timptech: you can send e-mails, but only for invoices and estimates. I don't find that useful because I want to e-mail sales receipts.

rivergrrrl: QB has all the capabilities that you asked about. I use it that way.

Regarding the limit on how many names you can have. When you create an invoice or sales receipt you can either type in the customer name directly or set up a customer account. The first way is quicker and works fine if you don't have many repeat customers. It also doesn't count toward the name limit.
