fetish128,

If you host your own images, don't use the ImageEvent box, use the other pic box.

If your images are within the description, just put a small clear gif or another image in the Pic box.

The AARP magazine just had a short article about alternatives to Ebay.

As they rated them, they felt that low numbers made it better for bargains (providing there were listings). Of course, sellers will eventually leave any site that doesn't get bids.

It made me go look (I was surprised that some of these were still around). So, I went back to look at epier. Still totally lame. I will usually check out different sites when it crosses my mind (or someone mentions it). I will now put a post-it on my computer reminding me not to waste any time doing so in the future.

Niche sites may be the future for some, but general sites cannot compete with eBay - if they begin to, they will only become eBay.

Does anyone else think that these non-ebay sites are mostly being used as a low or no cost web store besides me? The sites can hace a very tiny bidrate or sell rate and it doesn't really matter as the sellers are simply using the site as a personal website to send their ebay customers to.

If a seller has a lot of items the ebay insertion fees will eat him alive while waiting for just the right buyers. Instead, a better tactic may be to place only a few items on ebay and tell the winning bidders of your website/auctionsite in the EOA letters.

From What I see on all the web sites they all look like ONE Great Big K-MART or Mal-Mart.
Just go and look at the listing area on any of the sites, the same stuff is listed everywhere. Books, CD's, Movies, Toys, Tapes, Tools, Computors and the list goes on and on and on.
I see the same stuff you can get from any drop shipper on every site.

You're right there. Much of the same exact stuff is listed all over the internet. Many sellers use auction site bulk listers to load their stuff on dozens of sites. That means that Froogle will probably have most of the same exact items at close to the same price.

Is that what those Make money on ebay or the internet courses teach? List away and rake in the money. ( along with everybody and their brother ) Must be

Yes that is what the CD's are about, how to make money on the auctions selling all new stuff just like wal-mart and K-mart.

I do not need to bid on any of that type of item on the auction sites, I can go down town and get the item for less at any of the stores in town. If I need to take it back it is much easier also.
The auctions sites are loaded with ALL NEW Cheap Junk that ends up in the land full after a week or so.

I just launched www.wholesaleauctionlots.com for people that want to buy and sell new and used stuff in lots of 6 or more items. Listings are free. Since it went live this week there is not much there yet but I actually have about 300 wholesalers that I buy or sell to that have been waiting for me to release the site because selling wholesale on ebay is becoming unprofitable.
Check it out! Maria

Go checkout www.wholesaleauctionlots.com if you like to buy or sell in lots of 6 or more. This is my new site (as of 2 weeks ago) but there are 60+ lots and only a few of those are mine. The vendors there are mostly my clients and suppliers so they are good people to do business with.
