And what was the cause of that breakup with #2, Bebo? I hope it wasn't something as trivial as refusing to buy you a new TV.

#2 was boring and didn't have enough ambition for my liking.

So....didn't anyone hear IF TomC actually ate his wife's placenta as was reported he said he was going to do?

That's pretty sick, imo. And I've EVER heard of anyone saying they were going to do so.

The doc on Fox News that was talking about it...when asked what might happen if TC did....he kind of laughed and said Tom would get more estrogen. LOL

Now he'll be even more feminine IF he did. Hard to imagine that.

What???? Man, that's the funniest thing I've ever read!!

Double, don't get me wrong. I think Tom's rude. I don't think anyone cares that much about his beliefs, but when he screamed at Matt Lauer and Brooke Sheilds about theirs, I thought he was out of touch and close minded.

The sad thing is, that when I first heard it, I thought it was the most ridiculous thing I had ever heard, but I didn't put it beyond him.

For the sake of retaining an apetite, I have chosen to believe his response when asked about it last week on 20/20, that he never said it.

In an interview with GQ Magazine, Cruise, 43, announced: "I'm gonna eat the placenta. I thought that would be good. Very nutritious. I'm gonna eat the cord and the placenta right there."

He later played down his comments, telling a television audience: "We're not eating it." But by then, the debate over what some parenting websites call " placenta etiquette" had already been ignited.

Placentophagy, the eating of the placenta after birth, is common among mammals - and also in some human cultures.

Followers of Chinese medicine prepare it with rice wine, herbs and ginger before the mixture is dried, and it is then taken in capsules three times a day by the mother during the first month after birth.

And it became popular in some circles in the West during the 1970s, when it was associated with "earth mothers".

Adherents of the practice believe that the placenta can help to prevent post-natal depression because it is rich in minerals and nutrients, particularly vitamin B6, which is know to ward off depression.

Some believe that men and close family who eat the placenta feel more bonded with the baby.

Some German women mix their placentas into clarified butter and use it to treat their babies' skin ailments.

The television chef Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall caused outrage in 1998 when his TV Dinners programme showed him making a paté out of a woman's placenta, which was then eaten by her and her family. The Broadcasting Standards Commission censured the programme, saying it had "breached a convention" and that some complainants had compared it to cannibalism. The chef said he was happy with his creation, which he said tasted "not unlike tripe".

Others have compared it to beef or foie gras.

One woman on the British website Mothers 35 Plus tells how her placenta was put in a blender with a glass of V8 fruit juice and served to her by her midwife.
"To my delight and surprise, it was great!" she wrote.
"I felt myself filling up, taking back what I had created for baby's use while in the womb. I felt very natural, like a mama cat."

Not all experts believe that eating the placenta will do any good. Maggie Blott, of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, said: " Animals eat their placenta to get nutrition, but when people are already well-nourished, there is no benefit. There is no reason to do it."

He is taking a lot of grief from the American College of Radiology about the ultrasound equipment.

He thinks it is cute to be able to turn the ultrasound on and watch the baby but what he didn't know is that he could put that baby in jeopardy.

Ultrasound hasn't been around long enough to give major statistics as to what can happen to the baby. It takes at least 20 years to compile statistics. When they first came out ultrasound's were performed all the time until they realized that babies were born and many had hearing problems. Then they limited it to two during pregnancies. According to Tom he had it on 24/7.

How ironic that Brook Shields also had her baby the same day.

You're right, Libra. Too many people take a good thing [ultrasounds] and abuse them. Not realizing their potential danger.
--------

I wonder IF Brook was induced or went into natural labor. With the stars, you never know. I've read that they don't like going full term...as they don't want to get stretch marks...so if they have C-sections...that often prevents more stretching.

----------

On TC eating the placenta and cord...to me it sounds no different than cannibalism. yuk....big time
