I just checked out Epier- I sell HTF New Age Books- There were 25 books in the New Age Category-none of which had bids on them. Uh, I dont think I'd be in business very long going over there.

my first post on this issue was deleted because i was accused of "promoting"...i'm confused as to how can i state my opinion without this so-called promoting??
this "ebay alternative" is an up and coming site that will soon give ebay a run for its money.
is that statement promoting??
anyways, with the new rules that ebay is implementing on May 31st i'm sure this "ebay alternative" will get the boost it needs to sky rocket to the top of the auction sites!!
you'd have to be a total *BLEEP* not to see all the rules and changes that ebay has been implementing...pretty soon your auction will need approval before its submitted to the publics view!! the price hikes alone should have drove folks away screaming in pain and then the ban on certain items should have sent the rest off!!
i can understand the ban on porno...i mean children have access to the auctions, but to ban legitimate war relics because a choice few don't like them?? hey, did they ever stop to think that they don't have to look at them?? my first thought with those law suits was someone searched for those items on PURPOSE just to make a fuss!!
why don't we all search the auctions or better yet the entire internet for things we don't like and SUE SUE SUE!!!

I don't wan't anything to do with the type of buyer that is interested in Nazi items.
That is sure no incentive for me to move

skipp555, its really a shame that you are so narrow minded...if you wish to stay with a site that has all those restrictions and tells you what you can and cannot do, then i say epier is BETTER off WITHOUT you!!!

just because you personally don't like something is no reason to stay away from a site...you were all for ebay before they banned this stuff...ebay sells "witch" stuff and i personally don't like that but i don't judge a site by what its sellers sell...i judge a site by its rules and bans!!!

ebay is a big loser in my book...IMO.

Yes I am extremlay narrow minded when it comes to hate groups and the celebration of them.
I want to live in a socitey with rules and I expect the same from a auction venue
I agree if epiers claim to fame is a place for those who celebrate hate and racism to trade then they certainly will be better off without me

enjoy yourself!!

Skip555:

Both of my wife's parents were imprisoned (if I can use such a nice word to describe it) at Auschwitz-Birkenau from 1943 to 1945. Both grandfathers were exterminated by the Reich that you are referring to.

However, we have purchased several items that were brought home by veterans as trophies, if you will, representing the conquest over one of the worst enemies modern man has ever faced. Several of these items fall withing the categories of items banned.

Why did we buy them? As I mentioned, not only were they seized after victory, but they are also a stern reminder of a time that did exist and of atrocities that were perpetrated. We have mounted them in an album along with some other items of that time, not the least of which is a photo of one my wife's grandfather, taken upon registration at Sachsenhausen in 1942.

Get off your high horse and stop preaching about a subject you know painfully little about.

Did you sell at eBay before Nazi items were banned?

Yes I did but it was a small poriton of ebays total business had it been the bulk of what was selling at ebay I would not have stayed
My resposne here was to a post saying"Since ebay decided to act like GOD and ban any Nazi memorabilia....ePier has had an influx of new Sellers...check them out
So all the Nazi traders have moved to epier

When I went to epier I fond This poster to be correct ther is a very strong trade in Nazi memoriblia there
Very little else seems to be moving
So my observation "[i]I don't wan't anything to do with the type of buyer that is interested in Nazi items.
That is sure no incentive for me to move[i]
I would not be comfrotable selling in a venue where most of the activity is of a nature objectinable to me.

Oh, I see. It's okay as long as the buyers of Nazi goods are in the minority.

...and how do the nazi items actually "promote" hate, anyway?

Seems to me they are objects purchased by someone who either hates or doesn't hate. The ability to buy these items anywhere doesn't make anyone hate more or hate less.

There is some very childish reaoning going on.

skip555: it certainly is a shame that you enjoy your NAZI-styled ebay site...since you "claim" to enjoy being told what you can list and what you cannot list maybe you should have been imprisoned by the NAZI?

i don't know, nor do i care to know, what you sell on ebay but i will be laughing my head off when they decide to add your items to the growing list of banned items.

while i personally would not purchase any Nazi items, nor a long list of objectionable items, i prefer an auction site that will not prohibit the sale or purchase of said item by anyone...this is America and i happen to enjoy my FREEDOM to buy and sell whatever i wish.

david2001: i applaud your collection of items and i wish you and yours well...history is taught so that we don't make the same mistakes but unfortunately some people are IGNORANT!

i agree with you...to say an inanimate object "causes" hate is right up there with "my dog made me do it"...both are stupid and utterly ridiculous...toddler mentality.

vargas: of course he sold BEFORE and would still be selling there even if they hadn't banned the items!! its easy to talk AFTER the fact and say its sooooo much better now...we all know the truth.

yes epier has had an influx of sellers/buyers of Nazi material...but they buy other stuff as well...they just do it in a FRIENDLY NON-RESTRICTED place now!!

to the moderators: one last thing...after reading your beloved guidelines again i find the comments by zoomin to fall under these:

e) be obscene or contain any pornography;
f) use strong vulgar language, crude or explicit sexual references, demeaning racial or ethnic remarks, and/or hate speech;

why did zoomin not get a warning as well?? i find his/her comments towards me to be both obscene and having an explicit sexual reference!!!
