And Rush is LAUGHING at the wacko liberals.

http://www.rushlimbaugh.com/home/daily/site_100107/content/01125112.guest.html

They are such jokes themselves, continuing to use a LIE for political gain.

Most Americans are FULLY aware that the 'SURRENDER' - 'we've lost the war' defeatests having nothing more to offer but their LIES.

tsk tsk tsk

Yea, they support our military alright....they prove that by all the NAMES and lies they've told about them and their actions.

=============

RUSH: (laughing) He's gotta be a nut. I cannot believe that they are actually going this far with this. I did apologize today to the troops, Senator Reid, for you, and for Media Matters for America. If anybody in this country has been trying to demoralize the troops, it is you, sir, and your members of the Democrat Party. You have waved the white flag of defeat. You have claimed that they cannot win. You are trying to shift the focus from your perception, the perception, accurately, that people have of you and your party, to me, who everyone who has listened to me any length of time whatsoever knows that these allegations are just totally untrue.

As to why I'm on the Armed Forces Radio network, it was President Clinton's defense secretary, Les Aspin, who secured an hour of this program on the Armed Forces Radio network, and because I was requested. They did a poll of the troops back then, and the troops requested that this program be on Armed Forces Radio. Did you notice in this bite, since I've never been to combat, I'm not qualified -- which is another liberal assault on free speech. If you haven't done something, you're not allowed to talk about it, Senator Reid says.

====

RUSH: Well, now it's a full-fledged assault. Senator Tom "Dung Heap" Harkin is on the floor of the Senate denouncing me. Once again, Senator Harkin, Senator Reid: Face me like a man and stop hiding behind the microphones in the Senate where you can say whatever you want to say. Come on my program and say all of these things to my face and let's go at it.

You know, Harry Reid and had liberals here, folks, what they're trying to do -- one other thing -- is put words in the military's mouth. They lie about the premise, then they speak on behalf of the military which they claim to be upset about, which is what they've been lying about in the first place! They are the ones who have been condemning the military. They are the ones who have been demoralizing the military. They are the ones who have -- I can't say this more powerfully enough -- trying to secure defeat for the US military. They know it and everyone else does, and now they try to turn the tables and make it sound like one of the most ardent supporters of the US military is being "unpatriotic," this to cover their own lack of patriotism.

Again, the liberals PROVE their distain for our military. Rush is correct.....as honest people can easily see.

----

How they 'support the troops

'
The Senate's version of the defense authorization, which is expected to pass later today, is yet another reflection of the contempt many Democrats have for the military.

Antiwar lawmakers led by like Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and Sen. Edward Kennedy have jeopardized passage of the bill, which provides critically needed funding for military operations in Iraq and Afghanistan, by attaching a poison pill: legislation granting homosexuals additional protection under federal "hate crimes" laws.

On Thursday, the Senate voted 60 to 39 to end a filibuster against an amendment by Mr. Kennedy to give the Justice Department the responsibility for investigating crimes believed to have been motivated by sexual orientation that it has for racially or religiously motivated crimes. Forty-nine Democrats, two independents and nine Republicans provided the 60 votes (the minimum required) to end the filibuster. Mr. Kennedy, who observed that no president had ever vetoed a defense authorization bill, said the hate-crimes measure belonged on the bill dealing with terrorism overseas because hate crimes are a domestic form of terrorism. GIVE ME A BREAK - try and lay OFF the bottle, kennedy, it's affected your brain.

The senator appears to think that the American people are idiots — unable to distinguish between jihadists, often with the support of foreign governments, who plant IEDs and blow up mosques, railway stations and hotels on the one hand, and ordinary street hoodlums in this country whose apprehension and prosecution has traditionally been the responsibility of state and local government authorities on the other hand.

Fortunately, Mr. Bush understands the difference and he has threatened to veto the Kennedy measure as a stand-alone bill. He should do the same with the defense authorization if a conference committee fails to take it out.

The Kennedy amendment attaches to the defense authorization a measure named the Matthew Shepard Act after a homosexual University of Wyoming student who was beaten to death in 1998. It would make it easier for victims to prove that a crime was motivated by bias and would add to the law crimes targeting someone due to sexual orientation, gender identity or disability. But neither Mr. Kennedy nor his allies have demonstrated that there is some epidemic of anti-homosexual violence that state and local authorities can't or won't prosecute. We have serious doubts about the very idea of "hate crimes" laws, which prosecute people for their thoughts rather than their criminal behavior.

Nevertheless, today, 46 states have such laws. In Mr. Shepard's own case, it should be pointed out, his killers are serving life sentences in prison for felony murder. Nor is it even clear that Mr. Shepard was killed because of his homosexuality. When ABC Television's "20/20" investigated his slaying, they interviewed prosecutors, police and the girlfriend of one of the killers: most of the people interviewed said that the motive for the murder was robbery, and expressed doubt that Mr. Shepard was targeted because of his sexual preference.

But in the surreal world of Congress, none of that really matters. Senate Democrats found what they thought was the perfect legislative vehicle to undercut the war effort and curry favor with powerful homosexual-rights organizations such as the Human Rights Campaign, and they have done so — putting at risk a bill that includes military pay raises and funds for wounded veterans. But Mr. Kennedy's irresponsible amendment would not have survived the filibuster if it weren't for votes of the following nine Republican senators: Norm Coleman (Minnesota); Susan Collins, (Maine); Judd Gregg (New Hampshire); Dick Lugar (Indiana); Gordon Smith (Oregon); Olympia Snowe (Maine); Arlen Specter (Pennsylvania); George Voinovich (Ohio); and John Warner (Virginia).

During the current Congress, many lawmakers have tried to argue that, even though they oppose the war, they still "support the troops." If they really mean it, they should remove the Matthew Shepard Act from the defense bill. If they don't mean it, the president should veto the bill.

HOUSE RESOLUTION SUPPORTING LIMBAUGH
Mon Oct 01 2007 15:16:57 ET

IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OCTOBER 1, 2007

Mr. KINGSTON submitted the following resolution

Honoring all Americans serving in the Armed Forces of the United States and commending broadcaster Rush Limbaugh for his relentless efforts to build and maintain troop morale through worldwide radio broadcasts and personal visits to conflict regions.

Whereas the need to show support for American troops serving and fighting both here and abroad during a time of global conflict has never been greater, with the need to communicate an uplifting message of encouragement to American soldiers eternally important, in addition to the morale-boosting value of personal visits to combat region by highly-regarded individuals;

Whereas every American, to include service men and women and broadcasters, is entitled to free speech and the free exchange of ideas; Whereas daily radio broadcasts reaching tens of millions of civilians and soldiers both in America and abroad by way of the Armed Forces Radio Network are conducted five days a week by Rush Hudson Limbaugh III;

Whereas Mr. Limbaugh has consistently used his broadcast time to praise American troops and support them during their ongoing efforts to secure peace in a troubled world;

Whereas Mr. Limbaugh has met with troops in Afghanistan; raised and donated millions of dollars to the Marine Corps Law Enforcement Foundation, which provides college scholarships to the children of Marines and veterans of other branches killed in action; features an “Adopt a Soldier” program which provides them with free subscription access to his online program features; and Whereas Mr. Limbaugh’s commitment to American troops serving both here and abroad remains as strong as ever: Now, therefore, be it Resolved by the House of Representatives, Section 1. The House of Representatives makes the following findings:

(1) Americans serving in the United States Armed Forces have volunteered for such service and have not been drafted for that purpose.

(2) Those who serve in the Armed Forces deserve the respect of all Americans for their willingness to undertake that service

(3) Those who serve in the Armed Forces do not relinquish their constitutional right to express their opinions regarding public policy in a manner consistent with good order and discipline.

Sec. 2. House of Representatives—

(1) recognizes the service of all members of the Armed Forces serving in good standing and with honor to defend the United States, and the personal sacrifices made by them and their families;

(2) commits to judge the merits of the opinions of members of the Armed Forces regarding the policies of the United States, including those related to military actions in Iraq, without prejudice or personal bias;

(3) commends Mr. Limbaugh’s desire to see American troops achieve a successful outcome in Iraq, Afghanistan and wherever soldiers are stationed and his tireless public support for American troops and their families through radio broadcasts, fundraising and other public support;

(4) honors all members of the Armed Forces and civilian personnel serving in harm’s way, as well as their families; and

(5) pledges to debate any supplemental funding request or any policy decisions regarding the war in Iraq with the solemn respect and the commitment to integrity that the sacrifices of these members of the Armed Forces and civilian personnel deserve.

Rush to Sen. Reid: 'Say it to my face'
Talk host replies after Senate speech demanding apology to U.S. troops
Posted: October 1, 2007

© 2007 WorldNetDaily.com

Rush Limbaugh fired back today at Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid after the Nevada Democrat made a speech on the Senate floor denouncing the talk radio host for allegedly making a "hateful" and "unpatriotic" attack on U.S. troops opposed to the war in Iraq.

Limbaugh, contending he was "smeared" with false charges, demanded Reid come on the top-rated radio program, confront him "like a man" and "stop hiding behind the speech-and-debate clause and your Senate immunity."

"You want to come on this program and call me unpatriotic, come on this program and call me unpatriotic," Limbaugh said. "You want to call me a liar, you want to tell me that I did not say what I said, you come on this program and you tell me to my face that I said what I did not say."

Democrats contend Limbaugh characterized anti-war troops as "phony soldiers," but Limbaugh points out his reference was to Jesse MacBeth, who was uncovered as a fraud after claiming atrocities by U.S. troops.

Video of Reid's remarks, broadcast by C-Span 2, were posted by blogger

Meanwhile, the House is considering a resolution in support of Limbaugh, commending him "for his ongoing public support of American troops serving both here and abroad."

emocrats seized on the issue as a counterattack to criticism from Republicans over a MoveOn.org ad that referred to Gen. David Petraeus as "General Betray Us."

Reid, demanding Limbaugh apologize to U.S. troops, told his Senate colleagues:

Last week, Rush Limbaugh went way over the line, way over the line. While I respect his right to say anything he likes, his unpatriotic comments I cannot ignore. During his show last Wednesday, Limbaugh was engaged in one of his typical rants. This one was unremarkable, indistinguishable from his usual drivel, which has been steadily losing listeners for years, until he crossed that line by calling our men and women in uniform who oppose the war in Iraq, and I quote, "phony soldiers." This comment was so beyond the pale of decency, and we can't leave it alone. And yet he followed it up with denials and an attack on Congressman Jack Murtha, who was a 37-year active member of the Marine Corps, combat veteran.

Responding after playing clips of Reid's speech on his program today, Limbaugh said he did make an apology -- on behalf of Democrats for their "smear campaign."

Reid, said Limbaugh, knows what he is saying is false, but "he just wants to get this in the Congressional Record now" as a way "to discredit me and rehabilitate the Democrats."

Limbaugh called Reid's speech "Kafkaesque," noting he had just finished an interview with Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, "talking about the lies and stuff spread about him during his confirmation hearings, and now I, little old private citizen, Rush Limbaugh, the subject of Senate action, the subject today of House of Representatives action, all based on a purposely told lie, which they know is a lie, and yet they are persisting in this."

"Followed it up with denials?" said Limbaugh incredulously. "I followed it up with setting the record straight. By the way, on my website, folks, all of this is there. It's been up there all weekend, and we added something last night that you have to see."

Limbaugh noted the "phony soldiers" label was used a week ago by ABC News, which presented a feature by investigative reporter Brian Ross on MacBeth. Regarding Murtha, he said, "I just did a story today saying that he has been sued by a soldier for calling him a murderer. I just reported the news today, and yet this is reported as an attack on Congressman Jack Murtha."

Sen. Tom Harkin, D-Iowa, also denounced Limbaugh from the Senate floor, charging the radio host says "provocative things to make more money," noted the blog Think Progress.

He suggested, however, there may be another explanation for the "phony soldiers" remark.

"Well, I don’t know. Maybe he was just high on his drugs again," Harkin said. "I don't know whether he was or not. If so, he ought to let us know. But that shouldn't be an excuse."

Will House Democrats Also Castigate ABC News for This Report on "Phony Heroes" and Jesse MacBeth?

Thanks for the more recent update, Bear.

It's good to see those who have ALWAYS supported our military, our troops speaking out in defense of them.

Rather than listening to the phony support the liberal left PRETENDS to give them when they believe they can USE something they lie about against those who do REALLY support our military.

Shame on them.....continuing to LIE about so many things. Imo, just shows how DESPERATE they are now that things ARE improving in Iraq. Now that the see Americans WANT to see us SUCCEED.

Anti-war veterans take to the air against Limbaugh
by Mark Silva

Anti-war veterans are not letting up on Rush Limbaugh, the radio talk show host who derisively spoke of "phony soldiers'' last week during an on-air conversation with callers about people calling for the withdrawal of troops from iraq.

A leading anti-war veterans coalition is taking out television ads on Fox News and CNN Wednesday and Thursday. The ads feature a wounded veteran saying: "More and more troops and veterans of Iraq believe George Bush's military policy has been a disaster.''

The ad pictures not only the decorated soldier's Purple Heart, but also the scars of his head wound and strong anti-war talk.

Limbaugh's "phony soldiers'' comment has been something of a public relations disaster for the conservative commentator -- or perhaps a boon, depending on one's point of view. Limbaugh claims he was not alluding to war-protesting veterans in general, but only one, Jesse MacBeth, who had told stories of witnessing atrocities in Iraq but was later found to have never served there. MacBeth has since pled guilty in federal court to making a false statement to the VA.

Yet Limbaugh's "rant,'' as Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid called it this week, certainly sounded like a slap at "phony soldiers'' protesting the war -- and Limbaugh went on to expand his roster of "genuine phony soldiers'' on his show Friday, adding Rep. Jack Murtha of Pennsylania, a retired Marine colonel and decorated Vietnam veteran who opposes the war in Iraq.

Limbaugh maintains it is his critics who owe veterans an apology for misconstruing his remarks. Critics are pressing Limbaugh for the same.

"This is not just the anatomy of a smear,'' Limbaugh complained on his program yesterday. "There's much more going on with this than just smearing me. There is an attempt, I think, as they have done throughout my career, to discredit me.''

VoteVets.org, a group of Iraq and Afghanistan veterans, is launching a modest run of TV ads -- there's only $60,000 behind an overall TV and radio buy, which won't corner much cable time. The group says it will air a radio version of the ad during the Rush Limbaugh Show in the Washington, DC., market and and in his home market of Palm Beach, Florida.

The ad features Brian McGough of Washington, who was wounded by shrapnel in an enemy's explosion. McGough received the Purple Heart for his traumatic brain injury.

"More and more troops and veterans of Iraq believe George Bush's military policy has been a disaster...I am one of them,'' McGough says in the ad, facing the camera with stern words for the radio commentator. "Rush Limbaugh called vets like me "phony soldiers" for telling the truth about Iraq.

"Rush, the shrapnel I took to my head was real,'' he continues. "My traumatic brain injury was real. And, my belief that we are on the wrong course in Iraq is real. Until you have the guts to call me a "phony solider" to my face, stop telling lies about my service."

The ad closes with the comment: "Tell Rush Limbaugh to stop insulting our troops and veterans.''

Jon Soltz, an Iraq war Veteran and chairman of VoteVets.org, says: "Maybe Rush Limbaugh and his ilk haven't heard, but there's a new sheriff in town - America's troops and veterans, who are not going to sit idle while people like Rush demean the service of those who oppose the President's failed policy in Iraq.

"Maybe Rush got away with smears like this in the past, but he's not going to on our watch,'' Soltz says. "There's nothing phony about those who chose to wear the uniform and fight. And someone like Rush Limbaugh, who avoided service, is the one of the least qualified people on the face of the earth to pass judgment on us."

During the September 26 broadcast of his nationally syndicated radio show, Rush Limbaugh called service members who advocate U.S. withdrawal from Iraq "phony soldiers." He made the comment while discussing with a caller a conversation he had with a previous caller, "Mike from Chicago," who said he "used to be military," and "believe[s] that we should pull out of Iraq." Limbaugh told the second caller, whom he identified as "Mike, this one from Olympia, Washington," that "[t]here's a lot" that people who favor U.S. withdrawal "don't understand" and that when asked why the United States should pull out, their only answer is, " 'Well, we just gotta bring the troops home.' ... 'Save the -- keeps the troops safe' or whatever," adding, "[I]t's not possible, intellectually, to follow these people." "Mike" from Olympia replied, "No, it's not, and what's really funny is, they never talk to real soldiers. They like to pull these soldiers that come up out of the blue and talk to the media." Limbaugh interjected, "The phony soldiers." The caller, who had earlier said, "I am a serving American military, in the Army," agreed, replying, "The phony soldiers."

On August 19, The New York Times published an op-ed by seven members of the U.S. Army 82nd Airborne Division. They ended their assessment of the situation in Iraq with the following passage:

In a lawless environment where men with guns rule the streets, engaging in the banalities of life has become a death-defying act. Four years into our occupation, we have failed on every promise, while we have substituted Baath Party tyranny with a tyranny of Islamist, militia and criminal violence. When the primary preoccupation of average Iraqis is when and how they are likely to be killed, we can hardly feel smug as we hand out care packages. As an Iraqi man told us a few days ago with deep resignation, "We need security, not free food."

In the end, we need to recognize that our presence may have released Iraqis from the grip of a tyrant, but that it has also robbed them of their self-respect. They will soon realize that the best way to regain dignity is to call us what we are -- an army of occupation -- and force our withdrawal.

Until that happens, it would be prudent for us to increasingly let Iraqis take center stage in all matters, to come up with a nuanced policy in which we assist them from the margins but let them resolve their differences as they see fit. This suggestion is not meant to be defeatist, but rather to highlight our pursuit of incompatible policies to absurd ends without recognizing the incongruities.

We need not talk about our morale. As committed soldiers, we will see this mission through.

On September 12, The New York Times noted: "Two of the soldiers who wrote of their pessimism about the war in an Op-Ed article that appeared in The New York Times on Aug. 19 were killed in Baghdad on Monday."

As Media Matters for America has documented, Limbaugh denounced as "contemptible" and "indecent" MoveOn.org's much-discussed advertisement -- titled "General Petraeus or General Betray Us?" -- critical of Gen. David Petraeus, but has repeatedly attacked the patriotism of those with whom he disagrees. For instance, on the January 25 broadcast of his radio show, he told his audience that he had a new name for Sen. Chuck Hagel (R-NE), a Vietnam veteran: "Senator Betrayus." A day earlier, Hagel had sided with Democrats on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee in voting to approve a nonbinding resolution declaring that President Bush's escalation in Iraq was against "the national interest." Additionally, on August 21, 2006, Limbaugh said: "I want to respectfully disagree with the president on the last part of what he said. I am going to challenge the patriotism of people who disagree with him because the people that disagree with him want to lose."

As Media Matters has also documented, on the August 2, 2005, program, Limbaugh repeatedly referred to Iraq war veteran and then-Democratic congressional candidate Paul Hackett as "another liberal Democrat trying to hide behind a military uniform" and accused him of going to Iraq "to pad the resumé." On the day of Limbaugh's comments, Hackett narrowly lost a special election to Republican Jean Schmidt for Ohio's 2nd Congressional District seat.

From the September 26 broadcast of Premiere Radio Networks' The Rush Limbaugh Show:

LIMBAUGH: Mike in Chicago, welcome to the EIB Network. Hello.

CALLER 1: Hi Rush, how you doing today?

LIMBAUGH: I'm fine sir, thank you.

CALLER 1: Good. Why is it that you always just accuse the Democrats of being against the war and suggest that there are absolutely no Republicans that could possibly be against the war?

LIMBAUGH: Well, who are these Republicans? I can think of Chuck Hagel, and I can think of Gordon Smith, two Republican senators, but they don't want to lose the war like the Democrats do. I can't think of -- who are the Republicans in the anti-war movement?

CALLER 1: I'm just -- I'm not talking about the senators. I'm talking about the general public -- like you accuse the public of all the Democrats of being, you know, wanting to lose, but --

LIMBAUGH: Oh, come on! Here we go again. I uttered a truth, and you can't handle it, so you gotta call here and change the subject. How come I'm not also hitting Republicans? I don't know a single Republican or conservative, Mike, who wants to pull out of Iraq in defeat. The Democrats have made the last four years about that specifically.

CALLER 1: Well, I am a Republican, and I've listened to you for a long time, and you're right on a lot of things, but I do believe that we should pull out of Iraq. I don't think it's winnable. And I'm not a Democrat, but I just -- sometimes you've got to cut the losses.

LIMBAUGH: Well, you -- you --

CALLER 1: I mean, sometimes you really gotta know when you're wrong.

LIMBAUGH: Well, yeah, you do. I'm not wrong on this. The worst thing that can happen is losing this, flying out of there, waving the white flag. Do you have --

CALLER 1: Oh, I'm not saying that. I'm not saying anything like that, but, you know --

LIMBAUGH: Well, of course you are.

CALLER 1: No, I'm not.

LIMBAUGH: Bill, the truth is -- the truth is the truth, Mike.

CALLER 1: We did what we were supposed to do, OK. We got rid of Saddam Hussein. We got rid of a lot of the terrorists. Let them run their country --

LIMBAUGH: Oh, good lord! Good lord.

[...]

CALLER 1: How long is it gonna -- how long do you think we're going to have to be there for them to take care of that?

LIMBAUGH: Mike --

CALLER 1: How long -- you know -- what is it?

LIMBAUGH: Mike --

CALLER 1: What is it?

LIMBAUGH: Mike, you can't possibly be a Republican.

CALLER 1: I am.

LIMBAUGH: You are -- you are --

CALLER 1: I am definitely a Republican.

LIMBAUGH: You can't be a Republican. You are --

CALLER 1: Oh, I am definitely a Republican.

LIMBAUGH: You are tarnishing the reputation, 'cause you sound just like a Democrat.

CALLER 1: No, but --

LIMBAUGH: The answer to your question --

CALLER 1: -- seriously, how long do we have to stay there --

LIMBAUGH: As long as it takes!

CALLER 1: -- to win it? How long?

LIMBAUGH: As long as it takes! It is very serious.

CALLER 1: And that is what?

LIMBAUGH: This is the United States of America at war with Islamofascists. We stay as long -- just like your job. You do everything you have to do, whatever it takes to get it done, if you take it seriously.

CALLER 1: So then you say we need to stay there forever --

LIMBAUGH: I -- it won't --

CALLER 1: -- because that's what it'll take.

LIMBAUGH: No, Bill, or Mike -- I'm sorry. I'm confusing you with the guy from Texas.

CALLER 1: See, I -- I've used to be military, OK? And I am a Republican.

LIMBAUGH: Yeah. Yeah.

CALLER 1: And I do live [inaudible] but --

LIMBAUGH: Right. Right. Right, I know.

CALLER 1: -- you know, really -- I want you to be saying how long it's gonna take.

LIMBAUGH: And I, by the way, used to walk on the moon!

CALLER 1: How long do we have to stay there?

LIMBAUGH: You're not listening to what I say. You can't possibly be a Republican. I'm answering every question. That's not what you want to hear, so it's not even penetrating your little wall of armor you've got built up.

[...]

LIMBAUGH: Another Mike, this one in Olympia, Washington. Welcome to the EIB Network. Hello.

CALLER 2: Hi Rush, thanks for taking my call.

LIMBAUGH: You bet.

CALLER 2: I have a retort to Mike in Chicago, because I am a serving American military, in the Army. I've been serving for 14 years, very proudly.

LIMBAUGH: Thank you, sir.

CALLER 2: And, you know, I'm one of the few that joined the Army to serve my country, I'm proud to say, not for the money or anything like that. What I would like to retort to is that, if we pull -- what these people don't understand is if we pull out of Iraq right now, which is about impossible because of all the stuff that's over there, it'd take us at least a year to pull everything back out of Iraq, then Iraq itself would collapse, and we'd have to go right back over there within a year or so. And --

LIMBAUGH: There's a lot more than that that they don't understand. They can't even -- if -- the next guy that calls here, I'm gonna ask him: Why should we pull -- what is the imperative for pulling out? What's in it for the United States to pull out? They can't -- I don't think they have an answer for that other than, "Well, we just gotta bring the troops home."

CALLER 2: Yeah, and, you know what --

LIMBAUGH: "Save the -- keep the troops safe" or whatever. I -- it's not possible, intellectually, to follow these people.

CALLER 2: No, it's not, and what's really funny is, they never talk to real soldiers. They like to pull these soldiers that come up out of the blue and talk to the media.

LIMBAUGH: The phony soldiers.

CALLER 2: The phony soldiers. If you talk to a real soldier, they are proud to serve. They want to be over in Iraq. They understand their sacrifice, and they're willing to sacrifice for their country.

LIMBAUGH: They joined to be in Iraq. They joined --

CALLER 2: A lot of them -- the new kids, yeah.

LIMBAUGH: Well, you know where you're going these days, the last four years, if you signed up. The odds are you're going there or Afghanistan or somewhere.

CALLER 2: Exactly, sir.

Listened to General Wesley Clark tonight. He is disgusted with Rush Limbaugh and would like to see his radio show pulled from Armed Forces Radio, so that troops don't have to listen to his ridiculous statements about phony soldiers. There are soldiers who support the war, there are soldiers who are against the war and there are soldiers with no opinion--just doing their jobs. All of these soldiers are performing their sworn duty. Can't call General Clark a commie liberal.

He's just ANOTHER liberal who can't handle any conservative being allowed to express their views/opinions.

They have ALWAYS been upset that our soldiers get these PRO-MILITARY radio programs and have LONG worked to put a stop to it. The liberals pretty much control the MSM and it upsets them that they can't do the same with the radio audiences. They WHINE and WHINE they want equal time.....when most of the soldiers aren't interested in listening to those who work against them and their missions.

It's called liberal CENSORSHIP.....and they never stop trying to shut down the voices of opposition. tsk, tsk tsk.

Do you think the soldiers enjoy listening to Limbaugh disparage other soldiers? Even so, the liberal host of the show he was a guest on actually disagreed about taking him off Armed Forces Radio--free speech and all. The General felt Limbaugh was way off base and even went so far as to edit the transcript to fit his lame explanation. Clark feels very strongly about the soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan and to have to listen to a blowhard who never served in the military disparage them must have been difficult. Your usual answer is to call someone a liberal--as though that explains everything.

Gen. Clark is a highly decorated Viet Nam Veteran, former NATO Supreme Commander who graduated FIRST in his class at West Point. He has credentials up the wazoo.

LOL CC.

Where was the liberal OUTRAGE when all your party's anti-troop statements were made?

This is NOTHING more than LIES from the liberal left and it's being used for all it's worth.

ANYONE who has EVER listened to Rush KNOWS he is very much PRO-MILITARY.....while the liberals like kerry, reid, murtha, kennedy and the rest of the military haters have ALL make several insulting statements/comments about the military. And THEN the liberal left is in AGREEMENT with them. NO OUTRAGE then.

You liberals fool NO ONE. You're a JOKE....take any lie and try and make something out of it. It's YOUR LIE.

I personally believe this latest smear on ANY free speech from PRO-MILITARY supporters comes BECAUSE the liberals are SO embarrassed that THEY were SUCKERED into believing LIARS like macbeth - THE phony soldier.

LOL

You liberals LOVE quoting any liar who says ANYTHING negative about our troops. You don't NEED PROOF of guilt. Nope, you'll believe anything some anti-military site like media matters prints.......when they're no better than dan rather was...stating LIES- unsubstantiated anti-troop LIES. And the liberal left SUCK THEM UP.

THEN when these "phony" soldiers are outed....the liberal left is forced to see the TRUTH....and the falsehood of the anti-military SET UPS THEY so supported.

The liberals have GOOD reason to be embarrassed - being so gullible to believe those LIARS. 'oh look....here's a soldier telling us how our soldiers are REALLY behaving'.....LOL LOL

pathetic

edited to add:

On Tuesday, Limbaugh returned to Macbeth, noting that the convicted soldier's false accounts were merely the latest in a string of reports that Limbaugh has covered on his show.

"This is a willful and purposeful missing of the context of this program," Limbaugh said of arguments regarding his use of the plural to describe the Macbeth story. "We have discussed many of these phony soldiers over the course of the last few months. We discuss them constantly. Macbeth was just the latest."

He then quoted a Sept. 21 release from the U.S. Attorneys Office from the Western District of Washington state referring to eight "phony vets" who had scammed more than $1.4 million by lying about their military service for financial gain.

Rush has called Murtha a "phony soldier" as well so your claim that he was only referring to one person is ridiculous.

You are the one who is pathetic. Rush Limbaugh is pro Rush Limbaugh. Whatever gets him attention from weak-minded people who cannot think for themselves, is ok with him. Just the fact that you call General Wesley Clark anti-military shows how severe your problems are. The full transcript of Limbaugh's remarks show exactly what he meant--any soldier who does not agree with his opinions is a phony soldier. He wasn't talking about just Macbeth, who, by the way, is one person out of hundreds of thousands of brave soldiers who perform their duties whether or not they agree with the policy. Limbaugh compared Brian McGuff, a soldier seriously wounded in Iraq, to a suicide bomber. Ironically McGuff suffered a severe brain injury due to an attack by a suicide bomber. He is a callous, egocentric man.

linduh called our female soldiers "he-men" who should be home baking cookies and now acts like it's the LIBERALS who are showing our troops disrespect.
NO, LINDUHKKK showed total disrespect for our troops .....

MY! How she loves to apply her famous "double standards " to herself !

She talks about liberals whining and yet, what have her posts been if not whining about every pimple on America's butt...blaming liberals for every thing when she has NO poof they were liberals or not....not answering pertinent questions that fly in the face of her "logic".

She finds so much wrong with America and stupidly fails to acknowledge WHO has been in charge for the last 7 years...

Since she equates bushit with god...why hasn't he fixed everything....why is he only capable of destroying ??????

Oh...lol....it comes as NO surprise those liberals on the left don't LIKE Rush.

That's NOT what this latest SMEAR is all about. It's about the LIES of the twisters of a pro-military supporter...and their DENIAL of the 'phony soldiers' who they're always SO quick to believe. sk tsk tsk

Nothing more than 'get back' for the conservatives making voters aware of their 'General BETRAY US' garbage.

It's NOT working.

Bennett Corrects Blitzer on Rush, CNN Cites 'Chicken Hawk' Insult

Bill Bennett corrected CNN's Wolf Blitzer's presumption on Monday that Rush Limbaugh's "phony soldiers" comment was directed at soldiers who served in Iraq and now oppose the war, but in setting up the "Strategy Session" segment on Tuesday's
The Situation Room, Blitzer again adopted as fact the spin of the far-left group pushing the attack on Limbaugh. With the text on screen, Blitzer highlighted how "Democratic Congressman Patrick Murphy of Pennsylvania...says: 'Someone should tell chicken hawk Rush Limbaugh that the only phonies are those who choose not to serve and then criticize those who do.'"

To Bennett and Donna Brazile, Blitzer wondered: "What do you make of this strategy that Harry Reid...and others are saying now that Rush Limbaugh was inappropriately offensive to veterans?"

Bennett retorted with "not much" and observed: "When you shoot at a king, and he's the king of talk radio, you better get him. They didn't get him here."

On Tuesday morning, CNN's Kiran Chetry proposed: "Two weeks after Republicans went after MoveOn.org's 'General Betray Us' ad, the Democrats are turning the tables on Rush Limbaugh. They say that he made hateful and unpatriotic remarks about U.S. troops." Not until the end, after relaying Senator Tom Harkin's insult that "maybe he was just high on his drugs," did Chetry provide Limbaugh's take.

There is no need to twist Limbaugh's words. He said it in plain English, a language with which you have difficulty. He is the one who is doing the spinning. As for the Gen. Petraeus ad, many liberals, including myself, did not support that tactic. He is a respected general who was put between a rock and a hard place by Bush and Congress.

As to the moveon.org general betrayus thing:

Paraphrasing: just MORE conservative who can't handle any liberal being allowed to express their views/opinions.

linduh, why is your biggest complaint/issue "double standards"?

It's a fact of life...everyone's life. ADULTS realize this and move on to important issues. Why can't you ever present an opinion where you're not screaming "double standards"
as your argument?

Maybe because you have nothing else?????

Oh, don't worry, I don't hold my breath expecting you to answer any questions......you haven't the mental ability...
