Even if I saw prime time commercials (don't hold your breath) from them I would still not give that posting any validity.

I do not believe that the Yahoo stock holders would approve any deal or want to associate their company in any way with a person that puts bounties out on their users, has a convicted felon as vice president, or a stock promoter who isn't allowed to sell stock due to fraud charges.

auctionguard~~you are probably correct. But if they sell it to Bidbay~~they would ensure it was no longer a branded Yahoo auction. This is all hypothetical of course, and I am not even suggesting that Bidbay IS actually going to buy Yahoo or Amazon. With their financial statement~~I don't see how it would be possible~~but I'm just a little ole Texas House Frau so what do I know. Now it MIGHT be possible for them to buy some of the smaller sites~~MAYBE. But the CEO of Bidbay believes it is possible and that is his and I guess some Bidbay member's perception. One of my favorite sayings is "Perception is Reality". So they are enjoying their reality for the moment.

I think you guys might have missed my post.

I have phoned the SEC here in Texas and asked them about the statement on the message board and they instructed me on how to handle this as it is not kosher.

I am in the process of doing that online and have also been invited down to the office to meet I guess the agent (I don't know what they are called) I spoke with on the phone and hand in printouts of the message.

When you file to go public, you go into what is called a quiet period. There is a good reason for this.

Well Cary~~there is another thread on the boards over there that they would be interested in. That I know for a fact is not kosher at all with the SEC~~I also have emails that back up statements made by individuals on the thread. I chose not to do anything with it because I don't have the time/energy/health/ill will to open THAT can of worms for anyone.

This is just MY opinion, I feel that everyone is playing right into the Hands of the CEO by just starting these threads with the title BIDBAY. The more exposure the guy gets the more he seems to be happy about it..bad or good. Someone said something about eBay being started and becoming so big by word of mouth. This guy likes to play mind games...the more exposure the more he likes it...Everyone is doing the advertising for him for FREE. No one really knows how many ppl from this site alone goes and signs up their after ready posts here. Whether they are neg. or pos. posts. JMHO

Oneday~~you are probably correct. It will not enter into my choice to post or not post to a thread. I could care less if folks do sign up or don't sign up to use Bidbay. I'm here to discuss issues regarding auction sites I use. I know that I signed up for Bidbay due to word of mouth/spam. I think it takes actual consistent sales and consistency in items to bid on or rose colored glasses to KEEP users of any auction site.

I think the CEO is just interested in the user base of Yahoo and the others. He'd probably shut down the actual sites but have links over to bidbay. So for example, on Yahoo home page, when you click on Auctions, you're sent directly to Bidbay.

That's what ebay did when they bought Up4Bid (or Up4Sale??).

This is the funniest thing I've read in some time. And remember that he said he's going to be calling ALL auction sites. Look out eBay.

ROTFLMAO

But this brings up an interesting thought, and one that I posted about a week ago:

Which is worth more: Pootah Dollars or BidBay Bucks?

Although I guess if BidBay really does buy out Pootah, they'll be worth the same. Wonder what the conversion rate will be..........

We've got a whole building full of these CEO-types here (our Psych facility). I think the medical term for their condition is called "delusions of grandeur". The sad thing is these people really believe what they say!

We should't be insulting them, but rather we should be offering them some help. I've heard that a short blast of 50,000 volts through the head works wonders ... brings 'em back to reality just like "that"

bidbay: I'll give you $1000!

yahoo: Sorry, I need more than that.

bidbay: ok, $10,000!

yahoo: more...

bidbay: ok, this will be my final offer then...I'll give you one zillion Bidbaby Bucks!!!!!

yahoo: wow...how much is that?

bidbay: well, one Bidbay buck is equal to one dollar.

yahoo: I'll be the richest man in the world!...hmmm...

In all seriousness, in a hypothetical world, all but ebay would probably have a reason to sell. I wonder in theory if the purpose would be to move all listings to one site or rather to do something like fairmarket and have several sites of input under one search engine.Furthermore, what is to stop anybody here from starting an auction site of your own knowing that you could turn a quick profit because a buyer is out there.
Further thoughts, it would be nice to see something like this happen as I think it would prevent the ever present Edecay from its Napoleon like march to take over the world.

Well I'm back mrfanini.

I would like to point out one thing. The controversy is not because of me...don't shoot the messenger.

I didn't create this controversy I am just pointing it out.

If you have a problem with controversy then I suggest you examine the alliances you have chosen.

mrfanini,

quit trying to play detective.

Apparently I was right about somebody hiring you.

The name you know me by is the correct one.

You are using my father's name which anyone with common sense could find out by looking at our about me page on eBay as we work together in selling on eBay.

Well I guess I should be really scared now...LOL
