I think yall are jumping the gun here. Stem cell research still only holds the possibility to cure disease. I dont think its been proven in any great quantity yet if that will hold water even if research should commence on a grand scale. - Remember when they thought putting animal hearts and parts into humans would work on a grand scale? That was supposed to offer great promise but seems to me, it never really did.

One simple fact remains that none have mentioned, this would be against the covenants of the democratic party and their compassionate followers.
Compassion doesn't have conditions.
What about the people who couldn't afford to give? Where is your compassion for the poor, or can't have it because they didn't donate? ROFL

You know this for sure KD. You can predict the future, if so predict how they are going to change all the SS numbers.

You have a good point although I don't see why you find it so hilarious...I hope you're not getting a case of Meaningless Hysterical Laughter from linduh.
Libra, try really hard to get over the numbers thing....please read the first paragraph(group of words) in this post.

Yes crowfarm, my point was...you are all jumping the gun with this talk of altering SS and tax forms, tho. First comes R, then comes D, then comes implementation.

I still find this thread a joke and find it quite amusing.
But if people really want stem cell research, they need to show the high profitability then maybe then the government would be more willing to come around.

so why then crowfarm are you dicussing changing the ss and tax forms for research no one has proved anything with yet?

Oh wait dblfugger, this is just an idea, nothing legal yet, no congressmen have been contacted, no bills introduced.

Ron, this is the second time you've said this is a joke thread....then why have you lowered yourself to post in it?
Why don't YOU think up an idea for something...anything...and post it ??
Then we'll comment on your ideas.
Bigpeepa had the guts to post HIS idea knowing full well that he'd get all kinds of responses.
Duh Dble, ya need money for research........ya need da money before ya can do da research.
Once AGAIN: it was an IDEA. No one has contacted their lawyer or congressman , no legal papers or bills have been drawn up...it was an idea ...last I heard they were legal but not binding.

No, this is not the answer.
Ron is right. It will probably have to be privately funded until it shows some results both medically and financially before they would even consider investing in it and thinking about such a chaotic schematic as proposed here.
I could see the ensuing dramas: well i donated for three years, then I stopped (or i stopped paying my taxes altogether) but now 15 years later, i am ill and think i should get 3 years worth of stem cell assistance anyway.
