I believe this to be true. The polution here in New York is so bad, I cant even step out side to have a cigarette without smelling that sh*t.

"and abide by international law and in this case it's failure to adhere to polution standards by comparison to other countries who also fail or fail worse."
What "law" would that be??
US regulations are tougher than most places on the globe. US air quality has posted nothing less than dramatic gains in the past several decades.

lol....yeah, helen...what law? Can't answer the question?
-----------------
And that's also exactly why I'm glad this President REFUSED to sign that treaty. He knew it was unfair and would damage our economy.
Just like it's beginning to cost the countries that DID sign it MUCH more than they EVER thought it would. LOL
NOW..a couple of them are talking about NOT being able to meet the levels they thought they would be able to.
So...THIS President WAS right ...from the beginning and didn't put our Nation in that HUGE debt in order to meet those unreasonable requirements.
I also would never support it until ALL Nations were required to follow the SAME EXACT terms. This nonsense of letting China and India off the hook while holding the US to different standards was nuts. And this President was wise enough to KNOW that.

Washington: Then I'm guessing you don't have grandchildren? How can you not care?
Anybody see one of the cable news shows tonight on global warming. The arctic icebreaker boats and crews report there are baby walruses swimming around without their mothers, who've apparently left them behind in their quest to find ice to live on.
It's real and it's here. Don't give a f---k if you don't want to. Typical American. So selfish.
I guess I'm on my broom tonight. . . .

Do I think there is Global warming? Yes, but it has been warming since the last ice age. It is natural.

I agree with Ron.

Plus why do people like roadsmith ONLY put the blame on US for not giving a ....? They don't get upset with the countries that are much worse polluters than we are....nope...they're the typical 'blame American first' crowd.
helen too.

Linda: I don't just blame Americans. But I happen to live in America and hear these "don't care" comments. Friends in other countries DO care; I haven't heard one say he thinks global warming is a myth or that it isn't a serious issue.
We Americans consume so much of the world's resources, drive the big gas guzzlers, buy stuff we don't need in packages that get thrown away, don't recycle, etc. etc. Heads in the sand. (Not all, of course; there are many like our family who do care.)
What will it take? Half of Florida underwater? Ditto all our coastal areas? If we think New Orleans was a disaster, imagine that multiplied a thousandfold.

Squirrel, I said,
It's funny how you right-wingers always try to negate the obligation of your administration to support and abide by international law and in this case it's failure to adhere to polution standards by comparison to other countries who also fail or fail worse. The United States of America has more political, economic and military power than any other country in the world. When Bush tries to justify the use of torture, illegal wars and pollution of the world he is sending a message to other countries that torture, illegal invasion of soverign nations and pollution is OK.
When quoted in context, my statement should be clear, even to you.

When defending the US against further terrorist attacks, the gloves come off. You play by the rules to win.

She doesn't want us to defend ourselves bear.....I'd go so far as to say she's siding with those who want us to allow that crazy hama's leader in Iran to have nuclear weapons.
After all, they're ONLY going to use them for energy purposes.
They'd never use them to threaten or wipe Israel off the face of the planet.
Boy....now THAT might cause some 'global warming and global dimming'.

LoL Linda - self-absorption is one of your best traits! If your house was on fire, you'd be arguing with the firemen about who's fault the fire was instead of trying to help put it out. Many have pointed this out to you and it still flies over your head. LOL.
