The fun times we're before your day ~ in the days of zilvy and NYCRocker and spazmodeus, and many others.
Helen could probably find you oodles of fun threads (she is tuly amazing with that!) but the threads that I enjoyed the most were light and easy and pretty silly ~ probably not of interest to you other than for dissection purposes.
Unfortunately, somewhere along the way respect at the Round Table became optional. While playful banter and educated insight is appreciated, the constant confrontation and twisting of words really makes most people uncomfortable.
This was a heavily populated and widely diverse international forum just a few years back, most of us chose to walk away.

Most left when the CC rule came about. Afterwards things were okay here until the war in Iraq and then it became very divided. I suppose some of us could keep mum on our thoughts just to keep the peace and pretend to agree with almost everything the other side says, including that daily progress is being made in Iraq and that Bush is a man of great vision. Then perhaps we wouldn't be labeled as often and our morals wouldn't be questioned. Of course a certain amount of daily sucking up and groveling would be required also.
