So, you object to something that you feel is wrong for your society, and that means you are personally threatened? I am not talking about homosexuality, but rather it's acceptance and mainstreaming.

Interesting.

Try to read what I wrote one more time. Slowly this time.

"It's the thought that it's all right to be queer and that to some of our not so bright population, it's accepted. "

It’s not alright. They have a choice in living the lifestyle they have chose. Just like alcoholics choose whether to drink or not. Addicted gamblers choose to gamble or not, drug addicts choose to do drugs or not. This brings me back to the reason I believe homosexuality is a mental or physiological illness.

Do you think alcoholics, drug addict and the likes should do what they do without repercussion?

-----<>-----<>-----<>-----<>-----
Here's some things I do find threatening and/or scary:

The thought that the world can live in peace.

The thought that the United States would be a better and safer place if Gun laws were stronger.

Stupid people.

The idea that all people deserve the same thing (Socialism or Communism)

Most of those that are on welfare. (Not all but most)

Catering to Drug addicts and prisoners.

There's a lot more but this is a good start.

Amen,

Since you asked, yes.

Hope you get an answer from the mouth breather.

Here is the real issue when it comes to gays and how people percieve them. I believe that most really could care less if someone is gay or for that matter a drug addict or a wino either as long as they don't stick their problem or lifestyle in their faces or try to force anyone to accept them.

Leastwise, that is the way that I think about it. You wanna be gay or a druggy or a wino then go ahead but do it over there and stay the heck away from me.

Where things start to go askew is when some try to force the issue by either dragging religion into it or by attempting to make someone who is religious look like a hypocrite by placing words in peoples mouths that lived thousands of years ago and wrote a book called the bible.

Using religion as a means of attacking people that are against the gay lifestyle is, in my opinion, a really stupid move. You ain't ever gonna convince the religious people away from their beliefs.

When gays stick their lifestyle in peoples faces by demanding acceptance and hollering we wanna get married and enjoy all the benifits of everyone else and demand that the laws be changed, it will always be a fight.

It will always be a fight because afterall, it really is a fight between Conservatism and Liberalsm. Liberals think they can continue to shove their political beliefs down peoples throats and force the issue of gay marriage into the mainstream and people should just belly under and allow it because they want it. That tired, old dog ain't ever gonna hunt.

I agree with the part that people are not going to allow the gay life style shoved in their faces.
One thing gays keep forgetting is that no one has a "right" to be married. It is some thing you have to apply for and not everyone can be married even straights have restrictions.
If they hadn't fought for marriage, I believe most people would of accepted civil unions or something not marriage but would have given them some of things they wanted, but the backlash from their protests and illegal activities has made even civil unions in some states now an impossibility. States are even going so far as to not allow that also. Maybe in 50-60 years it will be more acceptable to be gay, but I think the gays are now finding out that their lifestyle is not as acceptable as they thought it was.
