VeryModern,

The seller can "remove" a bidder, but the bidder can STILL leave negative (or positive) feedback for the seller. I've cancelled deadbeats who didn't pay, left neg feedback for them, and had them retaliate with neg feedback for me (AFTER they were cancelled). I've also cancelled bidders for non-payment, had them later pay me, and had them leave positive feedback for me.

So "removing" or cancelling a bidder won't eliminate their "feedback-giving" ability, whether their comments are bad OR good. You've been very lucky not to get retaliatory feedback from deadbeats you cancelled.

That's right Granee, I had someone remove me once just to see what would happen. I got an email from Yahoo saying 'your seller has canceled you, if you'd like to leave them feedback just click this URL."

Thanks for the info granee, I had no idea. Talk about a false sense of security! Also apologize to grapey for giving bad info. Who'd of thunk you could neg 25 people and not get one back?

I've got anudder question. What if I cancel bids on active auctions? Do they get the letter asking if they want to leave feedback?

One I cancelled because they were outside of the United States and the other 2 I cancelled have icky feedback. I also added these 3 to my blacklist.

These 3 auctions have not ended. Can they still leave me feedback? Can they leave me feedback after the auctions close?

I've never canc anyone with the auction still in progress so I can't say for sure. I seriously doubt they can FB you since they weren't the winner.

Yahoo used to give out an automatic neg to bidders who were canc, I don't know if they still do that. Check their FB & let me know. If they still do it it simply says "Administrative penalty for canceled bid" and the FB is listed from Y! Auctions, not the seller. The bidder is not allowed to enter a response to it.

I think the neg YAHOO gives is if the bidder ASKS YAHOO to cancel the bid for them, since there's no way for a bidder to cancel his OWN bid on Yahoo.

I've never cancelled a bid on one of my auctions while it's still in progress, so I don't know if the person you cancelled can EVER give any kind of feedback on it....but I think only the high bidder on a CLOSED auction can leave feedback (or back-up bidder if the high bidder is cancelled).

If the auction closes without another bidder, the cancelled bidder MIGHT be able to leave feedback. Does anyone know????
