Clapton...BB King...Harry Connick, Jr. and unfortunately, White Stripes (coming from the basement at an annoyingly high pitch)

Widespread Panic... Hands down the best live band currently on the road. We are seeing them July 11 in Eugene, OR and July 13 just outside of Portland. We were planning on two shows up near Seattle too, but may not make it.

Some people think they are Grateful Deadish, but that is a horrible comparison. Think more like a mix of Santana and The Allman Bros while adding a hint of Bob Dylan, Mark Knofler, JJ Cale, and the Talking Heads. They only thing Grateful Deadish about them is that they are improvisational and never play the same song two shows in a row.

If you get a chance to check them out, please do yourself a favor and do. They currently hold the longest streak of Sellout Shows at Red Rocks in Colorado, somewhere around 30 shows over 12 years.

Their website is www.widespreadpanic.com. They just came out with a new album two weeks ago.

They also love to have Special Guests join them on stage... Carlos Santana, Art Neville, Bob Weir, Bruce Hornsby, members of REM, Dave Matthews, Dirty Dozen Brass Band, North Mississippi Allstars, Herbie Hancock, Jorma Kaukonen (Hot Tuna/Jefferson Airplane), Robby Kreiger (the Doors), Taj Mahal, and the list goes on and on and on. You simply won't find a group of musicians who are so grounded, friendly, and entertaining.

LOL profe...White Stripes is in the basement for a reason! There are also sounds of The Black Keys and ELO emanating from there. If I toss them out of the house I will have to cut my own grass. Ear plugs are a wiser alternative.

BTW , on a side note...the kid loves the Mac and sends his thanks for the advice

Dwight's okay as long as he keeps his hat on and tilts it low.........I love those tight, tight pants and the way he moves his legs ......... hahahaha

I still like this song from years ago with the video of the girls hanging from the celing in those swings ....

So turn it on, turn it up, turn me loose
From the memory that's driving me lonely, crazy and blue
It helps me forget her, so the louder the better
Hey mister, turn it on, turn it up, turn me loose
Yeah, mister, turn it on, turn it up, turn me loose

got back this morning...good concert. He did a very nice tribute to Buck Owens, about 6 of his biggest hits. He talked quite a bit about his relationship with Owens, I didn't know he was sort of Yoakam's mentor, but listening to his music it makes sense. Big crowd at the outdoor amphitheatre in Flagstaff, that's a nice venue this time of year. Temp in the 70's and misty rain. They sure are proud of their beer, though. Maybe I don't get out enough.
