This attitude sickens me. It just seems to me that the welfare entitlement attitude exists only here in the U.S. - perhaps in the UK as well? This chip on the shoulder that the government owes them something for some unknown reason.

Has anyone here travelled to the Orient? When I went to Taiwan on business, the handicapped are out in the streets working. They are not begging - they are selling gum or newspapers - and they are really handicapped - no legs pushing themselves around on a skateboard and similar handicaps.

I never saw one person begging, they were all working for their money.
