I can't help it. I'm snickering......

"Buyer to pay shipping and handling costs which are $14.05.
Shipment will be made by Priority Mail.

No shipments will be made outside the U.S.

Insurance or tracking is not included in the shipping and handling cost. If you are the successful bidder and desire insurance or tracking, you must contact us prior to paying. Without insurance, we cannot process a claim in the event of loss or damage."

Hee hee~!

I am wondering, is this REALLY the united states post office selling this stuff or is it someone "Claiming" to be a representative from the post office or someone else? Does anyone know for sure??? It looks questionable to me. It REALLY does! I hope someone has some info on this!

On "This American Life" (http://www.thislife.org) a few years ago they did a story about the dead letter department. There were interviews with employees. The gist of it was that eventually the department will be gone as it is too costly to afford this much customer service (my words).
These folks would find the recipients based on detective work in say a photogragh enclosed, etc.
I have a hunch that as the PO gets more privatized customer service like this will all but vanish. It was a required "bureaucratic" department.
Well, now that the bottom line is, well, the bottom line, I am not surprised to see a lot of stuff on there.
I just wonder how hard it could be to find the original owners. I mean some of it looks so corporate, I'm thinking packing slips, invoices, etc.
Anyhow. Hey...they have those...!?!?!?!

hehehe

Paloma91, this REALLY, REALLY IS the Post Office!! If you look at one of the auctions, you'll see the official USPS logo in a banner at the top of the description area. They probably make a lot more money selling stuff on eBay than they would in live auctions, simply because there's a lot more exposure. Heck, with the postage they charge, they're making a killing just on that!

Glad ya like my signature line, Capriole. The sad part is that I think it might be true!

I know what you mean about the lack of watching space--before Christmas, I had to open up an eBay ID for my mom 'cause I was the designated eBayer for my whole family. At least it makes my feedback look really good!

Did anyone see that pair of Boys Size 10 Old Navy Jeans that never arrived at my house?

I think most sellers are pretty good about labeling their packages with both a clear delivery & return address. I wonder if there is an incentive program for the USPS branches whose "found" items bring in the most money?

edited for a better word.
