Are you $hitting me??? $10.49???? Over 200 posts to this soap opera??? Sorry EG, I think you might just be a glutton for punishment. This buyer is obvioulsy not going to back down. Save face. Have her send you the item back and refund her the $15.99, re-list, and move on. You already said that you thought it would sell for more money. Fix the button hole and re-list.

Executive Girl is a long (relatively) term poster here, and has a coterie of supporters
She also has an army load of bashers, as evidenced in just about any thread she posts to.
If she's willing to trust poster honesty, why not?
BTW, mhillyrd has been registered for six months.

I dunno why all this silly voting is going on when the buyer hasn't agreed to it. She has ignored the entire proposal.

Soooo, she can just wait and see...if it goes well for her, then she can agree. Kinda makes it a pointless exercise, no?

But the point of this is not to be a popularity contest of Executive Girl. Its to find a solution to the situation. And what you've just stated only goes to further my contention that this board cannot be impartial.

I vote for 1 let her return the item refund her $15.99....Spend the time you would have spent continuing to fight this make 4 x 15.99

I agree with Amy. It strikes me as a bit silly for an apparently well-established eBay seller to ask us to vote on how she should handle a customer service issue regarding such an insignificant transaction. Regardless of how many pictures are posted, there is no way for us to ever know the truth.

Okay, you want a vote, here's mine: Refund in full. If you were taken advantage of, that will be on the buyer's conscience, not yours.

I agree that in EG's case, this board is not impartial.
I think that goes to the buyer's favor, though.
With what I've seen here, the scales do not tip in her favor. Not a popularity contest, EG would definitely lose that!
My conclusion was that it could only stand to hurt EG if posters took into account anything other than the facts.
Not ClearAsMud today, I guess!
Sorry!
(why are we all double-posting?)

Wait for the pictures to load, folks, its worth it! Buttoned the suit looks just like EG's picture. The second button hold looks fuzzy, just like in her picture (which I pointed out on page 1 and got chastised for). But look at it unbuttoned!
Not only do you owe her a refund, but a major apology!

After posting the photos which I was not sure I could do, I am more than willing to accept your proposal. If you are willing to abide by it. I fee this prove the case and makes it clear to see why this happened to me
Actually Perry carlton posted the photos for me.

A Picture is Worth A Thousand Words..

Those pictures don't lie.

No vote needed. The seller should refund both shipping and full purchase price.
If e girl wants the item back, she should pay for that postage as well.

I'm glad the bidder was invited to the thread and able to tell her side of the story. The pictures were worth the wait.

mhillyrd

I'm sorry you had to go through this. You deserve a refund and I think you should continue to pursue fraud charges.

Well, I've been following this thread from the beginning and, as a general lurker, usually find myself on EG's side of the fence. However, I do have to admit that the pictures do seem to make the case. I think a refund is in order.

Having said that, I think both parties need their patties slapped for behaving like little children.

I rule in favor of mhillyrd she's owed a full refund, plus any shipping fees to return the merchandise.

Will punitive damages be discussed in this thread or will a new one be started for that?

You're screwed. And hopefully big enough to admit when you've made a mistake. You lucked out that mhillyrd agreed to settle here and not file fraud charges.

I have to say I am shocked! I have been following this thread from the beginning and siding with EG. After seeing those pictures I have to say Mhillyrd is owed a big apology and a refund. What a great idea to have the pictures recreated.

I'm going to have to say I've changed my mind after seeing the buyer's photos.

The jacket doesn't appear to have been washed, to me, because if it had been, I would think there would be more damage than there is.

The seam is mostly what changed my mind, because even if the bidder had torn up the buttonholes purposely, I don't think the seam coming apart like that could be purposely done. It looks more like wear, to me.

But the numbers on the tag were the deciding factor for me. The numbers are the same as how EG numbered her photos in her auction, so it seems pretty safe to assume that this is the same garment as shown in the auction (versus a second garment that could be switcheroo'ed).

I vote a full refund, including shipping.

Edited to add: The numbers on the hand-written tag, not the manufacturer's sewn-in tag.

Executive Girl I have really enjoyed reading the threads you have started. On ebay you certainly meet all kinds and your threads have made me laugh, however in this case I think the buyer is right. She deserves a refund. I am not very knowledgeable about fabric but it looks like this fabric might have dry rot, so buttoning and unbuttoning caused the threads to pull out. Perhaps you are both right, when you sent the suit the threads were starting to come unraveled and when she unbuttoned it to put it on it pulled on them some more. To the buyer, it took courage to post your side, it looks to me like both of you can work this out with out negative feedback and see the others side.

I also believe a refund in full including shipping is due the buyer as well as a BIG apology. I think it is ashame what this buyer has had to go through.
