"Another thing common with liberals that I can clearly see is that they're blind to the actions of their own. But will go ballistic when their 'own' get it back. Screaming and whining about how terrible it is for anyone to speak harshly about them BECAUSE they lost someone they loved."
You are unbelievable. I am sure the Edwards expect and can handle any political criticism. That low-life, Coulter, specializes in personal attacks on dead children, calling people faggots and making fun of women whose loved ones were incinerated in the World Trade Center. If you and Coulter had the courage of your convictions, there would be no need for personal attacks. Anything Elizabeth Edwards has said, cannot compare to that garbage. There is no purpose to saying these things, except cruelty and arrogance. And FYI--not one poster has demanded that Coulter not be allowed to speak. However, you seem to have a problem with Elizabeth Edwards responding to her garbage.

Again Ann nails the "Edwards" about their censure request and the real reason for the Edwards attack on her.
That Was No Lady -- That Was My Husband
by Ann Coulter

The Edwards campaign is apparently still running low on donations, so this week they went back to their top fundraiser: me.
I doubled the ratings of the lowest-rated cable news show on Tuesday by agreeing to go on for a full hour to promote my new paperback version of "Godless" -- a mistake I won't make again. As I was walking to the set, minutes before airtime, it was casually mentioned to me that Elizabeth Edwards, wife of Democratic presidential candidate, John Edwards, might call in.
For the first time in recorded history, the show's host did not interrupt a guest, but let Elizabeth Edwards ramble on and on, allowing her to browbeat me for being mean to her husband.
Say, did any TV host ever surprise Al Franken, Bill Maher or Arianna Huffington with a call by the wife of someone they've made nasty remarks about? How about a call to John Edwards from the wife of a doctor he bankrupted with his junk-science lawsuits?
I think I may have tuned out at some point, so I can only speak to the first 45 minutes of Elizabeth Edwards' harangue, but it mostly consisted of utterly dishonest renditions of things I had said on my "Good Morning America" interview this week and a column I wrote four years ago. (You can't rush Edwards' "rapid response team"!) She claimed I had launched unprovoked attacks on the Edwards' dead son and called for a terrorist attack on her husband.
These are bald-faced lies, and the mainstream media knows they are lies. Yet they were repeated ad nauseam on Wednesday by The Associated Press, the AOL pop-up window, CNN, NBC and -- stunningly -- the host of the lowest-rated cable show himself, who personally told me he knew the truth.
So for those of you who haven't read any of my five best-selling books: Liberals are driven by Satan and lie constantly.
Here is my full sentence on "Good Morning America," which the media deceptively truncated, referring to a joke I told about Edwards six months ago that made liberals cry: "But about the same time, you know, Bill Maher was not joking and saying he wished Dick Cheney had been killed in a terrorist attack -- so I've learned my lesson: If I'm going to say anything about John Edwards in the future, I'll just wish he had been killed in a terrorist assassination plot."
The usual nut Web sites posted a zillion denunciations of my appearance on "Good Morning America" immediately after I appeared Monday morning. But it didn't occur to any of them to simply lie about what I had said. No, it took them nearly 36 hours to concoct a version of that quote that included the Edwards part, but not the Maher part, or what English language speakers call: "the point."
By tomorrow it will be: "Ann Coulter tried to kill John Edwards on 'Good Morning America'!"
Judging by his fundraising efforts so far, I gather most of you don't know who John Edwards is -- unless you're an overpriced hair dresser. He's the trial lawyer who pretended in court to channel the spirit of a handicapped fetus in front of illiterate jurors to scam tens of millions of dollars off of innocent doctors. According to The New York Times, Edwards told one jury: "She speaks to you through me ... And I have to tell you right now -- I didn't plan to talk about this -- right now I feel her. I feel her presence. She's inside me, and she's talking to you."
Let me also quote from campaign consultant Bob Shrum's book "No Excuses":
"(Kerry) was even queasier about Edwards after they met. Edwards had told Kerry he was going to share a story with him that he'd never told anyone else -- that after his son Wade had been killed, he climbed onto the slab at the funeral home, laid there and hugged his body, and promised that he'd do all he could to make life better for people, to live up to Wade's ideals of service. Kerry was stunned, not moved, because, as he told me later, Edwards had recounted the same exact story to him, almost in the exact same words, a year or two before -- and with the same preface, that he'd never shared the memory with anyone else. Kerry said he found it chilling, and he decided he couldn't pick Edwards unless he met with him again."
Apparently every time Edwards began a story about his dead son with "I've never told anyone this before," everyone on the campaign could lip-sync the story with him.
As a commentator, I bring facts like these to the attention of the American people in a lively way. Thus, for example, in a column about the Democratic candidates for president written in 2003, I pointed out that the Democrats refused to discuss the economy or the war, but had recently "discovered a surprise campaign issue: It turns out that several of them have had a death in the family."
Among several examples of Democrats talking about a death in the family on the campaign trail was this one:
John Edwards injects his son's fatal car accident into his campaign by demanding that everyone notice how he refuses to inject his son's fatal car accident into his campaign.
Edwards has talked about his son's death in a 1996 car accident on "Good Morning America," in dozens of profiles and in his new book. ("It was and is the most important fact of my life." His 1998 Senate campaign ads featured film footage of Edwards at a learning lab he founded in honor of his son, titled "The Wade Edwards Learning Lab." He wears his son's Outward Bound pin on his suit lapel. He was going to wear it on his sleeve, until someone suggested that might be a little too "on the nose."
If you want points for not using your son's death politically, don't you have to take down all those "Ask me about my son's death in a horrific car accident" bumper stickers? Edwards is like a politician who keeps announcing that he will not use his opponent's criminal record for partisan political advantage.
Manifestly, I was not making fun of their son's death; I was making fun of John Edwards' incredibly creepy habit of invoking his son's tragic death to advance his political career -- a practice so repellant, it even made John Kerry queasy.
I'm a little tired of losers trying to raise campaign cash or TV ratings off of my coattails, particularly when they use their afflictions or bereavement schedules to try to silence the opposition. From now on, I'm attacking only serious presidential candidates, like Dennis Kucinich.
It is foolish and wrong to mourn the men who died. Rather we should thank God that such men lived.George S. Patton

ROFLOL at you CC.
You REFUSE to watch the video of Ann saying NO SUCH THING. You and most liberals are confused again. IF you'd ever read anything except the wacko liberal sites that LIE then you'd KNOW she NEVER called him a #*!@. NEVER. LOL But remain in your ignorance since you can't handle the TRUTH.
====================
“Elizabeth Edwards should look close to home when it comes to ‘hatefulness and ugliness’ for it was her husband’s Democratic presidential campaign that hired two official bloggers who attacked ‘Christofascists’ and insulted Christians and their faith in the most repulsive words imaginable, which I won’t repeat here. Go Google Amanda Marcotte and Holy Spirit.
“As for Ann Coulter, don’t be fooled by the smoke and mirrors orchestrated by the liberal Democrat Elizabeth Edwards and her advisers in the Democratic Party. This attack on Ann Coulter, a conservative writer, is part of the liberals’ plan to squash free speech by conservatives. They want to silence Coulter, as well as Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Laura Ingraham, Michelle Malkin, and many others. Hugo Chavez does this type of censoring in Venezuela—but in America, we don’t.
“Nonetheless, Senators Kerry and Durbin this week called for restoring the Fairness Doctrine—government-enforced equal time for liberals on talk radio—and John Podesta, former chief of staff to President Clinton, released a hatchet-job report last week calling for regulations to fix the supposed imbalance in political talk radio.
“The liberals cannot sell their product—liberal talk radio—in the marketplace, so they are planning to use the power of government to stop conservatives from selling their product, conservative talk radio. Liberals don’t believe in free exchange, tolerance, or the marketplace of ideas. They believe in the iron boot of liberalism stamping out any view that upsets the liberal apple cart. Mrs. Edwards’ attack on Coulter is just another volley in the liberals’ attack on conservative writers and conservative talk radio.”

Geez, it is diffcult to watch someone NOT sat something. Besides,I don't need to watch the video, I saw the Hardball Show when it aired yesterday. What do you mean by "Ann said no such thing?" Which thing? If you are talking about the bumper sticker, I said in my post that it was a column of hers 4 years ago. If you are talking about calling him a #*!@, she admits she said it. In explaining why she said it, she referenced Bill Mahr (who made a remark about Cheney being killed by terrorists) saying maybe instead of calling Edwards a #*!@, I should just say I hope he is killed by terrorists.
I rarely read wacko liberal sites or wacko neocon sites---and when I do, I at least read them with a grain of salt. They are filled with half-truths, exaggerations and downright lies slanted toward their preference (like what you posted above. No proof in that article.) I prefer to form my own opinions.

I provided one link....and you refuse to listen to what Ann actually said. LOL
Keep yourself in the dark.....it's obviously what you prefer to do rather than face the facts that they're distorting what she said into what she NEVER said.
You're an adult.....you can find the past videos where Ann is actually filmed saying her FULL statement. Not at all what the reports and elizabeth continue lying about.

Linda. I am not basing my opinions on snippets of videos. I have seen numerous complete interviews, including yesterday's. Despite your insistence, I do know the difference between a snippet out of context and a complete statement. That's the reason I did not bring up the statement about Edwards being killed by terrorists as an example. I knew that was out of context and not exactly what she meant. However, she has said enough cruel statements in context for me to have utter contempt for her. She is a useless waste of oxygen and just eats up the attention these statements get her. Nothing she has said has helped a single person except herself. Fool yourself into thinking she is taken seriously by anyone of importance in the Republican Party. They regard her as a loose cannon, just like most sane people do.

Desperately need campaign money. lol
Freedom of speech is just SO wonderful. Whether we agree with what is said or not. Thank GOD we can still say it. That IS until the liberals start making more laws about everything THEY don't want pointed out be 'hate speech'. lol
I hope our Nation never allows that censorship to occur. Or we'll be just like the communists nations who ALSO regulate the speech of their citizens. You know, the communist leaders like chavez who has already taken government ownership of their media?>
I believe that's exactly what the progressive liberals are trying to do here now....starting out with. tsk tsk tsk
You don't like what Ann has to say? Then don't listen. But to become so phony and be outraged at exactly what YOUR party does all the time.....is nothing but hysterically funny. And any 5th grader can see right through that hyprocrisy.

As has been pointed out in this thread...they don't have the intellectual ability to actually grasp what she did say. It goes right over their heads. lol As elizabeth has proven by her false statements. Right over her head.

Edwards clips Coulter quote to raise cash
Video segment taken out of context used in push to bring in $9 million

1:46 p.m. Eastern
Ann Coulter interviewed on MSNBC's 'Hardball' (Courtesy Newsbusters.org
John Edwards' presidential campaign quickly made use of an unusual confrontation between the former Democratic senator's wife and columnist Ann Coulter, employing a strategically edited video clip in a fundraising drive during the final days of the second quarter accounting period.
The campaign took a sound bite of Coulter – out of context – in an interview on ABC's "Good Morning America" Monday and posted it along with a segment the following night from MSNBC's "Hardball" under the banner "Right-Wing Attacks," with a clickable bar urging "Donate today!"
"It's up to us to raise the dialogue by taking our message straight to voters. Let's show that Ann Coulter style politics will never carry the day. We have 4 days to reach $9 million. Please donate today:" the campaign website says.
Elizabeth Edwards telephoned "Hardball" Tuesday night during host Chris Matthews' interview with Coulter to complain of a "personal attack" against her husband on the ABC show and of Coulter's quip about her husband earlier this year, which alluded to him as a "#*!@."
he latter comment, made at the Conservative Political Action Conference in Washington, was used by the Edwards campaign in March to raise funds, urging supporters to send in "Coulter cash."
The clip from the ABC interview posted by the campaign has Coulter declaring, "If I'm gonna say anything about John Edwards in the future, I'll just wish he had been killed in a terrorist assassination plot."
Missing, however, is the fact that Coulter's wry remark played off of her reference to a provocative comment made by HBO host Bill Maher about Vice President Cheney.
Coulter told "Good Morning America's" Chris Cuomo: "But about the same time, Bill Maher was not joking in saying he wished Dick Cheney had been killed in a terrorist attack. So I've learned my lesson, if I’m gonna saying anything about John Edwards in the future, I'll just wish he had been killed in a terrorist assassination plot."
Breitbart.tv captured video of the full interview.
Coulter also insisted to Cuomo, the son of former Democratic New York Gov. Mario Cuomo, that she didn't actually use the "gay" slur against Edwards.
"By the way I did not call John Edwards' the "F" word," she contended. "I said you couldn't talk about him, because you go into rehab for using that word."
Cuomo interjected, "You say you were joking?
"Oh, yeah, I wouldn't insult gays by comparing them to John Edwards," Coulter said. "That would be mean."
In a column published today by WND, Coulter said she was casually told just minutes before the airing of the "Hardball" segment that Elizabeth Edwards was going to call in.
Coulter writes Edwards' "harangue" was mostly "utterly dishonest renditions" of her "Good Morning America" interview and a claim she had attacked the Edwards' dead son.
"These are bald-faced lies, and the mainstream media know they are lies," Coulter writes. "Yet they were repeated ad nauseam on Wednesday by the Associated Press, the AOL pop-up window, CNN, NBC and – stunningly – the host of the lowest-rated cable show himself, who personally told me he knew the truth."
After her call to "Hardball," Elizabeth Edwards immediately sent an e-mail to potential donors to her husband's campaign, saying she told Coulter "these kinds of personal attacks lower our political dialogue at precisely the time when we need to raise it, and set a bad example for our children. How did she respond? Sadly, perhaps predictably, with more personal attacks."
The e-mail concluded with a request to, "Please give what you can right now to help raise the dialogue and show that Ann Coulter-style politics will never carry the day."
Critics, however, charge John Edwards is hardly one to moralize about "raising the dialogue" after the candidate came to the defense of two of his campaign bloggers earlier this year when their profane, anti-Christian writings were exposed by right-leaning bloggers.
In February, Amanda Marcotte, the campaign's official blogger, resigned, and another Edwards blogger, Melissa McEwan, also drew fire for past postings, including a reference to Bush's conservative Christian supporters as his "wingnut Christofascist base."
Marcotte pondered, for example, in explicit language, what would have happened if the Virgin Mary had taken the emergency contraceptive Plan B.
Prior to Marcotte's resignation, Edwards issued a statement saying he had decided to keep the two women. Edwards said he was "personally offended" by Marcotte's writing but wanted to give everyone "a fair shake."
Former Republican presidential candidate Gary Bauer, in a column for WND, wrote "Edwards' decision not to dismiss the bloggers is curious since it not only risks antagonizing practicing Christians – who constitute 44 percent of the electorate – but also because it may alienate Edwards from the very voters – blue collar workers, Hispanics, the poor – with whom his populist message could resonate most deeply."
"Moreover, the conspicuous silence of the other Democratic presidential candidates speaks volumes about where exactly the party believes its allegiance lies," Bauer said. "Letters from national Catholic advocacy groups urging Sens. Clinton and Obama to publicly condemn the anti-Catholic rants remain unanswered."

Coulter under fire for anti-gay slur
POSTED: 6:31 a.m. EST, March 4, 2007
Story Highlights• Coulter condemned for referring to John Edwards as a "#*!@"
• Edwards attempting to raise $100,000 in 'Coulter Cash' for his campaign
• Comment was made by Coulter at 34th Conservative Political Action Conference
• CNN has reached out to Coulter and has so far had no response
Adjust font size:
WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Prominent politicians from both parties and a gay-rights group on Saturday condemned right-wing commentator Ann Coulter for her reference Friday to Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards as a "#*!@."
"Ann Coulter's use of an anti-gay slur yesterday was un-American and indefensible," Edwards said in a posting on his Web site, www.johnedwards.com.
"In America, we strive for equality and embrace diversity. The kind of hateful language she used has no place in political debate or our society at large.
"I believe it is our moral responsibility to speak out against that kind of bigotry and prejudice every time we encounter it."
Edwards' campaign posted the video on their Web site, and asked readers to help them "raise $100,000 in 'Coulter Cash' this week to keep this campaign charging ahead and fight back against the politics of bigotry."
Coulter made her comment in Washington during an address to the 34th annual meeting of the Conservative Political Action Conference, during which she gave her opinions about the Democrats' slate of presidential hopefuls.
"I was going to have a few comments on the other Democratic presidential candidate, John Edwards, but it turns out that you have to go into rehab if you use the word '#*!@,' so I'm - so, kind of at an impasse, can't really talk about Edwards, so I think I'll just conclude here and take your questions," said Coulter, whose comment was followed by applause.
CNN has reached out to Coulter's representative, and received no response.
But the New York Times reported that she responded, in an e-mail, "C'mon, it was a joke. I would never insult gays by suggesting that they are like John Edwards. That would be mean."

Like those liberals/dems who admitted they hadn't bothered to actually read our intelligence reports before they voted to send us into war. Yea, low expectations of what we'll ever get from the likes of so called leaders like that.

And there are THOUSANDS of quotes from the wacko left that are defended as 'free speech'. It's okay to call our soldiers terrorists....to say the things that kennedy and kerry have..and that's NOT seen as hate speech.
right.....
1. ABC: Soldiers Are Terrorists Comment Reflects Kitchen Table Talk
ABC's Dan Harris on Thursday's Good Morning America ludicrously contended that the shouting match on The View over Rosie O'Donnell's suggestion that U.S. soldiers in Iraq are the real "terrorists," reflects "a debate that is playing out over kitchen tables across the country." Really? Americans are having spirited discussions during supper over whether civilian deaths in Iraq makes U.S. soldiers terrorists? Citing the Wednesday fight between O'Donnell and Elisabeth Hasselbeck, Harris maintained that "this is the latest example of how difficult it is to strike a balance between criticizing the war and supporting the troops." But O'Donnell had gone well beyond just criticizing the war when she posed the rhetorical question with a pretty clear implication about U.S. troops: "655,000 Iraqi civilians are dead. Who are the terrorists?" Co-host Robin Roberts had set up the Harris piece by suggesting O'Donnell is some kind of victim of a speech code as she insisted the O'Donnell-Hasselbeck feud is "sparking a larger debate about what we can and cannot say about the war."
