You must be right [BIG EYEROLL here]....

because I sure don't see where your ambassador is said to be ANY WHERE other than in Iraq.

Probably in Baghdad in the GREEN ZONE/safe zone.

Don't see a mention of him traveling around to all the areas that my sources DID travel through.

But hey...you've been KNOWN to 'see things' before....things that AREN'T really there.....never happened.

Have fun. But you can't deny the experiences of OTHERS who HAVE been there...and did report what they ACTUALLY SAW...not 'heard' about what was happening outside the green zone.

I knew you couldn't read with your very limted education so try to get someone to read the following to you:

"""From the start of his eight months in Baghdad, Lamani struck a different approach.

He chose not to live in the city's heavily guarded Green Zone,

where the U.S. and British embassies are and where many diplomats stay. He said he wanted to have "contact with all levels of Iraqis."

Distancing himself from the Green Zone also would boost his credibility with Iraq's Sunni Arab minority, which views the district as a symbol of American domination of Iraq.

The choice meant he was in constant danger, though. With no security team for the villa where he lived and worked, Lamani depended on Kurdish guards assigned to protect the Foreign Ministry next door. He traveled in an unarmored car "many were calling me suicidal for that," he said until the Arab League provided an armored one seven months into his mission. """

Nope.....re=read all THREE copy and pastes you made in this thread....and NONE of them have the same info. that your last post here did. NONE.

Did you not copy and paste full articles that you copied and pasted???? You don't give links anymore....most of the time you don't even say who your source was.....

.....but the words from your last post ARE NOT in the three partial copy and pastes you've made in this thread.

Secondly.....baghad is only ONE city in Iraq. The info. YOU referenced ONLY says Iraq. It doesn't mention he traveled OUTSIDE of Baghdad.

Or maybe you could also show me where in those three copy and pastes it says THAT either.

No, it came from the diplomat thread and you know it...it was the diplomat YOU referred to so don't pretend you don't know who I'm talking about.

linduh, someday you're just going to HAVE to give up...the whole world knows Iraq is one big mess ...yup, maybe they built a school or a police station here and there but for BILLIONS AND BILLIONS of dollars most of which NEVER went into helping Iraq but due to Repug lack of oversight simply disappeared....??

LOL....so now you're pretending to be a MIND READER

Like I said...you should have just taken your meds.

I couldn't figure out which diplomat you were referring to....thus my re-reading the three copy and pastes you'd made. What you were accusing me of not being able to READ ...didn't make ANY since to be at all.

Come to find out....it WASN'T even in THIS thread
it was in another thread.

Boy you are disorganized mentally.

Until you posted the last copy and paste and I was FULLY aware you weren't talking about ANYTHING you mentioned in THIS thread - I knew you'd lost your mind again.

Just take some DEEP breaths....CALM down....take your meds.....and then TRY to remain FOCUSED on ONE thread at a time....rather than doing what you do so well.....talking in one thread about something you've talked about in another thread.

That's NOTHING but a very sad sign of a mixed up mind.

One that can't stay focused....

Try harder next time.

But don't try to lay the blame on me for not comprehending something YOU didn't EVEN post in this thread - accusing ME of not being able to read it when it's not EVEN THERE.

I know you thought it might work.....but I know you all too well. You're always hopping from one thread to another repeating what you've already said in the first one.

It's YOUR mind not functioning properly....NO ONE elses fault.

But it was GREAT for a laugh.

And you continuing to make up MORE garbage doesn't change that FACT.

If Mingotree uses a C&P from another thread Iraq is making great progress !!!

Please, linduh , call the president ! QUICK! HE thinks things are going very badly in Iraq...and so does the rest of the world...so call quick and let the world (and Iraq) know how wrong they are and YOU have proof right here.....Mingotree assumed linduh could handle more than one thread at a time !!!! THERE that proves everything is just fine in Iraq!

I didn't read every post plus I never waste my time by reading any of Liar_k's posts.

If this is about progress in BUSHY's INVASION of Iraq what's up with having 5 of our helicopters shot down in 2 weeks.

It raised the American Troop death toll by 7 overnight. We now have 3111 dead American Troops.

More of that "progress" in Iraq :

"""Fifth U.S. chopper goes down in Iraq, killing 7
POSTED: 6:26 p.m. EST, February 7, 2007
Story Highlights• Seven crew members, passengers killed when helicopter went down
• Insurgent group claims responsibility for shooting down the chopper
• Military concerned that insurgents are getting better at downing helicopters

Adjust font size:
BAGHDAD, Iraq (CNN) -- Seven people were killed Wednesday when a Marine helicopter crashed outside Baghdad, the U.S. military said.

Crew members and passengers were on the CH-46 Sea Knight when it went down in Anbar province. The military said the cause of the crash is under investigation.

It was the fifth U.S. helicopter to go down in Iraq in almost three weeks. (Watch smoke and flames spew from the downed chopper )

An umbrella insurgent group claimed responsibility for downing the helicopter and "burning it down completely," according to a claim posted on various Islamist Web sites.

CNN was unable to confirm the authenticity of the statement from the group, which includes al Qaeda in Iraq.

The Internet posting says that "the defense air brigade of the Islamic state of Iraq" shot down a Chinook helicopter in the Karma region of Anbar province, near Falluja.

The U.S. military said the chopper was a CH-46 Sea Knight, not a Chinook.

"And hundreds of people, at least, watched it burn and their voices shouted, 'God is great,' thanking God," the Web posting says.

"And we say to the enemy of God that these are the proofs of God's conquest that he bestowed upon us so all thanks and praises are due to Him."

The posting is signed by "the Ministry of Information/Islamic State in Iraq."

U.S. military spokesman Maj. Gen. William Caldwell said a quick-reaction force went to the site of the downed helicopter, 20 miles (32 kilometers) northwest of the capital. Though the cause of the crash was not immediately known, military officials said they believe there is enemy action in the area.

The Chinook and Sea Knight are similar twin-rotor helicopters. According to Boeing, which manufactures the choppers, the Chinook was designed for the Army while the Sea Knight was produced for the Navy.

Attacks raise concerns
Four other U.S. helicopters -- three military and one civilian -- were shot down in Iraq between January 20 and last Friday, raising concerns that insurgents are becoming more proficient at downing the aircraft. (Map)

Sixteen U.S. troops died in the three military helicopter crashes, and five employees of the Blackwater private security company were killed when their helicopter came under heavy fire January 23 in eastern Baghdad.

The Senate Armed Services Committee raised the issue during a hearing Tuesday on the military budget.

Sen. Joe Lieberman, a Connecticut independent, asked Gen. Peter Pace, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, if the helicopter attacks mean "that enemy forces have achieved some higher level of capability with shoulder-fired missiles."

Pace responded that it was his understanding the choppers were shot down with small arms, not missiles.

He said each incident is investigated.

"At this point and time, I do not know whether or not it is the law of averages that caught up with us or if there's been a change in tactics, techniques and procedures on the part of the enemy, which is what the investigation will do," Pace said. (Watch why the U.S. may need to rethink how it protects helicopters in Iraq )

Bombs Kill at Least 80 People in Iraq

Updated 11:07 AM ET February 12, 2007

By BUSHRA JUHI

BAGHDAD, Iraq (AP) - Thunderous explosions and dense smoke swirled through central Baghdad on Monday when three car bombs ripped apart a crowded marketplace in a Shiite neighborhood, setting off secondary explosions and killing at least 71 people, police said. A suicide bombing nearby killed at least nine.

The blasts shattered the city center on the first anniversary, according to the Muslim lunar calendar, of the bombing last year of the important Shiite Golden Dome shrine in Samarra, north of the capital. That attack by al-Qaida in Iraq set off the sectarian bloodletting that has turned Baghdad and much of central Iraq into a battleground.

The suicide bomber detonated an explosives-filled vest in a crowd near a popular falafel restaurant in the Bab al-Sharqi area, not far from Shorja, police said, adding that 19 people also were wounded in that blast.

Soldiers' doubts weigh heavy on security plan

By Ryan Lenz | Associated Press | Story updated at 9:17 PM on Monday, February 12, 2007
BAGHDAD, Iraq - Soldiers spearheading the increase in U.S. forces in Baghdad are papering car windows and storefronts with purple stickers listing telephone numbers and an e-mail address where Iraqis can send intelligence tips to help stop the violence.

But if a recent sweep in search of car bomb makers is an indication, they have a long way to go to improve intelligence.

Soldiers from the Army's 1st Battalion, 23rd Infantry Regiment converged this week on a religiously mixed north Baghdad neighborhood of auto parts stores and "chop shops" that Iraqi commanders thought was used to rig deadly car bombs.

Moving door to door, Iraqi and U.S. soldiers smashed padlocks with sledge hammers, clipped through wire gates and rifled through hundreds of buildings as Iraqi mechanics, their hands slick with grease and motor oil, peered from nearby shops.

Instead of discovering a network of clandestine car bomb factories, the soldiers instead found only a few Kalashnikov rifles, eight grenades and wire.

"We're told this new surge is going to be more intelligence-based instead of just hitting random sites," said Staff Sgt. Jamie Slagle, 31, of Morrisville, Mo., as he flipped through a stack of unused stickers. "But that's what seems to me to still be going on."

U.S. officials have urged Iraqis to be patient and have cautioned that the new security operation could take months to show results. That's a hard message to swallow for Iraqis who have endured years of violence.

The U.S. military has advertised some successes, including the discovery of 14 weapons caches during a series of raids and patrols in Baghdad during the week that ended last Friday.

But for U.S. soldiers, the results of the new phase have been disappointing so far. Some of them fear that the delays in kicking off the new security operation might have given extremists time to flee the capital or hide their weapons.

What still seems lacking, soldiers say, is good intelligence - and cooperation from Iraqis themselves.

"It's like a 50-50 game. Fifty percent is good intelligence and 50 percent is just plain bull," said Spc. Brett Rochon, 22, of Ansonia, Conn.

Nevertheless, the U.S. has little choice but to rely heavily on the Iraqis if it stands any chance of success in pacifying the capital. Under the new plan, Iraqi forces will take the lead in securing city neighborhood by neighborhood - with American units standing by in case of trouble.

Let's Hear About All the Progress. We all need GOOD and LASTING "ways forward" in Iraq or get the hell out of there.

I am hoping LIAR_K will post more of her "Iraq good news" like I remember her posts about Iraqi schools. I am hearing now teachers are being killed along with students at the schools.

So far I see mostly bad news about lost American lives, wounded soldiers, downed helicopters and wasted American Tax dollars.

Below see an example of the progress BUSHY has made in Iraq so far.

Auditors: Billions Wasted in Iraq

By HOPE YEN
Associated Press Writer
Feb 15, 1:51 PM EST

WASHINGTON (AP) -- The U.S. government is at risk of squandering significantly more money in an Iraq war and reconstruction effort that has already wasted, overcharged or poorly tracked $10 billion in taxpayer money, federal investigators said Thursday.

The three top auditors overseeing contract work in Iraq told a House committee that Defense and State department officials condoned or otherwise allowed poor accounting, repeated work delays, bloated expenses and payments for work shoddily or never done by U.S. contractors.

That problem could worsen, the Government Accountability Office said, given limited improvement so far by the Department of Defense even as the Bush administration prepares to boost the U.S. presence in Iraq.

David M. Walker, comptroller general of the GAO, Congress' auditing arm, said his agency has been pointing out problems for years, only to be largely ignored or given lip service with little result.

"There is no accountability," Walker said. "Organizations charged with overseeing contracts are not held accountable. Contractors are not held accountable. The individuals responsible are not held accountable."

"People should be rewarded when they do a good job. But when things don't go right, there have to be consequences," he said.

A spokeswoman for the Army, which handles most of the Iraq contracting, did not have immediate comment.
