But everybody knows that you don't laugh. You use those smilies as a fortress to bolster your pitiful attempts to defend your ignorant position. That's why you can't stop using them...although you did make an effort in that direction for a couple of days.

LOL again. I doubt EVERYONE/EVERYBODY thinks the way you do....thank heaven for small favors...plus you're going to have to sit in the 'time-out' chair if you keep this up helen....calling me ignorant.

I stopped? Boy...what great, detailed facts you keep on me. Did you put all this vital info. in your files/folders helen?

Wow - look at all the fun I missed.

Dbl - I know you will find this SHOCKING but I do know a little about Burning Man. There were a couple stories a couple years ago after someone died out there. I don't remember how. I think something fell on them.

Anyway... I thought it seemed really interesting. The website lends it more of a touchy feely aura than what I got from the stories that were done at the time and the people that talked about it. To me it sounded interesting. I don't think you could really call it a cult since it exists for only a few weeks. Personally I thought that it sounded like a great place to hang out with complete strangers and my camera for a week or so, relax and completely ignore the realities of life. Something everyone could use a little of from time to time.

If it's really "common" sense, why do so few people actually have it?

ahh fenix!! About time you showed up to discuss the topic.

My friend who sent me the link, told me some of them do drugs etc.,.. because I asked...but it is going to be much more controlled this time around because of security etc. However it doesnt appear that will inhibit them much. I think the people who go there are very free to be, and express themselves. My hubby would never in a million years go for it, but I would like it.

Dbl - please forgive my tardiness. I had a bit of a surprise vacation. Spent a few days enjoying sun, sand, old friends and cold drinks across the border. They headed back south and I came home in order to avoid the Memorial Weekend Idiocy. Had a great time though. Of course now I have to play board and business catch-up.
