I'd place bets that no one would be interested in looking at either helen's nor sybil's legs...nor their necks. Least not like they like looking at a sexy, young blond with BRAINS. Any of you ladies a LAWYER??? LOL LOL LOL

Gosh...the 'green-eyed monster' sure comes out in them .....whenever someone as lovely as Ann is comes up for discussion.

tsk tsk tsk

Jealousy is SO unattractive on you two elderly women.

Linda, you cannot POSSIBLY look at Ann as she's looking these days and call her sexy? Sexy is more than a short skirt on a bottle blonde, sweetie. She looks gaunt and goofy, sort of dinosaur-like, with that tiny head and big adam's apple. The nasal voice doesn't help, either, nor the snide attitude.

Is she married? Anyone?

My philosophy-professor friend says what we're doing here is "ad hominem" criticism--and my understanding is that means criticism of the person or the appearance or the morals rather than the strength of the person's statements or arguments.

Still. . . it's hard to resist criticizing that woman; she's just getting what she gives!

I have no idea if she is physically attractive because I cannot get past the ugly things that come out of her mouth. How does name-calling and labeling reflect her intelligence? Unless---you are talking about her goal to make loads of money by being as controversial and outrageous as she possibly can. Even wonder if she has any convictions at all, or is what she says just part of her plan to get the attention she needs to rake in the bucks.

Bear: You said, "Personally I'm hearing more support for her breaking a political correct boundary."

Actually, I think the word she used, "#*!@," is legally actionable. Not just that poor-mope crowd of conservative youths, but now the whole nation and world has heard her say it. And Edwards is a lawyer! He could sue the pants off her; oh wait, is she wearing any. . . .

I can only imagine what's going on behind the scenes in the Republican party. It's a real black mark against the party that she's been made into some sort of demi-goddess.

This is just too funny.

Reading these liberals have hissy fits over all this. LOL LOL LOL

But each and everytime THEIR party leaders have done something similar....doesn't bother them a bit.

Nope.....but do they see themselves as hypocrites?

Naw....they're blind to all that.

Victims....victims....liberals ALWAYS play the victim.

From today's Wall Street Journal....The Best of the Web:

Anatomy of a Botched Joke

Remember when John Kerry made disparaging comments about the U.S. military and then claimed, with an absurd self-righteousness, that it was all a "botched joke"?

Now, thanks to Ann Coulter, we know what an actual botched joke looks like.

Speaking at the Conservative Political Action Conference last week, Coulter said:

"I was going to have a few comments on the other Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards, but it turns out you have to go into rehab if you use the word "#*!@," so I--so kind of an impasse, can't really talk about Edwards.

This joke failed, for three reasons:

The pop culture reference is too obscure for most people to get. We knew about it only because Kathryn Lopez linked to an article about it

http://lifeandstylemag.hollywood.com/2007/01/life_style_exclusive_isaiah_wa.php

It seems Isaiah Washington, a TV actor, checked into a "residential treatment facility" after a dispute with a fellow cast member in which Washington used the word "#*!@."

Although Edwards has what people back in 2003 used to call a "metrosexual" demeanor, as well as a history of gay-baiting,
http://www.opinionjournal.com/best/?id=110005721

...it is not clear why implying that he is gay would be funny.

"#*!@" is an ugly word, redolent of hatred even if employed without hateful intent.

Of course, every time Coulter says something outrageous, the reaction is Pavlovian all around:

Liberals get outraged, conservatives get outraged, and liberals get outraged that conservatives aren't outraged, even though they are.

Our favorite conservative reaction came from blogger Rick Moran, who wrote:

I urge everyone--right and left--to take the following actions:

1. Never write another blog post about Ann Coulter no matter how outrageous, cruel, or bigoted her language. . . .

I will no longer be a willing cog in her publicity machine.
--

Well, OK, I will write this 700-word post, and I will update it twice, to the tune of more than 500 words. But once I'm done with that, I will no longer be a willing cog in her publicity machine! Really!

Our favorite liberal response came from the Edwards campaign itself, which sent out a ridiculously over-the-top email attributed to pro-Saddam ex-Rep. David Bonior:

Did you hear about Anne [sic] Coulter's speech this afternoon attacking John? A friend just forwarded me the video and it's one of the worst moments in American politics I've seen. I can't bring myself to even repeat her comments. Her shameless display of bigotry is so outrageous you actually have to see for yourself to believe it. This is just a taste of the filth that the right-wing machine is gearing up to throw at us.
==

So it's both "one of the worst moments in American politics" and "just a taste of the filth" to come?

The Associated Press reports that Edwards himself "said a remark about him by conservative author Ann Coulter reminded him of hateful speech against blacks he heard while growing up in the segregated South." And if you want to show your disgust with Coulter, go here to donate "Coulter cash" to the Edwards campaign.

Edwards seems to be striking a self-pitying tone similar to the one Kerry struck last year when he was the one who gave offense.

It's funny how liberal politicians are always the victims, whether someone else says something outrageous about them or they say something outrageous about others.

In any case, you can tell Coulter's botched joke really was a botched joke by the light touch she used when the New York Times asked her about it:

Ms. Coulter, asked for a reaction to the Republican criticism, said in an e-mail message:

"C'mon, it was a joke. I would never insult gays by suggesting that they are like John Edwards. That would be mean."

Now that gave us a chuckle.
==========

And on the subject of edwards being an ambulance chaser type of lawyer....who might consider suing Ann.

...don't forget Ann specialized in CONSTITUTIONAL LAW....I think she could WELL defend her RIGHT of free speech.

C'mon Linda. When was the last time you heard a serious or even non-serious political speech where the speaker used the F word (a slur for gay) or the N-word, or the C-word or any other bigoted word? Unless everyone in the audience is wearing a white sheet, that is just not acceptable and is plain stupid and/or arrogant. Was that remark supposed to help her political party? No. It just helped her get more publicity for herself.

Linda, how amusing that you think Ann's hate-speeches have value. She's part of the problem, not solution, and is laughing all the way to the bank while she degrades Americans and calls it patriotism. Can't you see that?

Linda, again you are correct, all this is, is a prime example of selective moral indignation.

There are two standards here in the US. The MSN & Lib pc standard of free speech and true freedom of speech.

All political correctness is is advocating totalitarian of speech.

Where is the lefts moral indignation about the head of the demo party being a former klan member?

The hysteria every time Coulter tells a joke is very boring. Even more so if compared to virtually any statement made by any gay group "leader" any time anyone ever stuck a microphone in front of his face.

I couldnt have said it any better:

Here's somebody who won't abandon Ann Coulter
Posted by Mike Gallagher | 6:55 AM

I'm positively amazed at all the serious American conservative voices who are throwing right-wing flamethrower Ann Coulter under the bus for her schoolyard joke about political correctness and the word "fag**t."

The snorts of disapproval and huffs and puffs are pouring in. "I was not amused." "She hurts the conservative movement." "We should never name-call." "She was a distraction from the serious straw poll that featured strong showings by Romney and Guiliani." And on and on...

Why are so many conservatives afraid to fight back?

Time and time again, we're called a variety of names by liberal Democrats. We wag our finger at them and warn them to stop calling us Nazis and liars and warmongers and the like.

So when one of our own gets under the skin of wimpy liberals, we burn her at the stake?

I hope everyone who wants to bash Ann Coulter had a chance to see her on "Hannity and Colmes" last night. As the videotape proved, her entire speech to the CPAC crowd included a series of zingers and punchlines and potshots at the other side. And as she said on the show, her joke was intended to be a commentary about the idiocy of sending a Hollywood actor into rehab because he used a bad word. Besides, unless John Edwards was preparing to announce that he's coming out of the closet, the happily married man with children should have no real worries about being called something he's not. She intended it to be the schoolyard taunt of "wuss", something said all the time.

Well, I'm not going to cave with the rest of the weenie liberals and pompous conservatives who like to eat their own. I think Ann Coulter is gutsy and terrific. Besides, she's a commentator, not a U.S. Senator.

Mingo, squelching free speech is the only leg they have even though it has nothing to do with anything but kinda sounds like it could.

What the right doesn't get, is her jokes and her whole m.o. are all based on hate and negativity. Show me where she's EVER said anything good about HER country or HER fellow Americans. She's called the 911 widows money hungry and fame hungry. She called the victims of Katrina lazy. Along with Rush Limbaugh, she's called people that do drugs scum and has always called gays fags (no shock there), just to name a few. Can't any of you see how this makes your country look weak if this is a supposed representative of the right?

Personally, I laughed out loud. Coulter can say whatever she wants. All she proves is that she is an ignorant bigoted hate monger with a big mouth. Just like when churches go ape sh!t over Temptation of Christ, etc... they would be more effective simply ignoring her. She thrives off of attention and ratings. If people ignored her, turned her off, etc. she would go away. Her whole purpose is shock value. She is not talented or intelligent.. in fact she is nothing more than Madonna with an Adam's apple.

Just as anyone here can express themselves, approve or disapprove of her behavior, so should those who were present when she made those comments. I am sure many people would like to know where they stand on the issue. My understanding was that every Republican Presidential candidate was present with the exception of McCain. I think it is everybody's right to ask each and every one of them what their reaction was to Coultergeists comments. I respect someone much more if they simply let you know where they stand than if they avoid the question all together.

And yes... as LindaK says, "GEORGE BUSH IS A NAZI!!!"

I don't think AC should be silenced. She has a right to say whatever she wants. So do I, and I say say she's a hateful, attention hungry b!tch whose only concern is her own success. I also think she's a great boon to the democratic party. So is that druggy Limpbough, and so is Scoot-off-to-jail Libby and his pal our straight shootin' Veep and so are all the Republican candidates who can't figure out what they stand for. They're all doing their damndest to kill their own party. Good for them.

bear, please enlighten me, which leader of the democratic party is a member of the KKK? I've really never heard this before. Are we in the same century?

Linda would not know what sexy is unless she is looking at a nice hairy butt. That is what Linda said she likes.

This coming from the biggest baby of the them all. Who was it that claimed her rights were being violated when she was kicked off OTWA. Yep that is right - LINDA_K - the stepchild of Ann Coulter.

Linda if Vendio gave out awards for being the "victim" you would have received the lifetime achievement award 10 times over.

You have a lot of nerve claiming everyone else is the victim.
