Mingo, thanks for warning me about the internet.
are you of age to be playing on the world wide web?
Just asking since you seem to have this overwhelming desire to pick people apart.
I question the maturity of an adult who insults of childishly making fun of someones name. LindUH. Aren't you a clever???
So maybe you can learn something from me?
As if you haven't already clicked on the link, I'm not new here. Thanks for the pleasant welcome, anyway.
Kiara
I enjoy your posts (still!)
so you come here for the entertainment value?
Guess I just don't see it

Zoomin - You know helen and I have gone round and round for years now. Use to be it was ONLY between her and I. Now...it's like all liberals have lost control of their behavior. And they do REAL well in packs.
I agree...when you have two posters on opposing sides...it can and does make for interesting discussion.
But somewhere down the line the 'angry left' that has often been mentioned in the press....lost control.
They are now filled with such high degrees of out-and-out hatred over this President and his authority....that they can't reason about anything. They go into personal attack mode immediately - rather than stay issue focused.
I can't change that. I can only ignore it or react to it. I'd much rather debate/discuss...but as anyone can see....they refuse to do so. It's just all this juvenile garbage.
Another problem I see here is that when one acts totally inappropriately instead of anyone mentioned how outrageous their behavior is...they join in with the childlike poster.
That, imo, only encourages more of the same.
I haven't come across many on the left [liberals] who are willing to have a good debate. They won't answer questions put to them...but demand theirs are answered.
I quit playing that game a long time ago. One can quickly see who is just playing and who would like to have an adult discussion. And sadly, there are few who wish to act like the intelligent adults they believe themselves to be.
==============
BUT.... if you'd like to have a conversation with me on this topic....I'm willing.

I've never had a problem with Linda's posts.
Somehow I read them differently than the rest of you.
If you remember, I'm not as politially charged as the rest of you so maybe that is why I can't see what you are referring to.
I'm thinking about putting Mingo on ignore, though.
Zommin, Perhaps you remember Linda's posts from years ago when she was not so rude and nasty.
Sometimes when you are dealing with someone so nasty you start to wallow in the muck too. I'll admit that we do need to avoid responding to her remarks in kind... somehow. But so long as Linda refuses to take responsibility for her obnoxious insults and the disruption that she causes, I suspect the battle will continue unchanged for those who stay.

Zoomin, I've been with AW/Vendio since the beginning and I do find entertainment here. I don't discuss as many serious topics anymore because of the disruptions and rantings and twisting of my words and it became a job trying to constantly keep up with it. Being accused of having low moral character and being labeled wrongly over and over by those who don't even know me got to be tiresome.
I enjoy reading what some of the posters have to offer and sometimes depending on my mood it's best to sit back and read instead of being in the midst of it constantly.

Helen & Linda:
Yes, I remember this banter going waaaaay back.
I used to actually enjoy the dialogue between the two of you since you each presented such extremes!
again, I plead ignorance.
(yes, I'm sure that line will get cut&pasted and thrown in my face)
I don't see anything wrong with the intial post on this thread and it could be a great topic of discussion, yet no one responds other than to bash each other.
why???

OH zoomin" I'm wounded to the quick!
Well, I'm glad linduh found a soul mate, someone who can come in here , whine and complain about it(zoomin, you might want to check out the description of passive aggresive, it's so you...),
just SO they can whine and complain about it ..LOL!
Kinda twisted to force yourself to go to place you don't like just so you can complain about not liking it ??????

See....zoomin....that's all mingotree/crowfarm has EVER had to offer here. She will not or cannot stay topic focused. Just can't.
And her anger is vented here each and everyday...against anyone who doesn't see life the way she does.
The 'why' of it, imo, is because the liberals were really angry when this President was re-elected.
They just knew that since he was 'given' the 2000 election by the USSC [their false reasoning ] that he'd lose for sure in 2004. When that didn't come about AND both Houses were in the control of the republicans...they just went nuts. Haven't been able to accept that nor the Iraq war.
Now that the Houses have both changed hands....one might think they'd be happier. But that hasn't turned out to be the case....at least to this point in time. There's always hope though

Have to agree with Colin on this one.
You guys are out of control.
There is so much anger and hostility around here, maybe it's time to just shut the round table down.
This isn't a place where anyone wants to come and have a discussion or share an opinion, it's just a place where you guys put on your tuff guy leather jackets and beat the cr*p out of each other like a bunch of high school dirtbags.
Get over it and move on """"
"dirtbags " is clever????
Are you linduh's sock puppet...you have the same
"poor me, the big bad liberals pick on me even though I am full of love and never do anything wrong but I like abuse so I'll stay here forever and take it""
attitude.
You have the same P/A method of attack...lots of things are the same.....
But I'll know you aren't linduh if you ever say anything intelligent.

I'm a liberal, mingo, sorry to burst your bubble.
I wasn't forced to come back, nor do I whine and complain.
just askin a few questions in attempt to understand the degradation of this place, sorry if you feel there is more to my posts that what I type. Itend to wear my colors on my sleeve so there is no need to read between the lines in search of something that isn't there.

Mingo:
was that a zoomi a typo or have I been endeared to you now?
no, I'm not linda. I'm just me
guess my telling you that I'm a liberal cleared that up!
well, gotta get myself ready for the holidays ~ four kids and Chanukkah starting. Gotta figure out which presents are for the tree and which are for the menorah!

Don't attack zoomin, Mingo. She's a peacemaker.
Zoomin once said, "I truly enjoy a good debate. A meeting of the minds ~ IMO, enlighten me, share with me, learn from our differences. But, the personal attacks? what for? One of the key elements for any communication is respect." "I can respect that you have a different opinion than I do. I can respect your experiences, your beliefs, your ideas. I do not respect vicious attacks on posters ~ we are each entitled to our opinions ~ one opinion is no more wrong than another.
Good words for everyone to remember! And that includes LINDA! Especially LINDA.

You might just set a great example for the other liberals here....how to have civil conversation.
They could learn from your example. God...what a gift that would be.
That's what I've always admired about you Zoomin....you can be civil in disagreement. And you are.
But you're sure throwing ol. mingo a lot of curve balls this morning. If anyone states things as they see them...and she doesn't agree....they're automatically either linda posting under a different userid or their right-winged nuts. lol lol lol
This might really make her THINK for a change...but I won't hold my breath.

wow Helen! You can find everything, can't you?!?
I miss the old search button!
Ironic that you call me a peacemaker ~ I actually came here looking for a thread on the peace wreath a few weeks ago.
i was curious as to the opinions of the posters here.
Didn't find the thread and saw too much hostility to start one. (I'm not the type to start a post and lurk)
mingo:
what question didn't I answer?
linda:
I always enjoy your point of view, whether I agree with it or not, it still has merit and value.
I guess that is TOO liberal of me according to a few others but it is what it is

Back to the topic...
In addition to this legislation supporting gay unions, New Jersey also passed a Stem-Cell bill in which they authorized $270 million worth of bonds for stem-cell reasearch projects. The first stem cell reasearch centers in New Brunswick, Newark and Camden are expected to generate 1 billion in economic activity and create thousands of jobs.

zoomin, I've seen it before...somebody shows up in a chat room, sees poor widdle linduh getting picked on, knows absolutely no history whatsoever, and jumps to defend the poor old thing....and they end up getting scorched by the fire breathing dragon....

Do those who support the denial of rights to gays in America resemble Nazi's? There must be some commonality of purpose or thinking. Like Nazis they think of gay sexual orientation as a moral issue and somehow a danger to their concept of marriage.
posted on December 16, 2006 07:14:39 AM new
I am gay and I have a problem with the militant homosexuals and their incessant push for "marriage."
I live in a real world, where everything is not perfect and not fair. Where racial minorities are discriminated against even today and women are discriminated against even today and women DO make up the majority. Another excellent example to me, again, THAT LIFE AINT FAIR.
I am also not naive to the ways of the world and how people can and often do battle on the legal front. I think it serves the agenda of those who seek to deny gay men and women ANY LEGAL RECOGNITION AND PROTECTION of their relationships, IF it can be made to be all about MARRIAGE.
All one has to do is look at the last few years since DOMA and the multiple US States that have passed state constitutional bans on same sex marriage. Are you aware that not only was same sex marriage banned, but OFTEN AND ESPECIALLY IN THE SOUTH, legal recognition of DOMESTIC PARTNERSHIPS AND CIVIL UNIONS AS WELL?
The militant homosexuals have been played beautifully and they even have a smile on their gay pride faces. They have their good fight and cause, their slogans for their signs for when they march and for their T-Shirts and topics for their speakers for their rallies, they seem to have it all, EXCEPT FOR THE FREAKING BASIC LEGAL RIGHTS!
Demand ALL OR NOTHING and most time, YOU GET NOTHING.

And of course the Republican party can use the idea of gay marriage as a wedge issue, knowing that most Aftican Americans have a conservative viewpoint on this issue.
