Right back at ya Helen. Tell you what, open wide and I'll be happy to oblige.

kraft - do I think dblfugger is insane? Who knows? I'll reserve judgment on the sanity of the posters here until a later time.

Maggie - while I suspect my leanings will be revealed in the context of specific threads I can tell you that I'm a conservative but probably not an ultra-conservative. In fact, I'm not sure I'm ultra anything. I voted for Bush and would again in a heartbeat if my choice was Bush or Kerry. Things I have little paitence for would include treehuggers who complain about this country's energy policy and then drive home in their SUV, people who think the government is the solution or cause of all problems and anyone who uses the word "smarmy" in a setence.

I could say more but that gets us started.

Mags - maybe - but what really got me was the Red Storm Rising reference. Red here is the one person I have ever encountered that read that book. Most people that read Clancy stick with the Jack Ryan series. RSR was a basically a hypothosis written duing the height of the Cold War about how the Russia and the US would be manipulated into the WW3 by Islamic extremists.

Just what we need. Another republican AND one who would vote for Bush again.

Anyway, welcome Red. I don't post like I used to. It gets far too ugly in here for me. Name callers who call other people name callers. . .you get my drift.

fenix - its been a long time since I read RSR but I do remember it as one of his best. The Ryan series is good as well. Clancy has a scary ability to have his finger on the pulse of the geo-political spectrum and to create very real plots. I remember seeing him interviewed on 9/11 and he was asked if he ever thought his ending to Debt of Honor could happen. For those who don't know, Debt of Honor which was written in 1995, ends with someone flying a 747 into the Capitol during the president's state of the union adress, effectively destroying the government. Anyway, when asked if he ever thought that was really possible when he wrote it he said no, that while it made for a great ending to a fictional story, he did not forsee the organization it would take to actually pull it off in real life.

Cheryl - yes, I get your drift. Name-calling is pretty much a fact of life on unmoderated message boards so it doesn't really bother me much.

in your opinion, do you think Double's insane?

lol, kraft. awww gee, showing rss that you you are amongst my my biggest "fanatics" here, are you? I already told you once, flattery only works on yer boyfriends, kraft

See rss, the kraftdinner and maggin'naggin'nothings or, as they are better known by me: waylame and madam-has-been are like tweeters and woofers on this board. (One honks, and the other one's chassis bobbs up and down all day.hay yuk a yuk a yuk). But I dont think they like silk to any degree. I think they prefer tweed blazers and jc penny style loafers. (tre chic - oui oui!@)

But do be careful where you tread with them - they're little more than identity thieves in tow yannow.....

Oh, and baiting also doesn't bother me much. I present exhibit A:

I ran the words through gender genie and the result was male...but just barely.

I give this a 4.2 on the baiting scale. Questioning gender with the "but just barely" add-on is unoriginal and not very clever. But since I use the line in a response its worthy of a few points.

"Libs and tree-hugger", mild so far New Kid good job.

I can remember back into the 70s when tree-huggers from both parities were calling guys like me "Joe Six-pack" with his pick-up. Yelp how them times are a changing now pick-ups and big SUVs are a status symbol.

Government blew their chance back in the 1970S. Carter said back in the 70s the oil issue in America would become a crisis. Nothing was done about oil then and still nothing is being done about oil now when oil is a crisis in America.

Our government "stayed the course" then and is still "staying the course" with big oil companies.

In the case of the oil crisis government is the cause and have not been the solution then or now.

lol dbl....I thought so too, even if I had to say so myself.

She keeps coming in....ranting and raving...calling other people names...then saying that's why she doesn't post here any more. I found it funny.

------------------

Red - I'm sorry that the welcome you're getting from helen isn't the most friendly. Had you come in and announced you were a liberal....she would have thrown down the red carpet, sat by your feet, told you how much she likes having you here...etc....etc...etc.

But for our helen, you're getting the best I've ever seen her give someone who admits to being a Bush supporter. And that's the God's honest truth.

lol, you know, y'all don't need to discuss my gender like I'm not here. Perhaps someone will ask me? <smile>

I'm always looking for examples of that liberal compassion and tolerance. Its nice to see it alive and well.

Linda admit it you are peeing your panties with excitement knowing you've got fresh fish on your side...

Anything credible that you say, Linda is discredited when you agree with the board nutbar... LOL

Oh maggie....don't go showing your GREEN eyes of jealously so soon.....you're just jealous of dbl....and show it all the time.

And your words of praise/support for CF/MG/LB leave little doubt to your judgement abilities of others. ANYONE who see's LB as a normal person....wouldn't be able to even recognize a decent, intelligent person like dbl.

You just have a lot of trouble with opposing opinions...and then you start making it personal.

Catch up to you all later.
