Anyway, Kraft, I don't think that people do things that make them get cancer, sure some do harmful things, smoke, drinking, and they get lung cancer, emphasema, liver cancer whatever.
But there are so many cancers out there.
My mother died very young of leukemia (I would suppose that is a cancer, cancer of the blood) and they hardly knew anything back then, diagnosed on a Feb, died in May.
She didn't smoke, drink or whatever, food? heck we ate good Irish food which is probably not healthy, but I doubt it caused her luekemia

NTS there is also lymphoma, a cancer of the lymph glands that older people get, there is also senile leukemia that older citizens get and both have nothing to do with their life style. I doubt if Hodgkins disease, disease of younger adults, and late teens and early 20's, that has nothing to with life style either. There is a lot of research that has to be done to find out why those cancers happen. It touches poor people, middle class people and rich people. It touches almost every race. There is no descrimination when it comes to those diseases. And then brain tumors. Some are malignant and some are benign and they don't know why that happens either.
Another one is Breast Cancer. Definately a cancer that is bewildering. Enough of the doom and gloom.

NTS, sorry to hear about your Mom. Were you angry when she died? At the time, as a child, if I am understanding this right - did you think she did something terribly f/u'd and left you? It's not unusual to cop that attitude when a parent dies, is it?

I beg you pardon Tom or anyone I did respond to the original OP.
It seems like the "left" is blaming Bush for everything. That makes me laugh. Nothing can be done until congress passes what ever he suggests. Its called checks and balances. The 9/11 Workman's comp is for the State of New York to figure out, not George Bush. And if you read an earlier post of mine I posted an article with information. Not all Workman's comp that is being applied for is related to 9/11. It might be a small factor but the big picture is what makes the decision.
i.e. Take a 20 year fireman, he just didn't get emphysema from 9/11 it is known that most fireman have some form of it because of the fires that they have been called to. Just because a fireman has a heart attack during a fire doesn't mean that fire caused the heart attack.
