All I can say, dbl, is I personally know how it feels when they keep following you around and making comments at everything you say....and then it appears to turn into an obsession with them.
My stalker was crowfarm. For months she followed me around posting after every post I'd make....making foul statements, double posting what I'd said...and stating many lies about what I had said, believed or thought. People like that have some sort of a BIG problem....but we can't fix it for them....they need professional help.
And then to some it's just a game to them.

I've often wondered how you can be so nice....have great discussions with posters here....then on a dime...turn around and become quite rabid yourself.
It's like you have a jekyll and hyde personality or maybe even a bi-polar disorder.....but you sure can change personalities in a flash.....sorry to say.

Well, this has turned into a pretty typical thread. Welcome redstate. I'm the token Spanish speaker in these parts, also the token overpaid, underworked, tenured teacher whose fault it is our kids can't read. I'm also the only person here who kills all his own meat. There aren't any real conservatives here, so if you are one, we can use you.

I don't know, NearTheSea, could be just that. I'll just wait, watch and listen to see how it goes from here on out.
It takes guts for a newbie to walk right in, introduce him/herself and admit which political side they favor. One either has to have a GREAT sense of humor or very thick skin....as I've developed over the years.
But a new poster is always welcome, be they lefties or righties, imo.

Welcome Red! Nice to have a fresh opinion around. Everyone's not always nasty. I believe there has been a thread, at some time, when most of us got along.
I don't post much, mostly in spurts. I am a moderate conservative, if there is such a thing. With liberal leanings...ha ha
logansdad- I saw a bumper sticker that made me think of you..."I'm straight, but not narrow". I wanted it for our old art van (I have the back covered with them), but the poor thing is going down the road and Mark won't let me ruin his new one. Jazz said I should have gotten it for her. If they have them next year, I'm buying two. I think you and I would get along great in real life.

I agree dbl....they love taking their anger about not having their party in control...and their anger about President Bush and what his administration does or doesn't do that they don't like, out on me. I think because I'm usually the most vocal rightie here.
I'm one of the few they haven't been able to run off. 
And it's true....there have been a couple of times when I've taken a few months off....and no other righties would respond to them....they started 'picking/feeding' on one another.

Our government "stayed the course" then and is still "staying the course" with big oil companies.
Peepa, I missed your comment earlier on oil companies, etc. Here is an issue we can likely find some common ground. I completly support the development of alternative energy sources so that this nation can become less dependent on foreign oil. Nothing would please me more than giving the Middle East a nice big middle finger when it comes to importing their crude. Big oil has a powerful lobby in this nation however and they have done well for themselves in terms of blocking alternative energy development. I think we're just now starting to see that change but unfortunately its not happening fast enough.
Where we will probably disagree is that in the meantime, I'm not opposed drilling in Alaska or anywhere else within our borders to ease the dependence on the Middle East.

I don't agree with Jeb Bush not wanting oil drilling off the coast of Florida. From your post I see we also agree on that point.
Like I said in my first post to you I have had level headed Republican friends for years. Its the right wing of the Republican party that I call wackos not the main stream Republicans.
How do you feel about are wide open southern borders that Bush is doing nothing about. I believe the open borders hurt the middle and working class American. Plus the open borders pose a threat to Americas security. Do you and I agree on the open borders issue?
