I made a couple of mistakes on my listings tonight. I've been trying for the last 15 minutes or so to revise them. I keep getting this:
"The page cannot be displayed"

Anybody else been having this problem?
I don't list my auctions through any service.

I haven't been able to revise mine either and I'm tearing my hair out over it!!!!

I've been trying since around 8:00 PST on & off. I've been getting a slightly different error message though- my error message has been blaming it on my ISP. sheesh.

I'm sorry that you're having this problem but I sure am relieved to know I'm not the only one. I just posted all my auctions through GoTo.com & I rarely use them, so I thought maybe it somehow had something to do with them, but apparently not. But I'd love to know what the deal is- it would just figure if I got bids before having a chance to revise.

I've been trying for close to 12 hours to revise an auction & keep getting the following error.

Input Error

One of the parameters received was invalid for this function. This probably means that your browser had problems with the
form or you invoked the function incorrectly. Please go back and try again. If you're using an old bookmark, you may need to
rebookmark it due to recent changes to protect your privacy. If the problem persists, please report the problem to eBay

Me too! Same message about paremeters. I just checked in here to see if I was the only one.

I sent e-mail to support and timesensitive at eBay. One response was that I needed to update my browser to the latest version. When I wrote back to that, stating I had the latest browser, another person replied and apologized and said engineers were working on the problem. About 1:30 a.m. CST, revise was working great.

I really object that we are given an error message that does NOT apply (either an old bookmark, when one does not use bookmarks for revise, or statements about incompatibility with one's browser) and we are not told the truth. The revise feature did not work and it would have save a lot of grief if we were just told that up front.

99.9% of the time I have tried to use the Revise Feature on eBay over many years, it does not work. When I have this problem I cancel the auction and repost it properly, and ask for a credit for the auction which wouldn't revise. To date, I have normally received the credit for the revise feature not working.

Me too-- I thought something was wrong with MY computer or ISP, (although I had a sneaking suspicion it was Ebay all along)
and spent over an hour monkeying around trying to find the difficulty. I too checked the board at AW but at that time there were no posts regarding this glitch. Very clever of Ebay to show these type error messages. It doesn't "count" against them that way.

It's not just this "feature" but I've also spent 15minutes or more trying to relist an item. It's just not worth the aggravation to try & save a quarter.

And this has been going on for some time. Another way ebay keeps those listing fees coming in.

jwpc- thanks immensely for your post. I've had occasional problems revising myself. I thought it was just me. I've cancelled auctions as well & relisted but it never even occurred to me to ask for my fees back. Let alone has it occurred to me that they'd actually refund. I thought it was just one of those things you had to put up with.

I'm afraid to revise any auctions because I read somewhere, once you revise, the auction doesn't show up in search anymore.

Where did I read that? And is it still true?

I've noticed 99% of the time I can't revise or relist items through Internet Explorer. But when I go to Netscape I have no problems.

I got the same error last night I can revise them now but many don't need it. I am revising them to try to get ALL my items to show up in sellers search. I listed 352 auctions last night. All together I have 355 auctions going. Only 305 are showing up on my ebay and only 331 of them are showing up in sellers search which a lot of my customers use. So it not showing up in Sellers search is a lose of possible revune. Not that Ebay seems to care about my bottom line. Anyway When I do revise the auction (now that I can) it still does jump them into the sellers search or my Ebay anyone have any suggestions on what to do?

I can't revise either. Keep receiving the "Input Error" message. The tone of the eBay message suggests that it's my fault somehow, yet makes no mention of the fact that eBay redesigned the arrangement of the Revise page yesterday -- precisely when the "Input Errors" began.

I tried it with both Internet Explorer and Netscape (I have the latest versions of both). When I use Netscape I get the "Input Error" message and when I use IE I get the "This Page Cannot Be Displayed."

I've been trying since last night to correct a misspelling in the title of one of my auctions - just ONE letter!! - and can't do it. I am about ready to give up and just let people think I can't spell/type. I don't have the time for this.

If that "one letter" is part of a word that people search for, the results of your auction could be drastically affected. And not for the better.

I want to throttle the people at eBay who continue to institute these needless and detrimental changes. Time and again they result in downtime and lost profits for users.

spazmodeus,

This isn't just because of the latest updates. I've noticed this problem for over a month, just gave up trying to revise or relist anything.

If you sit there & hit refresh enough times, it eventually lets you in, but my time is a lot more valuable than spending even 45 minutes trying to get a relist on a $.50 item

ebay has figured out another way to keep those listing fees coming in.

eventer,

Beginning yesterday, eBay introduced a new "Revise" screen that I have never seen before. Beginning yesterday, I received "Input Error" messages, which I have never received before. Cause and effect, the way I see it.

This has been happening to me for weeks. It happens when trying to revise, relist, or back up during the verification part of a listing and make changes. Lately it has even been happening when just plain old listing.

It's very annoying, and I do hope they fix it soon.

My thoughts have been that their system must be so overburdened that it just can't accommodate all the user requests.

...the current revise problems aside, netscape works better with the eBay site than IE...about time eBay fixed that...working with IE, now that would be a useful new feature....

I'm getting the dreaded "Input Error" message when I try to revise auctions tonight.
My cache is clear, I've tossed my cookies,
I've even rebooted my machine! It givesd me the same message in Netscape 4.7 and Internet Explorer 5.0, so the problem is definitely eBay. Arghhhhh!

It's ebay, not your computer or software.

You might want to try this:

http://cgi6.ebay.co.uk/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?MfcISAPICommand=ViewListedItems&userid=xxssxx

In place of >xxssxx< put your user id and it will take you to the uk site.

In my experience in the last few weeks I haven't been able to revise my auctions. A mess -to say the least!!!

Someone a few weeks ago suggested to revise when there isn't any traffic. Seems like after some of the recent changes the traffic messes with the revisions.

Anyways early this am before going to work I tried to revise an auction and DID IT! I don't know if it was because it was done during a low traffic time or if it was because it was through the United Kingdom eBay.

Worth a try! Good Luck! (to me as well!)

Edited to change the link didn't realise the name I used was a registered user. OOOPS!!! Oh, well. I will go get the wet noodle to whip me!

I've had the same problem for the last 2 nights. I'm going to netscape not to see if it helps. But I think all that money is clogging eBay's wheels the system is not working.

It has come in handy for me on several occasions. Matter of fact I have been accessing eBay through this link.
