If you enjoy wasting your time listing at non-ebay auction sites then that's okay. The sells are few and far between at most of those sites. Even for multiple items listed at several sites the results hardly merit the effort involved.
Rationalize all you want but that's the way it is. Niche auctions excluded.

Pretty pathetic reply Tooltimes, and here I was hoping for some spirited debate, but I guess when push comes to shove its pretty hard to ignore the truth. Sure Ebay is on top at the moment, but build a better moosetrap and they will come, especially when the old moosetrap is slowly rotting away at the edges.

Let's see your better mousetrap? These new second-coming-of-the-Lord sites are all the same. "We'll drive thousands of customers to the site" BS lines used over and over again.

These sites haven't worked out in the past and they are not working out now and almost assuredly will not work out in the future. We've heard every carnival barker trick in the book. Secret & Proven Marketing Plans, etc. ... Yada Yada

Look at bidville the largest 3rd tier site of all. 45% of total listings are under $1.00 sport cards. Another thread over there called "bidless in bidville". eBay rocks, and yahoo is chugging along.

Ebay is the one with the traffic. That's the truth. They got that way walking over their users, Buyers and sellers. The fees have gotten so high it's hard to make money there anymore. I still use Ebay but I've moved much of my stuff to ioffer. It's free to list and you can have it on there for 60 day and relist after that. The community is great and the support is fantastic. You can use it as an inventory warehouse if nothing else. It's not an auction. It's a buy or offer on the items listed thing. You can also leave a wanted ad on stuff your looking for.
All the sites are slow at the moment. The economy is not that great and war looms on the horizon. Anyone with half a brain would keep their options open. If your going to put all your eggs in the Ebay basket your playing a losers game. Ebay cost me a ton when they changed over to Ebay motors. I moved what I could to yahoo and it kept me alive, barely. They (yahoo) promised us the world but soon lost interest. I believe there may have been a deal make with yahoo and Ebay. Who knows? Make no difference now. Enough raving,
Amen

I've moved to ioffer and am doing well. I sell Harleys, other motorcycles, hot rod and classic cars, motorcyle parts and everything else. I was at the big Greedbay when the motors fiasco happend. I had just dropped several thousand on buying out a couple bike shops. The Motors bull cost me a ton, no one could find my auctions. I went from $2,000. a week to nothing. That's when I started my own site and started to look at other sites. Went to Yahoo. that worked for a while then that went to hell too. Ioffer is building in leaps and bounds. Great community and super customer service. Anyone that thinks the Greedbay is the only game in town is a fool. They will pay the price down the line for their greed and lack of customer support. At least at ioffer you can name your price or not and you can accept or reject an offer. I'm doing okay since I moved over not like I did a couple years back but it looks like a new start for me.
Amen,
Reverend Colin
