonsense, directed at me, that I found offensive. It's not her first time to 'shovel' it out....to me or others. She hands it out very well...just can't take it when the same is returned her way.
You appear to condone that behavior...I don't. Your right to do so...my right to see it much differently - since it was directed at ME. But it wasn't in relation to the dog thread that I was copying her statements to me. She was on one of 'her rolls' and was posting very inappropriately, then erasing a couple, then posting more. Certainly against our community guidelines.
--------------
Might be fun for others to watch/view while it's happening...not too much fun when it's directed at you personally. She deserved to be suspended again, imo.
Geez, she called me a poodle... what could be worse? Actually, I think she was trying to point out what type of dogs we'd own, not what dogs we'd be if we were dogs.

OK sweetie - I see subtlties really are lost on you.
What I was saying was that men are not the only gender whose attention getting behavior I tend to ignore. I also ignore the attention getting getting behavior of women. When I stated that this was something that you of all people should recognize it is because I oh so frequently find myself ignoring YOUR attention getting behavior.
