This is interesting. Both the buyer and seller are adamant about the condition of the item.

EG, is it possible that you sent her the wrong item? If you sell a lot of clothing, it could happen. I have mistakenly mixed up similar items and sent them out.

MH, I have a hard time understanding how the pictures from both you and EG can be so different. I dont see any fraying in EGs pics, and I think the fraying would show on the outside of garment if there was that much damage to begin with. Is the fraying noticable when buttoned up? I just dont get it.......

Good luck to both of you......

Its so much easier on the nervous system to just refund the customer in situations like this and not worry about "principle".

Although sometimes it is more fun to come to a public forum like this and have others agree one is dealing with a "wacko"...makes for a great story and it helps the original poster's ego!

By the way...when I looked at the photo of the three buttons the second one looked possibly frayed to me too.

I also can understand how a buyer who wants a refund would originally approach a seller with the words "it was probaby not intentional"..its called DIPLOMACY.

Posting this again on page 7, in case mhillyrd missed it on page6.

Hi MHILLYRD, welcome to AuctionWatch - I guess?

I HAVE AN IDEA:

Try to photograph the suit, as closely as possible, the way EG did in the original pictures. If you can duplicate the look, perhaps that would help substantiate your case????

Post the pictures here at AW.

yup, so true. No way would I expend an equal amount of time and energy over an equal amount, I'd refund and move on.

I do confess to enjoying a thread where 'the other side' gets to post. This is the best thread since that seller had a problem with Vrane.

I'm posting this again too, in case Mhillyrd missed my post as well:

**************************************

Now, I would REALLY like to resolve this once and for all.

MHillyrd - would you be in agreeance to let the posters on this board decide what we should do?

We can set a time limit and once everyone has voted on what we should do, that's what will be done. If the majority vote that I should refund, then a check will be in tomorrow's mail. If not, then the case will be dropped - by BOTH parties.

The voting will be on:

(1) Should I refund?

(2) If so, how much?

Her bid amount was $10.49, shipping was $5.50 for a grand total of $15.99.

I will only do this if Mhillyrd would agree to let you guys decide what we should do with this transaction.

And, only active posters can vote on this, no "new just signed up today" posters!

Got to admit...that adds a new dimension to "customer service". Customer service by vote.

You can post photos here by:

1) Putting them in whatever web space you normally use.

2) Determining the URLs to your photos.

3) Using UBB code to post them here. It's like html but with [ ] instead of < >.

Example (remove the $ signs when posting):

I would refund half of exactly what Mhillyrd paid. She paid a total 16.00, I would send her $8. This way you are meeting each other half way.

And, maybe agree not to neg each other. However, I just dont see that happening.

Just remove the *s and put your image location in between the commands and it will post.

Take a look at the FAQ at our car forum...it covers the UBB language you need to post pix here.

I don't have a web page for photos. I just use e-bay picture hosting service. So how do I get photos to here from a 3 1/2 floppy.

Executive Girl is a long (relatively) term poster here, and has a coterie of supporters who will take her side, right or wrong. Mhillyrd has just registered here today. How can she expect impartiality from this board? Taking it to a vote on this board is not a good idea.

I'll pay the $15.99 and split it between the two of them to see the cat fight continue.

LMAO!!!.... I'm sitting here in the same situation. Here I am looking for some pictures of a $10 garment and they are taking on the importance of the Zapruder film.

I hope someone forwards this tread to Andy, who was asking about Online Auction Rage.

Please note I did send photos in two e-mails. The first buttons closed just like she had them. Thes second buttons open to show the problem. The seam in the back that is coming apart also is pictured.
