I always tell myself that this is a person to person trading place and that some folks don't have my ethic to get smack dab on it and ship immediately.
I have only given out one neg and that's because the guy was a freak, but never on shipping.
Anyhow, Eventer all your talk about warmbloods and riding, I'm off to meet a new "man" to fix up for a nice lady software manager. He's 17.2 and half dutch WB and half - get this - cleveland bay! Will be a fun few weeks! He rushes his fences and I am going to calm him down a bit. FUN! (Of course it's usually the rider, but that's up to her and her trainer!)

I don't know if these AW message board posters are typical, but I am very neutral to the seller's vantage point even though I sell. From the buyer's perspective, the only reason they bid is to get their stuff--our problems are not their problem and we can't expect them to bear our burdens--nor can they be expected to be psychic as to what unexplained problem we are having. Anyone can conjecture up a great excuse, but we aren't selling excuses.

I just had a bidder who did a BIN, paid immediately and I replied and shipped the item the next morning. Well apparently he never got my email and was rather anxious, so I had to use an alternative email to assure him that I had already done everything and not to worry.

Especially with BIN we need to be very aware of the fact we are more in competition with direct web site vendors and the typical laid back auctioneer attitudes will get us into hot water. Our cycle times have to be in line with this new reality.

I won a low-cost item and paid for it the same day with PayPal (I used a CC so there was no delay in the seller getting it). I waited so long to get it I was about ready to think he was a deadbeat seller. I finally received it, and the postmark was TEN DAYS after I paid him!!!

I was ready to leave neutral feedback right away, but I e-mailed him to ask why there was that delay. I got no answer, so 3 days later, I e-mailed him again. When I got no response to that, I left him a neutral saying the item was as described but seller waited 10 days to mail and did not respond to my e-mails. He retaliated with a neutral, saying that he didn't get my e-mails! (Strange how he got the ones that I sent about paying him!!)

I was really irritated, because I had a perfect record before he screwed it up. Maybe he's shaped up, because he was fairly new and and several neutrals and negs when I bought from him, and he hasn't had any for a while now.

Oh well, c'est la vie!!

Without eBay, I might have a real life...

Whatever happened to working things out face to face? Well okay, inbox to inbox.

Send the guy an e-mail and tell him what bugged you, then see what he has to say. You'll probably end up friends.

I really think negative feedback should be used when you can't resolve your problems otherwise.
