Ditto logansdad. The banish was of a cyber-bully. Regardless of one's political leanings, cyber-bullies are identified by name-calling, aggressive posts attacking other posters, with little or no original content. They obviously have huge issues, far removed from Vendio. I am glad she is gone. The RT is now open to far more who are willing to post here. Although I am generally opposed to censorship, I wish Vendio had patrolled this board more vigilantly and would banish cyber-bullies early in their course.

I sure do agree with Pixi here. Now the more normal folks can feel comfortable posting in the round table without that nutty participant.

Does anyone remember what happened? I guess I missed it. Both she and that other guy, the supposed minister disappeared about the same time, if memory serves. He posted a racial slur and then he was gone along with his thread.

I missed THE post or posts, it wasn't on long, so I don't know if it had to do with racism or not(althought Classic "left" at that time, too)...don't know about any Dr.
I think that the "family value" righties just got so vulgar they got dumped.

Profe, it was around the end of September beginning of October.
The loud mouth also took classicrock with her. The so-called reverend, left on his own accord. "In my experience, those who do not like you fall into two categories: the stupid, and the envious. - John Wilmot, the Second Earl of Rochester
For future reference if she ever pops up on another posting forum, start a thread about any gay issue, that topic usually leads to her downfall.
It was here, the OTWA and that other board where she lasted for a few days. "In my experience, those who do not like you fall into two categories: the stupid, and the envious. - John Wilmot, the Second Earl of Rochester

Well, good riddance to the terrible three. As Dr. Phil would say, "How much fun do you think you are to live with?" The RT cannot be the only place in their lives where they're irrational and vulgar.

Obviously you are referring to Craw!!!!!!

linduh as cyber bully? Huh, never bullied me.
I thought one of her many her bad traits was not answering pertinent questions.
She could dish it out but couldn't take it.
Classic (that "nice" guy ) posted several racist statements making him garbage in my opinion.

Bear, I don't know who "craw" is but if they fit the profile of a cyber-bully, I wish they were gone. Linda didn't appear to have a life beyond ragging on people on Vendio. What a waste! If she had diverted that energy to working locally with the causes that she supported, I would have a lot more sympathy for her.

Pixia, even then, I would bet that someone with your ideals and values would not be able to muster a shred of sympathy for Linda's "causes".
The problem with Vendio's removal of Linda was that it came too late...when only four or five posters remained. I'm certainly not in favor of nickpicking moderators but when a disruption like Linda comes down the pike it's time to make a move.

I agree. They let her run off a lot of reasonable posters before finally taking action. I do think though, that little by little this board will come around.

Ya, little by very little.
Didn't you guys read Neglus's comment about how she enjoyed reading the posts here when linda was around...she found it entertaining and I think others did , too.
Too funny how some have their nose's in the air about how linda and others posted (some who even participated !) but sure ENJOYED reading it.
I enjoyed the whole thing ! It was hilarious and I bet there were more reading it then than NOW!
OK, continue pouting about how those big bad cyber bullies are controlling your lives ....LLLLLLL!

The point, Mingo is that some may enjoy reading it, just as some may enjoy reading a novel about a natural disaster. But you wouldn't want to participate in that disaster. And since this is a board where more than two or three people should be able to enjoy participating, such disruption is not welcome.
I realize that you enjoyed batting her around a bit. BTW...there is a poster on H.O.W that you might find entertaining. Poofan claims she is a Democrat but thinks much like Linda. Check it out.
posted on January 6, 2008 07:42:20 AM
My point is that the RT is entertainment as the novel is. I think it should be taken that way. If posters take everything personally then maybe this isn't the venue for them. They have an option.
I'm not disagreeing about L, it did get pretty bad sometimes(and, uh, we all did a little batting around, didn't we now)
"Obama Can't Run for prsident He's African" !!
Oh MY! I can't believe it! Who'd post such a thing !
Haven't got time to check it out right now but ....OH MY!

Linda really got in the way of real discussion. Some of us don't consider the RT entertainment, Mingo, if that means calling names and reverting to junior-high behavior. That stuff got in the way of what some of us hoped would be a serious discussion about issues. Sometimes Linda would butt into a topic totally unrelated to politics, in a confrontational, ignorant sort of way, and that was annoying.
There are ways to get your point across besides being childish. She'd have been much more effective if she'd gotten in touch with her adult side.

So, Mingo do you plan to make an effort to continue her effort to disparage and drive people away until you are left here alone laughing out loud and saying in so many words, tsk, tsk, tsk?
Criticizing good posters from Ebay Outlook should do the trick if that's your goal.

All I know mingo, is that with linda here, this place was no longer a place where anyone could have a civil discussion. She commandeered every thread and immediately began insulting the intelligence and patriotism of anybody who dared disagree with her, while at the same time shotgunned up dozens of her own copy pasted rants. Sure we all participated some. Sometimes, sometimes a little fight is fun, but I finally quit responding to her in any way as her bigotry, racism, sexism and blind allegiance to everything Bush was so profoundly deep, predictable and ignorant that there was no point in responding other than to push her buttons; which was no longer any fun because you knew exactly what she'd say next.
Good bloody riddance LindaK, and the same to that biker. If this place gets one or two interesting threads a week where people can actually discuss interesting things and agree to disagree, that's perfectly fine with me, got a ranch and a school to run in my spare time.

For pete's sakes you guys I wasn't defending L in any way!
Cool your jets ! She's gone...let her go!
Helen:"""So, Mingo do you plan to make an effort to continue her effort to disparage and drive people away until you are left here alone laughing out loud and saying in so many words, tsk, tsk, tsk? """
Did you FEEL a tsk tsk tsk? because I didn't post one.
Helen:""""Criticizing good posters from Ebay Outlook should do the trick if that's your goal."""
Helen, you have your blinders on again.....does attacking me help you forget YOUR polite discussions with L ???....
....Help you not notice what other posters are posting ???
Uhhhhh, I noticed the "good posters" from EO are able to disparage and criticize quite well themselves. One doesn't believe another poster can comment if they haven't sold on ebay...(and how would she know they did or didn't without SNOOPING?).
""""Some of us don't consider the RT entertainment, Mingo"""
Well, NEGLUS does ! So I assumed since she and I both considered it entertainment others did as well....my mistake...it's a "life or death" situation for some!!!!
Gosh, I hate controlling other's lives ...what a burden! I wonder who controls them when I'm not around ????
Apparently, after being educated by watching the TV program, CSI, jurors are holding prosecutors to a higher standard and expect forensic evidence that they might otherwise not have to produce.
posted on January 6, 2008 08:11:42 PM
Not just CSI, Forensic Files and a plethora of related programs show how difficult it is to not leave forensic traces behind. I truly believe that well-meaning eye-witnesses result in a huge number of wrongful convictions. I would hope that when DNA samples exist, they will be used to exonerate or confirm previously convicted felons at no charge.

Gosh, here I thought if you were accused you were automatically guilty. You don't mean to say there's anyone in prison who doesn't belong there do you??
Prison, like war is big business in the United states with almost 2 million people in jail...more than any country in the world. And most of those 2 million people don't belong there. Many are there because they are poor and unable to afford legal help... not guilty or allegedly guilty of non violent crimes.

One of L's many bad traits was cowardice, unable to address pertinent posts or questions...able to shoot her mouth off but too cowardly to respond to posts.
...Helen, it seems you and others plan to continue in that mode.
Mingo, while checking out some news sources I happened to see the article about CSI and I thought that it might be of some interest to a couple of people in this thread who have mentioned the TV show, CSI. And since the original topic was covered and already changed rather than start a new thread I posted it here.
Maybe I should have ignored posting that information or started a new thread. Or maybe you should start a new thread so that you can continue the discussion about your lost nemesis; your moonstruck obsession.
Since this is not your thread just stomp your widdle feet, grit your teeth and cope. Post to yourself Ming_K because I doubt that anyone else will bother. I certainly will not respond again to your effort to disrupt and your effort to follow in the footsteps of someone you can't live without.

If you talk to trial attorneys, both prosecution and defense, they will tell you that eye witnesses are the most unreliable evidence. In their effort to help, they can be easily influenced as to what occurred in what may be a split second. I know I would have trouble describing the facial features of someone I saw for a moment in a highly charged situation. If a witness is getting a subtle message that this guy is the perpetrator, that could influence their testimony. Maybe juries are coming to realize that forensics is much more reliable evidence, although only as good as the forensic specialists performing the tests. This is one very good argument against the death penalty. How many people have been executed or sit on death row based on eyewitness identification?

Again, Helen , your reading is as selective as L's...so many things you have in common!
Uh, several OTHER posters brought up L and discussed her including YOU!
Senile? Or just as vindictive as pixiie when you read something you don't like ?
Obsession? Again YOU forget YOUR long, long screaming matches with L and I would be happy to let that go too but you keep implying that I am the only one with an L problem.
