Well, I just found my first 2 offers, of which I almost missed. I got a 'Second Notice' on the one, which caused me to find the other. I must have discarded the other emails as spam.

I am confused, however, on the process. On neither offer could I find where (or if)the prospective buyer had included my posted shipping fees in the offer; so on both offers I responded back saying that I would accept the offer plus my shipping (actual fixed cost) fee.

To try to get more familiar with the offer process, I started to place an offer on another listing and did find where there is a 'dotted circle box' to check off for shipping, but still could not figure out how (or if) the information had been transferred into the offers I received.

I know it is just probably cause this is my first time with iOffer, but I was really afraid to just accept the offers, as if their offer included shipping, I might as well as just give them the items and provide a buffet lunch with them.

What should I expect to 'see' in an offer, regarding shipping fees???

Thanks for your help.

OK, in checking back to the listing, and reviewing the 'Questions and offer history' section, I now see where it depicts the 'Shipping: Buyer Pays Additional Shipping Amount'. But for the life of me I still don't remember where that was stated in the 'offer'.

Oh well, I'm a newbie.................

Zero traffic = Zero sales = Dead site

Has the recent and sudden demise of Carnaby and Grab A Bargain made anyone else a tad gun shy about these lower level auction venues?

Seems like they are all very vulnerable to rapidly dropping from the radar screen at any time.

Besides, ioffer isn't an auction site. Its a sales site.

And some are doing fair amount of volume there...

It's not free is it? Isn't there a minimum 50 cent transaction fee on all sold auctions? On a $2 item that would be a 25% FVF wouldn't it?

I think most auction sites are really "sales sites" in actuality. You can bid on some auctions but the majority of the stuff offered are Buy It Now auction formated.

Yes, it is a little pricey for the sales fee, but I guess the no listing fee(for a standard listing) makes up for it.

The big jump from $9.99 to $10 is too much.

I've done fairly well there, and then you get a really ridiculous offer (like $30 on a $200+ item) from time to time that adds comic relief!

Are there any sites other than ebay or Yahoo that charge a listing fee? I think Players Auction for online gammers does but that is a very rare exception. To harp on a lack on listing fees at ioffer seems at least somewhat unrealistic as almost no sites charge them anyway. A standard 5% FVF would be much more exceptable for low priced items in fact. In another light though, the 50 cent fee does keep out the junk listings.

What is nice about the FVF on ioffer, is there is store and if you go in to the sellers ioffer store page you can make bundle offers using a shopping cart.
That way when the fees come in they will only be charged for the total of the store offer.
The store is FREE by the way, unlike other sites that have stores.

Yes on a very low $ item the FVF is high, however the breakeven comparison point between eBay and Ioffer is only $3.81 transaction.

For example, a $5 item would cost me 56 cents to sell - 30 cents of that being the listing fee I'd have to spend regardless of making a sale or not.

On Ioffer I'd spend 50 cents and have a definite sale.

The ability to bundle items up in a shopping cart is a big plus as well - that feature is sorely lacking in Ebay's stores making multi-item purchases difficult on buyers.

Very valid points. Ioffer has a unique edge with the free stores and shopping carts and no waiting for an auction to end.
I took the plunge and set up a store to try the waters.
I have one question though about ioffer ... isn't it open, like all other auctions and sales sites I suppose, to sellers making deals outside the venue? The only benefits to the seller to make onsite transactions would be for possible feedback and to help out the site for making the deal possible.

HI great question..no email addys,or any contact info is allowed anywhere on the site..so no offsite deals some are breaking this rule they are doing a site redesign to take care of this..

you may link to your website on your profile if you link back to ioffer..they have banners for you on the site map that link to your own store for the required link...very fair..

some auction sellers are not understanding ioffer..a few things are so important..
type in NOT AN AUCTION BUY NOW OR MAKE OFFERS..USE OUR STORE LINK TO SAVE ON MULTIPLE PURCHASES ( they save as you only PAY FVF ON ONE TOTAL THAT WAY..YOU SAVE SO MUCH you can give them a deal)some sellers of lower priced items put a min. purchase & it must be puchased through the store..be sure & check out fees on site map...a jump from 5.00 from 4.99..or 9.99 or 10.00...check it close

put that info in every listing many buyers are new too it will give you a lot more sales if you just put not an auction etc...make a profile, customize your store..rich with keywords of what you sell..ioffer gets us in the search engine you must have to words for all that traffic or you miss out..
if you get a low offer never decline.counter back..people either want to bargain or they don't understand it is not a auction..
good luck

I think ioffer will have to come up with a way to enforce that no email addresses anywhere on the site rule. The larger the number of listings the more difficult it is to enforce.

My take is that ioffer really is a bargain & haggle clone and of course it's almost parent, ewanted.com . It is a warehouse of slow moving items that kill sellers on ebay with the 30 cent minimum listing fee. The sellers buy very little of the ioffer stuff because they know there are better deals on either ebay or 1/2.com so the successful sellers there are those that can bring their own sellers to their free ioffer stores. That formula holds true for all of the smaller auction or "sales" sites.

Like most sites of it genre it has little value of getting bids brought in by the site as the advertising potential is very small but has great value as a free store where the seller can direct his ebay and Yahoo customers.
