Everyone,

Could we please stick to discussing the topic and not our opinions of eachother.....

pacoferrone

Perhaps you should contact eBay directly for the clarification. An official response should (hopefully) provide the correct answer.

okay, pacoferrone, you just dug that hole well below 6 feet! Enough already; if you haven't figured it out by now, you won't.

nanastuff...na na na na na.........who made you HNIC?..........funny thing is that no one can explain the large differences that we all have in our feedback rating and the real amount when you click on the rating........yours may not be that high but anyone who has substantial feedback lets say 500 or more, can see a large difference.........i have not purchased from or sold to like buyers over 100 times.i know this to be a fact....a friend has a 1049 rating behind his ID and has 1165 positives overall.only 2 negs and 5 neutrals.....he sellsmostly and has had few repeat buyers......there is some truth somewhere in what i say...it may not be 10 but there is more than a repeat buyer causing your fb not to rise .........so there!

From the Feedback page
Here:
http://pages.ebay.com/services/forum/feedback.html

The Feedback Rating system is easy. You receive:

+1 point for each positive comment
0 points for each neutral comment
-1 point for each negative comment
A star icon for 10 or more comments. Click the star to see what each star color means.
You can leave multiple comments in someone's Feedback Profile, but they'll only count once. This makes the system fair. No one person can "tip the scales" in either feedback direction, positive or negative.

I am a little confused about my feedback on eBay.

It has been awhile since I've been very active on eBay. But, I watched my feedback board closely and everyone that left me feedback left me positive, that I am sure of unless I've gone crazy and my wife is not telling me.

Now, I look at my feedback says I have 5 neutrals from 5 users no longer registered.

I have gone back through me feedbacks and seen that some of the neutrals have "not registered" or something like that next to the buyers name. I saw that a couple of other neutrals did not have the "not registered" by the name.

This is very confusing to me for two reasons.
(1) I have watched my feedback board since the beginning and I was always given positives. How and/or why did they change? Or, does my wife need to sit me down and tell me the truth about my sanity.
(2) If it says "not registered" by some neutrals, why does it not say that by the others?

I am not too concerned about this but I am very curious. Does eBay automatically change banned users feedback to neutral? Because I have sold to persons who later got kicked off eBay.

Before I started reading these discussions, I had no concern about my neutrals, thinking the "no longer registered" was self explanatory. But, now I read these discussions and realize that neutrals are considered less than positive by most everyone.

Am I completely batty? Can anyone shed some light on my dilemma?

My user name of eBay is "pcalton"

ok, I have a buyer who has 3 feedbacks. I just IM'd her and asked her to leave me feedback to settle this argument. I'll come back here and let you know if my # goes up. She has never left me feedback before.

arguement settled - bidder with 3 feedbacks left me a feedback and my # went up.
Just to clarify, this bidder has 4 total feedbacks, 3 from unique users.

I know for a FACT that feedback from people with a rating under 10 counts toward the total. How do I know? Because my feedback is only currently 12...and I left plenty of feedback for other people during the first 10 of those 12, and I just loved watching their rating jump up one more number! So, there ya go!

Hehe, not so much "entertainment", but that good feeling of having done somebody a favor. The reason my feedback is so low is because many people have not bothered to do the same for me.

pacoferrone-

I don't understand your discussion
then.

What is so hard to understand that a new person registering on ebay, can receive and give feedback. They register, buy or sell an item, they receive the feedback, it goes from (0) to (1) and so forth.

Your feedback will not raise from the same buyer or seller that adds feedback, you will only raise your feedback by unique users leaving you feedback.

You may be thinking the number (10) is when you get a gold star?

This thread is just too funny!

OK, pacoferrone!

Drop the mouse NOW – and back away from the computer – slowly... slowly... keep those hands where we can see ‘em.

I think I recall seeing where you were debited one feedback per ten if your name was “Paco”. Now – I’m not saying that I agree with that – that’s just the way it is.
