I put this in another place too, but why do people pay $5.00 for money orders. Wouldn't it be easier to go to the post office to buy a money order and send it for much less than $5.00. Plus, you know that it is sent too.

Bidpay is, or should I say was an ideal service for international customers to use. Given the cost of getting a payment to the US and the time factors involved, it provided a convenience for a somewhat reasonable cost.
But now, it doesn't appear to be so convenient, given their total lack of customer care and all these glitches that are popping up.

Thanks, but it sounds like it's snowing where I'm heading. I'm not even sure I could reach a warmer climate in 2 days driving?
BTW - I remember a thread from a few months back in the Payment threaded boards on eBay.
The seller said that he had shipped an item after the second confirmation email from BidPay & that the MO was then cancelled by the high bidder.

Hi Reddeer (and) others;
We're not regulars to the boards so unless somebody points out that a thread is running we would not see it.
Now we have... and... I would like to make a couple of comments.
Firstly, our client is the buyer and we provide our services to the seller without any charge.
We never have charged and we never will.
We also have never posted a chargeback to a seller... and we never will.
We have ALWAYS issued replacements for any missing, misplaces, accidentially destroyed, stolen, forged or damaged payments.
Always.
So... now to the orders.
The buyer enters both their information (and) the seller information. They also enter the auction number, amount of payment and credit card information along with their email address and the sellers.
What happens is very simply this. If a buyer enters [email protected] when in fact the email address is [email protected] THEN THE SELLER DOES NOT GET THE NOTICE OF PAYMENT AND IT DOES NOT SHOW IN THIER ACCOUNT.
Doesn't mean the payment was not made.
Doesn't mean the payment was not sent.
Only that the seller didn't get the notice of payment.
It happens to us at least 30-40 times a day and usually either the buyer or seller contact us saying that they know the order is placed and didn't get a confirmation.
We go, find the order... correct the email address error and resend the confirmation.
This isn't a biggy for us, it happens, people make mistakes and when we're notified of them... we fix them.
We get this message at least 100 times a day.
YOU F*%&%&@! PEOPLE MADE A MISTAKE ON MY ORDER!!!
...and we write back and explain that we didn't enter the order information but would be more than happy to correct the error.
We do have software than scans for incomplete address to stop payments from being sent out that wouldn't be delivered.
We also scan for zip-mismathes (and) we also scan for address conflicts.
If the buyer enters one address but the seller is registered with us with a different address.
We actually do a fairly large amount of work with an order before processing and sending it....
If you are a registered seller with BidPay and your address is 123 Smith Street and the buyer enters 132 Smith Street (it is AUTOMATICALLY corrected) so payments are always sent to the correct address.
The exception to all this is, if the buyer doesn't enter your email address correctly then even though you are a registered seller you would not get a notice of the payment.
I am reading all these comments about drop this and cancel that...
The bottom line here is:
We have ALWAYS PAID -NEVER CHARGED BACK and don't charge any fee's.
Do we screw up sometimes, sure we do... and whenever we do
WE FIX IT!
I hope the above explanation helps you understand a little better about the order process and why notices are sometimes not received on orders.
FYI - I emailed you the URL for this thread shortly after starting it, and you were posting/promoting BidPay on another thread at the same time here on the EO, so obviously you saw this one.
You have still offered no explanation why my Country came up as USA when in fact I live in Canada.
The email I received from BidPay states:
As a registered seller, we are using the address information you provided (as below) and this ensures that any mistakes made by your buyer when entering the order are automatically corrected so that the payments are always sent to the correct address.
Yet this SNAFU was not corrected before the email was sent, nor did BidPay respond to the email I sent notifying them of this mistake on their part.
Here's what my new user sent me:
Hi neil, thanks for email. I'm so sorry about the Canada/USA, address error,
it came up on my screen and i thought i had corrected it, and then it kept
returning, USA, i thought i'd eventually corrected it, obviously i had'nt,
i,m still new to all this so hope i get the hang of it eventually. Bidpay did
in fact email me and said they had your correct address on file, and were
sending it to that address, so hopefully it has been sorted out. Just email
me when it has arrived safely. Thanks for your patience , regards xxxx
Sounds to me like you've got a bug in your system Marek? I would also suggest that if you are going to email the buyer of the MO when a mistake is made when processing an order, it would also be a good idea to CC the seller so they know what the F*%&%&@! is going on.

Hi Reddeer;
The buyer enters the order information. If you'll notice the confirmation email that goes out says: Dear X, here is an order from a buyer sending a payment to you at 123 - "if you are a registered seller and there is an error - no action is required the payment will automatically be sent to the registered address you have on file with us".
When you actually get the payment that said USA, you will notice that your address is entered correctly as Canada.
It is one of the biggest advantages of being a registered seller.
Buyer enters.
Reddeer.
123 Albert St
SmithVille, BC
A1A-1A1
We send a confirmation email showing what the buyer entered for the order information along with all their information, email address, order number and the amount of the payment being sent (and) the aforementioned notice that if there is an error in the address and you are registered NO ACTION IS REQUIRED.
Our software, then automatically corrects the error made by the buyer when placing the order and sends the payment to the correct address for the registered seller.
So... what this means is something that you thought was a problem, isn't and we took steps to correct such things before they became a problem for you.
I would like to ask that you not be so negative in your comments on the boards.
You have been a customer of BidPay for almost two years. You continue to use it, we continue to send you payments.
We have never lost a payment, you have never been short-changed by us. We ALWAYS deliver, you have never had a chargeback posted against you. We have issued replacement payments for ones that have been lost in the mail... we always send confirmation emails, you can log in and review your account online (and) loooong before) anybody else started handling international payments we were the only ones sending you those payments which you gladly accepted.
Honestly Reddeer, the glass is half full... and a lot of the comments that you are making are uncalled for considering all of the above.
Despite them (and as always) we continue to look forward to being of service.

Putting this back on page one to make it easier for others to add their problems/complaints or just general comments about BIDPAY to this thread.

Feel free to ask all you want, but the reality is, I can, and will, post anything I please, and as long as it's within the TOS of this site, there isn't didley do da you can do about it.
Now here's what BidPay sent me via email [with personal info X'd out]
Seems a tad bit different than what you just stated. Perhaps you should check out your info more closely before responding to my next post?

Ok Gomarek, perhaps you'd like to point out where exactly in that confirmation email it states:
"Dear X,here is an order from a buyer sending a payment to you at 123 - "if you are a registered seller and there is an error - no action is required the payment will automatically be sent to the registered address you have on file with us".
........................................
If you'll notice, in the initial email this was stated [by BidPay]
As a registered seller, we are using the address information you provided(as below
Well, I don't have a ZIP code, I don't live in a State, and I certainly don't live in the USA, nor did I provide such address information to BidPay.com.
So... what this means is something that you thought was a problem, isn't and we took steps to correct such things before they became a problem for you.
Yes, I did feel that was a problem, and IMO it is a problem, and so far I've seen/heard nothing from you or BidPay to help alleviate my concerns.
The point isn't about whether any of my payments have gone missing [I seldom have buyers use the service] The point is that instead of BidPay taking some responsibility for their mistakes/SNAFU's they chose to simply turn a blind eye & toot their horns about how wonderful their service is & that chargebacks CAN never happen with BidPay.
I didn't ask about chargebacks, or even mention the word chargeback.
I pointed out a legit problem with your service, & if you were truly concerned with correcting this problem, you would have posted here much sooner than you did, and perhaps even apoligized for the screw up.

Amazing that you managed to find the time to comment on digitalmaster's thread, but couldn't respond to my question, Gomarek

I just had my first customer pay with bidpay. I never got an email from them. The customer kept asking me if I heard anything and I kept answering no. He contacted bidpay several times and they told him all was fine. Today the money order showed up. Wasn't I supposed to get two emails? It's beginning to look like bidpay may have grown a little bigger than they can keep up with.

Hey Yisgood, join the club.
Yes, you should have received an email from Bidpay confirming that your customer was using their service[Money Order Confirmation Letter], then sometime later you should have received a second email confirming the MO has been mailed. [Money Order Approve Confirmation Letter]
Not to worry though, as Gomarek will no doubt point out, your buyer must have screwed up, or your email server isn't working properly.

cdnbooks: Don't quite understand your post. Clearing the cache sometimes helps if Internet Explorer shows strange results but it would not explain why I get all my email except the messages from bidpay. By the way, I registered at bidpay last night in the hope that it would help avoid this in the future and I did get the confirmation email.

I like BidPay very much, I've had about five transactions as a seller. The last one though, I received the second email stating they had sent a money order to me on the 17th, but the actual envelope just arrived, and it was postmarked the 21st! This is unusually late, so perhaps they are going through some glitches? I'm in Canada too.

I don't use BidPay, but the dates just happen to coincide with the President's day holiday here, maybe that has something to do with it?
2/17 was a Saturday, 2/19 was a holiday, still a day too long though.
Sorry, clearly yet another failed attempt at humour.
Any time eBay doesn't know what is wrong they tell you to 'clear your cache'. I was suggesting that 'clear your cache' was about the quality of bidpay's postings on this thread.

Cdnbooks: sorry I let that one get by me. But I just realized that it's good advice for paypal users. "Make sure you clear your cash."
