>> since the item was insured and buyer claimed he did not receive it,then usps said seller can file claim after 30 days.
not sure for how long after 30 days,i would find out if you can still file claim with post office, this is legit claim with usps.
of course if usps finds out buyer is lying,he is in trouble.
you have nothing to fear
You have up to one year after the postmark on the insurance receipt to file the complaint. A new thing you can do that would be less expensive than insuring every package would be to get signature confirmation from the post office. Its $1.75 extra and provides both electronic delivery confirmation and a copy of the signature upon request.

signature confirmation may be less expensive but the buyer can claim someone forged his signature.
one day i was about to leave my home and the mailman came with an overseas priority package what the japanese called EMS ,our version of global priority mail.
i reached out for that packet and said i will take that!!
he said, use your key and see if you can open the front door !!
i know it is rather low,but there are people who will stand outside your home and take pizza, chinese carry out ,ups package etc etc.

HAVE YOU CONSIDERED FILING EBAYS FRAUD REPORT & INSURANCE CLAIM? I DON'T KNOW IF A SELLER CAN OR NOT. FIND OUT AS LLOYDS HAS A $25.00 DEDUCTABLE. MAYBE YOU CAN GET SOME OF THE MONEY BACK. ALSO MOST POLICE DEPTS WANT TO CRACK DOWN ON INTERNET FRAUD. ITS A PAIN TO PURSUE BUT $200.00 IS A HUGE KICK IN THE HIND END. DEFINATELY WORTH TIME AND EFFORT. MOST EVERYONE HAS A BANK ACCOUNT. IT IS VERY EASY TO GET YOUR OWN MERCHANT ACCOUNT SO YOU CAN CONTROL THE CREDIT CARD BILLING & SHIPPING INFO. ALSO GO TO POST OFFICE AND FILE MAIL FRAUD AGINEST THE PERSON WHOS NAME AND ADDRESS YOU SHIPPED ITEM TO. THE US GOV IS VERY AGGRESSIVE IN PURSING THEM AND IT DOESNT COST YOU A CENT. GOOD LUCK TO YOU.
