classic, yes, and when you move down south you will figure out how they drive here. There's no such thing as the left lane is just for passing here. There is also no such thing as jug handles, you can hang a huey in the middle of almost any road here - AND, they dont turn from the left into the left lane, they go from the left straight into the far right, so if you think there is any traffic flow with mergeing youre totally fuk'd trying it! Cars also do not pass around the right of you at an intersection, they pass on the left of you! I kid you not!

We are all very polite, law abiding, drivers here in Miss. LOL.. actually people push their carts through Wally-world the same way they drive...anything goes! Whooo! hoo! It's not a pretty sight..

lol maggie!! When I first got here, I was like ...wha the heck..? Especially the turning left in an intersection - I was always taught to go around the right of the other car! Here, ya wanna go left, ya go left and stay left! The heck with the other car!!
There is so much congestion now, and they keep trying to expand the lanes more, but its taken them like six years already and its still not done! I think, like many towns, if there is just two lanes, the left cant be just for passing. I dont think the traffic can accomodate it for just that function, and I dont think they were taught about that down here! I really dont! They have the oddest courtesy's/unwritten rules they go by ...but when in Rome, ya know Maggie?.... So I guess I have fallen into that kind of laissez faire attitude compared to how they drive up north! I doubt I could go back and drive in NYC, or across the Brooklyn Bridge again. They are just friggin nuts and I dont think I'd have the nerves to do anymore!

LOL Maggie!! Thats the rule of the road up in NJ/NY -- and that is what Classic El- Super-Trooper was trying to tell me I was at fault for. But it's not how it is down here. I know its not. I am glad you say the same thing. There's definitely different road rules in diff parts of the country!
You know the other thing I noticed here with the Southerners? If they are backing out of a parking space, they expect you to extend them the courtesy of waiting for them to back out! LOL! Doesnt matter who has right of way! It's like, "I am backing out, do you mind? You wait! Thankyou!"

Absolutely right, DBL! Not to mention the the turn signal is "All Powerful" once that thing is flipped you just pull in front of those big rigs or any other thing in your path..it is called the "right of way" signal down south..
And changing lanes means crossing 3-4 lanes in one shot, I'm not good at that..I don't merge well...either.. LOL
