Perhaps some liberals here would enjoy reading how other liberals see the Iraq report as being worth pretty much NOTHING.
"While the democratic party complains about everything THIS President does to protect our Nation": "What would a Democrat president have done at that point?"

Yes Linda it's going to take alot to turn around this mess your president and his administration got us into. There are no good answers. It's a failed mission, was from the start, and all you can do is say Dems this and Libs that. Such a sad little neocon you are.

Only people like you choco would see achieving several of our goals as 'making a mess'.
We removed saddam from power. As per clintons administration legislation.
We've freed clos to 50 MILLION people.
That, is NOT 'nothing'.
It's normal for there to be war when people are struggling against their OPPRESSORS....like the AQ and other factions in Iraq who don't WANT the Iraqi people to be free.
Never understood how so many people like you have forsaken the old dem party lines....and now you're afraid to do anything. Except put your hands out to big brother to 'give you more'...give you more.

No surprise there.
Top Democrats rebuff calls to cut off war funds
By Christina Bellantoni
THE WASHINGTON TIMES
December 6, 2006
Top Democrats in Congress are ignoring calls from within their caucus to eliminate funding for troops in Iraq, a strategy some say is necessary to end U.S. involvement in the war.
"There is only one way in which the United States will withdraw from Iraq prior to the end of President Bush's term," said Rep. Dennis J. Kucinich, Ohio Democrat. "Congress must vote to cut off funds."
Democratic leaders flatly rejected the idea yesterday, insisting they will move to "change the course" of the war but will continue to appropriate money to support the troops fighting in Iraq.
The Democrats won back the House and Senate leadership in large part with staunch opposition to the Iraq war, but many worry that cutting off funding would seem unpatriotic.
"My only real comment is you have to support the troops," incoming House Armed Services Committee Chairman Ike Skelton said about the Kucinich proposal. The Missouri Democrat initially supported the war but now wants gradual troop withdrawal.
Mr. Kucinich is trying to convince his colleagues that resolutions to withdraw troops have no legal effect as long as the president receives appropriations to continue the war. He said Congress must "force a new direction" in Iraq.
"Even a substantial reduction of funds could leave open the door for a legal claim that Congress still intends to keep troops in Iraq," said Mr. Kucinich, a Democratic presidential contender in 2004.

a FAILED democratic presidential contender, I will add - there's a reason for his failure.
Does anyone beside cheryl EVER really listen to what that jerk says?

Good grief! What outrageous ignorance and misinformation! We have destroyed a country and killed over 600,000 people and while waging the battle attracted terrorists to a country that had none to begin with. Now, there will be no peace there for years, if ever.,,,and you call that freedom???

oh yes, now we get to listen to all hellens anti-american blame game.
ALWAYS blame America first....that's hellens position. She doesn't believe freedom means a thing to those who don't have it....nor all those Iraqi's we're fighting right along with to KEEP their freedom....establish their democracy.
None from the 'blame America first group'...nor from the 'admit defeat and run' group...that helen leads here....would EVER be able to grasp what FREEDOM and liberty mean to those who DON'T have it....but WANT IT.
JFK knew and supported American policy to SPREAD liberty and FREEDOM to all nations....therefore bringing more peace to the world. Obviously helen just doesn't 'get' it.
But then....that's helen

Obviously Linda is very unaware of what is happening in Iraq. Unbelievable!
Linda, a few years ago I suggested you pack your bags and go over there and get a taste of their freedom. I dare you to go there now and start telling them all how you freed them!
posted on December 6, 2006 05:08:00 PM new Linda, It's a shame that no one can post here without a nasty blast of ignorance from you. But there will always be someone here to poke you and you will respond like a stuck pig and then they will poke you again and you will squeal again and so it goes.
It's really funny to hear a radical right-wing nut like you utter the good name of John F. Kennedy who was the most liberal president in the history of the United States.

LOL....no need to go there....their own government leaders have THANKED US for freeing them....removing saddam...and many other things we've done for their people.
That you anti-war crazies REFUSE to live in reality is NOT my problem.
Anti-American's are those, imo, who continually wish to see America FAIL/LOSE...and who are always putting the blame on OUR [American] actions rather than those who ARE the ones who are and have destroyed Iraq. American's have been helping Iraqi's REBUILD their country. The AQ, other anti-freedom muslims, etc. are the ones destroying it.
But the helens of this Nation NEVER EVER blame them. Nope...anything that isn't right they BLAME on America. They call our troops TERRORISTS....as helen agreed with...tsk tsk tsk. But they support our troops. LOL LOL LOL No way is that support.
And then they have the gall to call themselves patriots???? What a laugh that is.

And I think it's even funnier, helen, that you have some FALSE sense that you are closer to what JFK believed in/supported than I. LOL LOL LOL
That just wouldn't be true.
He was the last dem president with a willingess to DEFEND this great nation of ours.
HE supported freedom and liberty all over the world.
My favorite JFK quote:
"[i]Let every nation know, whether it wishes us well or ill, that we shall pay any price, bear any burden, meet any hardship, support any friend, oppose any foe to assure the survival and the success of liberty[b]."
John F. Kennedy
Which is EXACTLY what we're now doing in Iraq.
AND most importantly HE believed in GOD....he was not an atheist like you.
So take you're: "It's really funny to hear a radical right-wing nut like you utter the good name of John F. Kennedy who was the most liberal president in the history of the United States"......
and know you're WRONG once again. He wasn't a ted kennedy, nancy pelosi, dennis kucinich, john kerry liberal.....NOT AT ALL.
But at least he did have his head on straight when it came to wanting to SPREAD liberty and freedom to ALL.

No, linduh, you may have pointed out what YOU thought was a lie because anything anyone says that doesn't agree with your thinking is a lie according to you.
However, Gates said , "No".
It's a fact...it's been in ALL the news....it's a fact......
If you think it's only half of what he said then you must think he only uttered two words in his whole life....that's just not logical but then logic is totally missing from your excuse of a brain
posted on December 7, 2006 10:14:59 AM new
Well, even linduh should have seen the tape by now, the one where Gates is asked if we're winning the war in Iraq and he says no.
Or maybe she thinks it's a conspiracy by left-wing Democrat liberal media who dubbed in the words .....and what he REALLY said was "Yes, F--- you!"
After all , there was NOBODY there to verify what he said and report on it....NOBODY....ROFLMAO!!!
posted on December 7, 2006 10:25:41 AM new
Gates clarified his statement KNOWING full well that some idiot liberal would use his words against HIS BOSS. lol Just as SOME have. lol

Now I hope the President's press conference with Tony Blair this morning put your minds at ease about our cutting and running from Iraq.

I like Ann Coulters opening paragraph on her article yesterday:
Too true:
The "bipartisan" Iraq panel has recommended that Iran and Syria can help stabilize Iraq. You know, the way Germany and Russia helped stabilize Poland in '39.
Now that Democrats have won the House, they can concentrate on losing the war. Despite all the phony conservative Democrats who got elected as gun-totin' hawks, the Democrats will uniformly vote to dismantle every aspect of the war on terrorism. They've started a runaway train and can't stop it now.

I would say that I care a great deal more for American life than I do Iraqi democracy. The Iraqis have failed miserably even to make a beginning of being able to take care of themselves politically and see after their own internal security. Such has been the case for thousands of years throughout the Middle East region. The US is no more capable of nation building now than it was in Vietnam, especially after our total failure to build an effective and broad based coalition. The US decided to go it basically alone and so here we are now.
The US has no God given right to impose democracy or any other form of government on any other people nor do we have an obligation to provide such. Seems to me that we are now failing miserably to provide real democracy for the American people with all these so called limitations on our rights because of so called terrorism. Maybe we should start implementing democracy at home and lead by example?
Of course Iran and Syria are going to exercise influence in the Middle East, they are IN THE REGION, we are not. We would have zero interest in that part of the world save for their oil reserves and we all know that. We have absolutely NO charitable motives for being in Iraq. If a true representation of ALL America was represented in the US military forces presently being slaughtered in Iraq, including upper middle class and wealthy, as was the case in Vietnam, our rears would be exiting with the speed of lightning.
Dubya has excrement all over himself from this little adventure, the only question is if he is going to take a shower, put on some deodorant and try to salvage some piece of his dignity before he is ushered out of the White House in January 09.

Hey,
What part of NO doesn't the beast understand?
BTW,I heard on the radio today that people are starting to plan Bushy's Library after his Presidency. The plans show room for only 2 books the only books Bushy ever read.
Their titles are "No Cure for New-Con Stupid" written by Stone and "Having God's Ear" written by Liar_k Beast.
You don't have to buy these books because both authors Stone and Liar_k beast have published several chapters right here on this board.
