Fenix - If I may suggest you either read or sign up on Doc's board.
Reason being - there is a woman, Kate, who found herself in the same situation you may be in.
She needed surgery and had no insurance. While she and I intially disagreed on there being medical coverage for her needed surgery....she found just what she needed and has since had her surgery without medical ins.
She might be able to help you through the process a little bit quicker than starting out on your own.
Just a suggestion. It worked for her and she had been upset for quite a while that she couldn't get this necessary surgery because she didn't have medical ins. and she didn't qualify for medicaid help.
Wouldn't hurt????

I did not follow you to Otwa, nor did I bash you there, nor did I comment when you got booted for disrupting the board.
I made about three dozen posts there, (as opposed to your near 5000) probably the most on a health care topic I was interested in.

Now mind you I was outnumbered...30-50 to ONE.
But they have such interesting lives...they chose to spend their days COUNTING the number of posts I made.

I mentioned earlier I may decide to take the board along on the health issue journey. More so because of the fact that it's going to involve me trying to navigate the healthcare system without insurance than to follow the health issue itself. We have had so many discussions in the past here about healthcare for the uninsured I thought a "real time" look at the process might be interesting. (personally I am hoping for boring, uneventful, and short lived due to lack of neccessity
Fenix, I am interested in knowing if there is a cost for an initial check-up if you don't have insurance. Can this and the follow-up one be done at a clinic for free?

IF you could ever be honest....even just a tiny bit....you KNOW I did nothing to be banned over.

No, Linda, I'm not a hypocrite....I believe that you are disruptive here just as you were disruptive there. I know several people who avoid posting here because they do not want to deal with your rude insults. I've offered suggestions to you that might improve your delivery but you refuse to change. So, don't blame your lack of acceptance there or here on me or Kiara or other posters. Blame yourself.
Other conservatives manage to post on OTWA among the Liberals without being suspended by the owners.

The check where it was discovered was a free service that is funded here in Colorado by a combination of proceeds from the cigarette tax (a much more logical use than California and their billboards I must say) and grants stemming from 2 seperate cancer studies. The next step may or may not cost me. There is another study group at a local hospital that I may get accepted into that will cover the cost of the procedure that will evaluate what is wrong and tell me if surgery is going to be neccessary. If I don't get accepted, there are a couple other resources for possible lowered cost evaluations that I can look into but I can't start checking until I have been turned down by the first group.

Kiara - They are waiting for some additional lab results that are due back on the 1st. Once they come in then they can submit the referral the hospital and wait for them to rule on me which should only take a day or two and then if I am accepted, I just have to wait to get an appointment.
Life was so much easier when I just assumed I was healthy

No need to appologize. It's understandable. I hope both your friends win their battles.
Hope that you are are ok too. I remember being a little stress queen a couple months back when my partner got sick. He's also become my best friend so seeing him go thru that and not being able to help while still trying to be upbeat and reassuring was stressful as hell. Can't imagine having to go thru that with too people simultaniously. Personally, I found driving at ridiculously high speeds on a deserted stretch of highway very late at night to be incredibly theraputic... not lawful, safe, or particularly smart, but really theraputic.
