Hello everyone involved in this AD mess! I got my refund from PayPal (the funds are actually in my account this morning)! Even though I thought I may have been too late in making my complaints and asking for a refund, I took Pocono's and everyone elses advice and filed with everyone involved anyway. Thanks to everyone involved in getting the word out and being persistant I have my money back. Let me know if there is any way I can be of assistance in helping with the ongoing actions to get refunds for everyone else.

I don't know if the refund was from AD or Paypal. On Fri. 1/19, I got an email from paypal telling me that my refund was pending, and they told me to send them some additional information by mail within 20 days. On Sat. 1/20, I got another email from paypal letting me know that they received the additional information that I sent and that now my refund was completed (I never had a chance to send the additional information)! This morning 1/23 my money was back in my account (I paid with a visa debit card). Also, on my paypal account sheet it states that the transfer is from Alien Distribution! So, I'm not sure if it's from AD because of my refund request or from paypal because of my having filed a claim with them.

Ring your credit card company and ask them! The refund is very unlikely to have come from AD, and I find it a bit strange that PayPal is asking for info, and then supposedly crediting your account without getting the information it asked for. Maybe they are being besieged by requests for refunds.
Trace it back from the source - your credit card company. They are most likely to have made a chargeback to PayPal (where the payment originally went in transit to AD). It may be that AD had some money left in their PayPal account and that is being used to refund you, I suppose.
If the money is in your PayPal account now, I would remove it ASAP, to ensure that PayPal doesn't "freeze" it there.

I was just perusing the board at tmbsbbs.com concerning this matter and someone was asking for hard copies of Alien Distribution's promise to upgrade the units to 800 MHZ. I don't know if it holds up as any sort of evidence, but AD did post that promise on this AW board in the thread located here:

Just to inform all who aren't reading at the yahoo club or the other message board -- I got a computer from Alien yesterday.
Weird huh?
Not the complete package I ordered. I paid for 800 mhz, not 600, and I paid for 4 piece speakers with the sub woofer.
Other than that, it's just what I thought it would be (not necessarily a good or bad thing).
