How many times must I tell people....do not use your real ID in AW?. Don't ever and I mean ever (& yes that means from today to the end of time tpye of ever) let anyone know who you are or what your id is in eBay, Yahoo, Amazon or anywhere.

I've known people who have appointed themselves eBay police for many reasons but the main reason...too much time. Especially if you are selling Adult material or even if you are stating controversial topics, don't ever tell anyone yer id. Kids here hold a grudge.

Remember last year when we had that reserve fee hike in eBay & guess who were the ones that were whining to eBay...yeah yeah 1 cent starting price with a $100 reserve bugs the living daylights outta ya. Friggin basta%$.

mboyko: Good Morning. Well, it looks like others are agreeing with my theory as to why you got the boot. Believe me, ebay has no sense of humor over stuff like this. Otherwise they may have just sent you a warning slip in a used pizza box full of ants. I don't agree with the way you did business but when you came here you did liven up this forum.

I was banned for interfering with the operation of eBay's site. I haven't done that! I haven't even used that relisting since it was pointed out it may be against eBay's rules. Thanks for all your sympathy though, people. If there's one thing I've learned about the auctionwatch forums, it's that we're talking with 90% heifers here. Guess it's just not a very manly place.

I'd really like to know what ebay has to say. I read the other thread and it seemed like it was not the right thing to do but something they suspend you for? mboyko the only thing ebay cares about is fee avoidance. I have a friend (my boss) who was suspended for fee avoidance and it was for 30 days. It was for contacting losing bidders and trying to sell items direct. Clearly against the rules and it seems like more of an infraction than what you did. keep us posted it's good info.

The way that I try to avoid fees is to list a few things on Yahoo! It's great to have a second (free) venue!

Lots of luck!

Go ahead and keep talking like that, mboyko --maybe you'll do us all a favor & get banned from here as well.

Guess it's just not a very manly place.

I would think that coming to a site and requesting help of those whose opinions one has just recently expressed disdain for is not very manly, either.

But that's just me...

tweller ... if eBay believes they can prevent someone (anyone) from making deals off their site (the losing bidder scenario that you mentioned), then I suggest this is a violation of fair trade law. I further suggest that if your boss actually had this happen, s/he should file a law suit immediately against eBay for interfering with his/her rights to free trade. If, in fact, there were losing bidders, that implies that there was also a winning bidder, and futher implies that your boss has more than one widget to sell. eBay got their piece of the one sold on their site - they have NO RIGHTS to prevent sales of similar items to others, nor do they have to right to prevent anyone from contacting anyone else who may have used their site. It doesn't matter what their 'rules' state - this is AGAINST THE LAW!

This would go nicely with the one I have initiated against eBay for knowingly allowing illegal items to be sold on their venue. They are knowingly contributing to a felony and they need to be brought back to reality with a hefty fine (or a 30 day suspension!).

Go for it

Well, on the bright side when eBay cancelled all my auctions they also cancelled a few duds that weren't going to sell, and I got credited my listing fees. Won't list those again! Also, maybe it's time I start a new seller account. My last one was getting too tarnished and I think people were starting to wise up to some of my tricks.

RB, I think you have a point, but also, couldn't ebay claim that you generated that lead from an auction you hosted on their site?

You must not have seen my auction results tonight. Only one listed item didn't end with a bidder, out of
like 20 or more. I'm in the money, baby!

eBay cannot claim ownership of anyone's name or email address, nor can they 'legally' prevent one member from contacting another for any reason. As a matter of fact, I suspect they actually peddle their members' info to SPAMMERS (ever wonder how these SPAMMERS know that you have an eBay account???) This is something else that is currently being investigated ....

I don't think they can claim ownership, but they could always hide the bidder history if they wanted to.

Isn't the issue here the fact that eBay has a set of rules in place, and in order to sell on their site, one agrees to adhere to those rules. This is copied directly from eBay:

"Listing Techniques that circumvent eBay's fee structure. Users may not use systems or techniques to interfere with the proper working of the eBay site, which includes the circumvention of the eBay fees. Some examples include: Listings with low bid prices, but unreasonably high shipping costs Dutch Avoidance (see description below)
Selling an item that requires an additional purchase from the seller Items offered for direct sale (not through eBay) Catalog sales (see description below) Listings with an e-mail address or domain name in the title"

Now, I realize that eBay has on occasion stepped outside their own limits and closed down some auctions that were not in violation of any rule or guideline. However, the seller in question on this thread admitted to and bragged about his "tricks" in cheating not only eBay but buyers as well out of money.

It's strange if that is the reason, because I haven't used that relisting technique in a long time, and none of the auctions that were currently up had been launched in that manner. I wonder if I've saved 5.00 over the last 7 months using that technique. In comparison, I have sent eBay over 1000 dollars in that time, over a hundred dollars every month. When looked on in that light, it would seem that eBay made a stupid business decision.

mboyko: So you will just start a new account? Nice to see a "real man" on the road to recovery.

"heifers"? Maybe ask jerry12 about that one.

mboyko,

You are probably better off anyway, with those 15 negs.

I have over 10 accounts for selling on ebay, and it is no big deal to open another one when one gets NARU.

Please, let us know your new account name, s we can follow your auction.

It's probably best just to take a month off, start fresh and learn a few lessons along the way. Contrary to what some people have said, don't open a new account. Some people have been banned for life for doing that.

"It's strange if that is the reason, because I haven't used that relisting technique in a long time, and none of the auctions that were currently up had been launched in that manner."

It doesn't matter if you are currently doing it. Someone most likely reported you and Ebay found evidence of your doing it in the past.

As for the rest of us, we are sounding like a Sally show audience. A bit to self righteous and rejoicing over mboyko's misfortune. That also is wrong or at least I find it unethical.

mboyko,

Your post:

is inflamatory and outside the limits of basic etiquette.

This is an informal warning. Please review the Community Guidelines before you post again.

outoftheblue, I don't know if you have followed mboyko's postings here, but he simply is not interested in learning "a few lessons". He's interested in making a quick buck, period, no matter at whose expense, be it Ebay's or his bidders. He seems to be proud of his questionable business ethics, and not overly bright in bragging about them. There IS justice in this world. Good riddance to bad rubbish.

Actually there are so few bulls and so many cows in the world, that you are very very unlikely to ever see much bull manure. They slaughter most male bovines when they are young, but the cows are good for milk and for producing more cattle. I live in North Dakota, so I know these things
