I don't use swear words like you do....I don't cuss at people...and I don't keep inviting people that don't agree with my political views to leave - like you continually do. Heaven knows how many you've run off with your comments to them...
Linda, you are so right. I dont think I've ever seen you ferociously barking up somebody like many of these so called democrats here do. {Who was that very scholarly educated poster who soon nixed the idea of discussing politics with this bunch after Helen ripped into him after his first two or three posts here?]
You might defend yourself, or stress your POV, yes, that I've seen. But most here cant even get their point across to Ron without butchering his name, even when he's asked politely that they not do that. I think it's because they dont give a ratz azz about anybody except themselves. If that is indicative of the democratic party and their collective attitude, they will continue to lose again and again and remain extremely frustrated. They talk about Clinton's charm and charisma...but havent a clue how and why he is blessed with that. Oh, I can see Helen attempts to get her point across with some intellectual veracity, according to what she believes, and like she's read the Washington Post that day, but it never really lasts. She seems to lose her cool with you especially, and then ultimately meanders into raggedy. Why do think what you post here causes such an emergence of this catty childish behavior?
BTW Helen, I always meant to ask you, were you near gagging when you saw Clinton and Bush Senior doing a publicity tour together? Somehow, I get the feeling you were!

Give me a break, dbl. Ron was threatening to have people here suspended because they called him "Ronnie" rather than "Ron" which he "preferred" and apparently he made an effor to do so. You and I have both been called names other than what we might prefer but we didn't stomp our little feet up and down and threaten to notify Vendio.
I avoided Ron while he was here because I knew how sensitive he was...As you may know, he announced when he first arrived and before anyone knew who he was that if anyone insulted him he would notify vendio immediately. But when he announced that he was leaving and insulted the IQ of an unnamed poster here, I responded to that.

I think that Bush senior holds Clinton in very high regard as most people do. It's good to see that they can have a personal friendship while avoiding partisan issues.

Yes, agreed. But apparently you or I can laugh it off as stupid nonsense..which is what it is. But I dont expect other people who come here to have the same personality structure as I do. And other than saying he'd complain to vendio, I dont see where he ever tried to do anything but discuss politics here without getting personal or assaultive.
And I'm glad you viewed the Clinton/Bush thing as a good thing! The people of this country need to see forgiveness and unity among their leaders; not an example of constant derision. I am proud of Clinton that he put all that behind him (what he claims the republican party put him through) and has moved on in his life. That is a leader!

dbl - Why do think what you post here causes such an emergence of this catty childish behavior?
Because those who act that way ARE extremely immature....haven't advanced into adulthood yet.
To some this is their only form of entertainment - and they hop from chat board to chat board....'board junkies' someone once called them. Their true thoughts and personalities come out in their posts. Behind their monitors and mostly anonymous, they feel more free to express themselves.
Plus while they CLAIM to be with the 'party of tolerance', have a willingness to be accepting of all things and they CLAIM to have open-minds... it's clear to all that's just NOT the case here.
Imo, both President Bush1 and Bush2 get along with clinton because even they ALL understand it's only about their political differences....the person/people are so much more than just politics, that that is only ONE side of a persons being.
Here those who act that way come across to me that not only if you're a conservative, but even if you're a dem that disagrees with them on one or two issues....then you don't deserve to be heard....or even be alive.
I also think that many of the hard-core dems here are SO very frustrated at the way things have gone for their party since 1998....continuing to lose elections/seats, that they tend to use me as their verbal 'punching bag' because they're venting their anger, frustration and animosity towards this administration.... on the oh-so-vocal board conservative, me.

And why the American Voters chose to RE-elect President Bush to four more years. YES!!!

Yes! I agree. I also agree politicans can and do view themselves as collegues of each other...at least until the next election, and then the rugs are pulled out on every side. I've observed this long enough to see the truth in it as well.
I am glad you are here as the other voice Linda. You make alot of sense most days. I have no idea why you continue to stay here with the abuse you get...but I surmise it fortifies your resolve even more.

dbl - MOST days??? LOL [teasing]
I've also seen it very clearly in the law profession. Over and over again I've seen two lawyers representing different sides of a case...arguing...getting their clients to believe the 'other' lawyer is the most evil person alive....stiring the pot...and then later have seen them having lunch together...playing golf together...attending parties/cocktail hours and laughing like they were the best of friends.
I've asked myself why I continue posting here many times. I registered at otwa when they first started....and I've never posted there. Tried posting at one ezboard....a pretty friendly one...but it didn't work out. When you're of a different political persuasion...you're voice is just not too welcome [no tolerance to different views] - unless one goes to a board where almost all posters are conservatives. But I'm more interested in keeping the dems here honest. When they only give part of an issue...I'm doing my 'duty' to present the other side....the whole story. Plus as you can tell, I enjoy banter.
I've seen lefties leave that I respected very much - and was sadden to see them go. I seen many righties be run off by nastiness of some lefties. Sometimes I think I stay just to show them they CAN'T run me off. They're SUCH controllers.
