ROFLMHO at that one, CC. While you're speaking for all others here....LOL....you should have clarified that you MEANT by many/most liberals. I've never had my 'credibility' question by any conservative. LOL How funny. Conservatives are a moral group...an honest group, on the whole....SO unlike liberals. Conservatives deal IN reality...again so unlike most liberals/progressives.
Don't EVER have a doubt in your mind that I would EVER care what you liberals think about MY credibility. I'd rather be DEAD because I'd know then I TOO had slipped into the famous liberal DENIAL of all FACTS/STATS.
Thanks for the GREAT laugh - that was VERY funny. You do have a sense of humor after all.

Foot-Tapping Ritual Common in Sex Sting
By STEVE KARNOWSKI
Associated Press Writer
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - A foot-tapping ritual was a common thread in many of the 41 arrests reported during a four-month airport bathroom sting that snared Sen. Larry Craig.
An undercover officer would take a seat in a stall. Soon another man would sit in the stall next door and start tapping his foot, perhaps moving it closer to the officer's. The officer would move his foot up and down slowly. The suspect might then extend his hand under the divider between the stalls, sometimes repeatedly. That would be enough to get the man busted.
Airport police reports obtained by The Associated Press gave strikingly similar accounts of the events that led to the 41 arrests officers made for alleged lewd conduct in public restrooms in the main terminal of the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport during the May-August sting.
::snip::
In several of the police reports, officers wrote that they knew from their training and work experience that the foot-tapping was a signal used by people looking for sex. The reports said the department had received complaints from the public and made numerous arrests.
Craig's alleged conduct closely followed the pattern described in several of the arrests. In his report, Sgt. Dave Karsnia said he went into a stall shortly after noon on June 11 and closed the door. Minutes later, the officer said he saw Craig peering into his stall through the crack between the door and the frame.
After a man in the adjacent stall left, Craig entered it and put his luggage against the front of the stall door, "which Sgt. Karsnia's experience has indicated is used to attempt to conceal sexual conduct by blocking the view from the front of the stall," said the complaint.
The complaint said Craig then tapped his right foot several times and moved it closer to Karsnia's stall and then moved it to where it touched Karsnia's foot. Karsnia recognized that "as a signal often used by persons communicating a desire to engage in sexual conduct," the complaint said.
Craig then passed his left hand under the stall divider into Karsnia's stall with his palm up and guided it along the divider toward the front of the stall three times, the complaint said.
The 40 others caught up in the sting, according to the police reports, included airport and airline employees, an account executive with Revlon, an IT consultant for Ernst & Young, a 3M executive and a Lands End employee.
In an incident June 25, Karsnia arrested three men at once.
He wrote in his report that he was waiting for two suspects to come out of their stalls to be arrested. Then a third suspect near urinals exposed himself to the officer with a smile. One of the suspects, according to the report, was "known" around the airport for lewd acts in the restrooms.
Police nabbed a few of the suspects by other means, such as responding to posts on Internet sites by men looking to arrange a quick hookup as they passed through the airport.
Some of the suspects were area residents; others were from out of town. Addresses ranged from ordinary local neighborhoods to New York's Park Avenue. The airport is the headquarters hub for Northwest Airlines, and thousands of passengers connect through it every day.
The charges ranged from misdemeanors such as loitering, disorderly conduct and indecent exposure, to gross misdemeanors such as interference with privacy. Some of the suspects denied to police that they were after sex, others admitted it. Most were cooperative with police.
One even told the arresting officer - Karsnia, the same officer who arrested Craig - "Thank you for being respectful, sir."

I wasn't going to chime in, but sorry, I had to.
The young gay men are AGAIN contacting hiv/aids, even today, because they have so much promiscuous sex without protection. They STILL haven't learned a thing...and they're still passing it around.
What's the excuse then for the rise in young people getting HIV? Women? Heterosexual men? They are still contracting HIV/AIDS because not enough has been done to cure the disease. Why would they ever cure it? It makes the pharmaceutical companies far too much money. The only way for anyone to be 100% safe is to abstain completely. But then, what of blood transfusions? Intravenous drug use?
I'm tired of the quiet innuendos that HIV/AIDS is a gay disease. It's thinking like that that is responsible for the rampant spread of the disease. HIV/AIDS is a human disease. It affects everyone it touches, even those it touches indirectly. I believe that in the 1980's most thought it was a way to rid the world of gays and not enough people cared. How wrong did the disease prove those people? With speed it spread to heteros and drug users, too. If they had cared more, my brother might still be alive today.
I work with people with HIV/AIDS three times a week in my non-profit. Not a one of them has multiple sex partners. They are either in a committed relationship or abstain because they do have the disease. If there are stats, I'd like to know the number of heterosexuals that were having sex with multiple partners in the 1960's.
Three of the earliest known instances of HIV infection are as follows:
1. A plasma sample taken in 1959 from an adult male living in what is now the Democratic Republic of Congo.
2. HIV found in tissue samples from an American teenager who died in St. Louis in 1969.
3. HIV found in tissue samples from a Norwegian sailor who died around 1976.

Nope because they are all goof balls like yuo.
Conservatives are a moral group...an honest group, on the whole....
Bush misled and continues to mislead the public on Iraq.
Conservartives like Craig, Foley and Haggart who preach one thing and do another. Conservatives like Gingrich who had an affair. If anything you conservartives are nothing but a group of hypocrites.
Conservatives deal IN reality...again so unlike most liberals/progressives.
You must be living in an alternate reality because your idea of reality is so far skewed it is funny that you continue to believe it.
I'd rather be DEAD because I'd know then I TOO had slipped into the famous liberal DENIAL of all FACTS/STATS.
So what is stopping you from being dead.

Linda must have some special powers since the article does not mention the sexual orientation of any of the men arrested in the sting. I guess she is just makes ASSUMPTIONS once again. Her posts never contain any truths and she never has any FACTS to back up her claims. Nothing but innuendos.

Coach's and Cheryl's credibility and knowledge of HIV has always come across loud and clear because it's obvious they are relating from personal experience, and actually CARE about the quality of life of the patients.

Cheryl, Bless you and your work! Thanks for the post and the link. Even though I have not worked in the HIV practice for 3 or 4 years now, I still e-mail, call and exchange cards with a lot of patients. Along with a lot of sadness, we also had lots of laughs. It is wonderful to know that they are doing well. I was very fortunate to have worked in that practice.

A little behind on the times and yet another chance for you to mention the Clinton name.
Can't find something recent so you have to mention a story from something that occurred in the 1980's - the same time when blood banks here in the US were still trying to develop a test to detect HIV in blood.
You still ignore the fact that HIV/AIDS has been around since the 1980's and despite all the information on how it is transmitted and how to protect yourself, it is still being transmitted by people of every race, sex, sexual orientation and age group.
If you bother to do any research, you will see the Clinton administration did more to fund HIV/AIDS reserach than Regean or Bush Sr.

Cheryl,
interesting article ,as far as the Haitian connection, back in the 50s and 60s a large number of Haitian professionals were hired by the Kenya govt to work in its capital.
Afterwards they either return to Haiti or emigrate to USA and Europe.
Some folks believe they are responsible for spreading the disease.
As for the primates being hunted down ,I have seen several documentaries and movies about locals killing the gorillas and selling them as food to the miners hired by western companies in Sierra Leone, baboons being hunted down and skinned and prepared by women using primitive knives,if these women have any open wound on their arms and hands or just by wiedling the knives could have cut themselves .
The Africans are not the only ones who eat monkeys and other primates.

Bear - Laying blame with anyone doesn't solve anything. Rather than debate who did or didn't cause what, I'd rather debate on how better to stop the spread of the disease. Reaching young people should be a priority. With their devil may care attitudes, I fear that in the future, they'll be suffering the most.
hwahwa - I couldn't imagine eating a primate. But then, I've never been starving nor have I been someplace where there wasn't anything else available. I don't think we'll ever really know where or even when it all started.

of course we shouldn't 'lay blame'.....lol
The liberals can't handle the truth of who spread hiv/aids so quickly to OTHER citizens when it first started in the US. It was the gay community. But they can't STAND it when anyone presents the facts....liberals HATE facts and don't want them mentioned.
LOL

"pharmaceutical companies"
LOL....A NEW liberal conspiracy...it's the pharmaceutical companies who are to blame now. LOL LOL LOL
Pure liberal thinking/blaming.
Can't EVER put the blame on all those who are acting in promiscuous ways. Nope...it's NEVER their fault THEY became infected because of THEIR OWN poor choices.
And the liberals SUPPORT and DEFEND this behavior. There are consequences to EVERYTHING in our lives. They come from our OWN lifestyle choices.
Get real

Cities trying to attrack gays to their communities FOR THEIR MONEY also work against gay men having sex in public bathrooms. That then causes another BIG, hysterical outroar because people with FAMILIES don't approve of their public, sexual actions. Imo, they need to take it back to their own bedrooms.

Only people like you could come to that conclusion by reading this Newsday article. From 2005 through the first half of 2007, there were 92 arrests(3 a month)for lewd and lacivious behavior. Besides sex in bathrooms between men, that would also include sex between men and women, public nudity, peeping toms, indecent exposure, peeing in public. There is nothing to indicate that the public bathrooms in Ft. Lauderdale are over run with homosexual acts. The only thing this article really proved is that the Mayor is a bigot.

Sure to you liberals he's a bigot because you're so confused. He was elected to represent ALL citizens....not just gays and their sexual desires they can't control.
He's not to American families who have morals, who elected him and don't approve of the laws being broken by gay men - in hiding - having anonymous sex in bathrooms where they and their children are exposed to such perversion. That's why it's against the law in the first place.
No, liberals are trying to indoctrinate our children that this behavior is normal. It's NOT....and should be kept behind closed doors....not on public display.
Liberals approve of the most disgusting behaviors while calling others names. Anything for a vote or two. tsk tsk tsk

Stupid, the word is "attract" not "attrack".
Your total ignorance and lack of education are not only showcased in your inability to spell but the above quote is just too stupid for words.
"outroar" ???? Gee, dolt, don't you mean "uproar"..
"also work against gay men having sex in public bathrooms. "Work against" ?????? What an awkward sentence??? Do you mean "have laws against public indecency" ??
"People with FAMILIES" ... families ??? What has having a family got to do with the law?????? It's only families causing an uproar???
REPUBLICAN SENATOR CRAIG broke the law and is a two-faced, law breaking REPUBLICAN.......sums up the OP pretty well

Your lack of comprehension is incredible. No where did I say soliciting sex in bathrooms is normal or acceptable behavior. I know of no liberal who believes that this is ok. It is against the law and should be. What I said is the mayor is way overstating the problem and has the public frightened. In 2 1/2 years they had 92 arrests--that is 3 a month--for lewd and lacivious behavior. Those arrests include homosexual solicitation in bathrooms, heterosexual solicitation in bathrooms, public nudity, peeping toms and a host of like crimes. The vast majority of gays do not solicit sex in public bathrooms, just like the vast majority of heterosexuals do not solicit sex in public bathrooms. This mayor is a bigot as he shows in speeches where he stereotypes gays.

Yep. That is part of Linda's problem. She can not interpret what is presented in an article. Her mind makes her believe something other than what is actually written in an article. She was totally wrong on what her so-called facts were regarding the HIV statistics. She will beleive what she wants to believe because she incapable of actually reading what is stated.

Linda interprets this as being there is rampant gay sex in all public bathrooms. Three incidents a month is hardly rampant especially when the numbers are not broken down by who was performing them.
She interprets this part of the article as if the acts are just being performed by homosexuals: Those arrests include homosexual solicitation in bathrooms, heterosexual solicitation in bathrooms, public nudity, peeping toms and a host of like crimes.
Linda did you brain forget to process this sentence : The vast majority of gays do not solicit sex in public bathrooms, just like the vast majority of heterosexuals do not solicit sex in public bathrooms.

I AM pointing out that it's hate filled bigots like linduh who force people like him to live a lie and seek what he wants in public restrooms.
If he would've had the courage and backbone to ignore uneducated dolts like linduh, to admit to who he is 25-30 years ago this incident wouldn't have necessitated him resigning.
So linduh has aided in getting rid of another Republican !

Idaho Senator Withdraws Resignation
Less than one week after announcing his intention to resign from office, embattled Sen. Larry Craig (R-Idaho) changed course today, telling reporters in Washington, "I will not blow this job."
Over the past few days, there had been whispers in Republican circles that Sen. Craig had, in the words of one of the Idaho senator's associates, "pulled out too early,"
"At the end of the day, Larry does not want to blow this job," the associate said. "He will do whatever it takes to win back the support of his constituents, even if it means getting down on his knees."
Another associate of Sen. Craig's agreed that the Idaho senator announced his intention to vacate his Senate seat too hastily: "I think Larry now feels that to leave office on September 30 would be a premature evacuation."
Sen. Craig got a key vote of support from Sen. Arlen Specter (R-Penn), who held a press conference at the Senate today to call the charges against the Idaho senator a "bum rap."
But even as Sen. Craig picked up the support of Sen. Specter, a source close to the Republican caucus indicated that most Republicans are "backing away"
from Sen. Craig.
For his part, Sen. Craig told reporters that he would take whatever steps are necessary to find favor with his Republican colleagues: "I will absolutely bend over backwards."
