aramatha....Here's my 2cents worth, and after this I don't think I'll post anymore about BB.I agree with your impression of BB, all the things you say are true, the site works.But....is it a site for serious online sellers and buyers?? When I first registered there and was starting to list I was hoping it would be a viable alternative to the other bay.The first thing that sent up a red flag for me was when I found the CEO had over 300,000 auctions for his stores listed, which were showing up in the home page total items listed area. This didn't seem right to me, but when I questioned it I was yelled at and kicked off for 1 week.I'm fairly successfull selling on the other bay, soon to be at 500 FB.In the past year I've had a couple of sales over $2500 each and many, many in the $100-$400 range. If I started listing on another site I'd like to be able to tell my repeat buyers where they could see my current auctions,I want that site to be preceived as serious and ethical. When someone new goes to BB and see's a home page saying "Over 1.3 million auctions listed" only to find very few real items and 150,000 dog treat recipes, 300,000 avon samples, ect. ect. confusing BB bucks, never ending contests, and talk about uneven moderation on the chat boards....geez...say something wrong...even if your as polite as can be...and zap...posting gone....and most likely you are too. I still would like to think maybe someday it will be a site I'll want to list at, as you said it works fine. Maybe if and when the IPO goes forward CEO will take his cash and let the site evolve honestly with some integrity. This is my last word and, as always, JMHO

The point is of bringing this back up to the top Aramatha to show exactly how nice, helpful, and professional the CEO of BidBay is...NOT!
One person brings up a valid point as so many have and they are attacked.
This is a pattern from the beginning and continues today.
Edited for sarcastic NOT at the end of the first paragraph...lol

Well, the thing that this dim bulb here missed was free T-shirts and stock re Bidbay. How do I get those? I LOVE free stuff.
Some of the rest of the stuff I don't consider "red flags". I consider it getting a new business going...not easy. As for the CEO, the boards there and things said about that, I don't know. Maybe he's protecting his "baby"...can't fault that. I'm amazed that he has the courage to put himself in a position to be attacked by being so accessible. I have to admit that I do not have that kind of courage.
There does seem to be a problem, tho, with some attempting to access, resigster and list. But I have that problem everywhere now and then. I did have problems getting into Bidbay myself today. My son in law, a computer engineer, taught me there are more ways to access besides the front door. Save some click ons, banners, links, emails...many ways too numerous to mention. When all that fails, it is usually my unit. So I power off, hit options twice, power back on and there I go. I forget what you do on the puter as I am on a WebTv now.
I did discover today that if I followed a precise path (pattern) to access, it took me right in. I also found the sellers at Bidbay knowledgeable and eager to help. Those with problems might try that and free up the CEO's time to keep building Bidbay.

A CEOs lack of professionalism isn't a red flag? What bandwagon did you just fall off? The way to protect your baby is to hire a PR (heck, they're going IPO) and gain some credibilty with the people who want to do business with you. Slamming them is not the way to gain support.

well, quickdraw, they seem to be gaining support. If you set standards as to how someone must talk, act and run their business, it's gonna be darn hard to find someone to do business with.
As for professionalism, I have seen my professional son doctor, my professional attorney daughter, my professional singer daughter, my professional psychologist daughter go just as bonkers at people as my non-professional offspring....doesn't mean they weren't professionals. So I don't understand what you mean by "lack of professionalism"...especially in the online auction business
And at my age, I don't fall off bandwagons...I fall off rockers...matter of fact I suspect at times it may be permanent (re off my rocker)...haven't lost my marbles yet, tho...wanna list them at auction..great big jar...but I don't know anything about marbles...just that I have a lot
please forgive if you think I am poking fun at you cause you are so serious...I'm not...poking fun at myself...too darn old to take things so serious anymore...and I just can't stop posting cause I love this blue bouncy guy
Perhaps you are a professional business or PR person....if so then a thought comes to mind...."he has the right to criticize who has the heart to help"
better stop posting before I get booted since I am way OT and starting to resemble a chat room here...sorry, AW, I will stop
