Fruscia,

Go to your link and choose one of the suggested answers. Then join their discussion. I doubt that anyone here, other than you, believes that use of the internet leads to the creation of "rude obnoxious jerks".

Answers from your site...

OMG! Yes!
WTF? No!
IDK. Whatever.
Other (explain, please).

As I said I have my opinion. I honestly don't give a rats ass if anyone else agrees.
Get it.

And for Olbermeier he is one PITA

We will never agree until the SHTF and then we will see who is right.

Fruscia, if you focus on the negative aspect of any social venue you may become a pessimist. For example, you might take a small sample such as Joe Wilson and irrationally conclude that joint sessions of Congress are always rowdy events, when in fact, during such speeches, no other living president has been subjected to such boorish behavior as that exhibited by Joe Wilson.

And in a smaller corner of the world where we may write a few words on the "internet", look for example at Ebay Outlook where sellers and buyers entertain and help each other. Right now, a cancer victim is receiving support from her friends there while she learns more about the disease there and on other internet sites. And in turn, others learn from her.

Another fellow whose dog had to be euthanized was comforted this week by members who had empathy and experience with his tragedy. Would you like to end or disrupt this good communication just because an occasional jerk passes through?

There is always the first time for everything. I don't think you can understand that he (joe wilson) and many others have concern when everytime President Obama speaks about health care he changes what he wants in the bill not from week to week but day to day. There has been approximately 100 bills presented and none are good. He first says he wants a public option, the next day he says he doesn't. Next he talks about co-ops then disregards that. Health Care is not about Democrats or Republicans. It is about the American people and it should be something that all can agree on because it will be mandatory.

Okay here are the results.

OMG Yes 60.9%

WTF No 20.8%

IDK Whatever 8.2%

Other 10.1%

I guess I am in the majority.

I did read the comments. I don't post anything I don't read first.

Holy Smokes I post my response to the original OP post and look what happens. No wonder there are not more posters in here.

Now to answer you other question. There are always people who help people that is a given but I think it is a minimum to people that do nothing. This is my observation not a scientific answer.

Helen, 'Clusterfox' is the best name ever and describes it well.

As for the topic, throughout the years whenever I've dealt with the public I've occasionally seen rude and boorish customers as well as obnoxious and disrespectful children. Those kind were always out there in society. The internet has just given them a bigger platform to show off their bad behavior to a bigger audience. They can do stupid things on a chat board until they leave in disgrace and then return as a sock and do the same thing again. Twitter and Facebook show the good and the bad. Sometimes people are going through a rough period in their personal lives and show uncharacteristic behavior, except now more people can see it if they do it online.

Holy Smokes I post my response to the original OP post and look what happens. No wonder there are not more posters in here.

Looks to me that everyone was respectful but Fruscia seems to have a difficult time tolerating the opinions of others. Especially with the comments

The best thing he can do is keep his mouth shut.

As I said I have my opinion. I honestly don't give a rats ass if anyone else agrees.
Get it.

don't you think part of the problem also is with the rate of population increase?

quote from the movie Idoicracy:

"As the 21st century began, human evolution was at a turning point. Natural selection, the process by which the strongest, the smartest, the fastest, reproduced in greater numbers than the rest, a process which had once favored the noblest traits of man, now began to favor different traits. Most science fiction of the day predicted a future that was more civilized and more intelligent. But as time went on, things seemed to be heading in the opposite direction. A dumbing down. How did this happen? Evolution does not necessarily reward intelligence. With no natural predators to thin the herd, it began to simply reward those who reproduced the most, and left the intelligent to become an endangered species."
