Wasn't it the Admiral's daughter.... whose Naval base was full of seamen?

George Clooney. Love him, too. He was the main reason I watched ER when it first came out. They are showing reruns of the first episodes of ER and he's on every one of them!

classic- us liberals appreciate our military as much as anyone else. we just don't like our military put into harms way for what we believe are the wrong reasons. i would rather have my friends alive, than know they died in vain. nothing more, nothing less.

Classic:

Yeah, when ya enter boot camp, it's as an SR, and, when ya graduate CG BOOT CAMP, it is as an SA...6 mos later you can take the test for Seaman. For E-4 and above, ya have to go to school, or tie knots & become a BM (LOL!)!

(course this was way back during the WAR of 1812, so things may have changed greatly since?)

LOL good one Tom-for all you non service people a BM is Boastwains Mate. They were 3rd class petty officers and above that maintained the deck force of the ship.Besides seaman we also had a rate called coxain mate, who drove small craft (ie-landing craft)I think the Navy could have chosen better terms for their employees LOL
