Imo, KD, it's partly because they're aware that they're hired for the job to promote the current administrations agenda - not their own personal convictions. Hopefully the two would be the same...but as in this case they obviously weren't.
Then to some, a job is more important to some and they are willing to put their own ethical/moral convictions aside for that same paycheck. Otherwise, as it would be in my case, I'd have told them this wasn't working for me and quit. I do have the courage of MY convictions.
