Same rules as Auctionguard. Pros/cons only.

One of the things I like is that they put the number of auctions and the number of items seperate on their home page. I wish all sites would do this so that all sites could be compared fairly.

Just posted items for 2 days and already have a bid. Tech is very helpful and friendly. Like the BidBar...it allows buyers to talk to sellers live(if they're online). Also....lots of advertising going on now, should boost traffic a great deal. Easy to use bulk-loader, type 'em in and enter. Then add pics...no image host needed, uploads from your files. Listing has never been this easy for us. Free to list and no commission fees. Can't beat it!

Happy I accepted their offer.

Rate: 2

Site is poorly designed. I checked a couple items that had bids and the start date was October, ending in February. The last site that did this is now gone. It just attracts multiple identical listings that annoyingly sit there.

How do you mean poorly designed? Do you mean that since it doesn't look like eBay it's poor? Or how?

I suppose Bidville with its 99 auto relist auction feature will keep that from happening.

Hya all!
I guess bids are bids....and the person whose item sat since Oct. is probably pretty happy. Could be a sign that things will be picking up.

My bid came pretty fast....considering I still have lots more to list. Lots of good sites out there....and I feel this is one of them. I like the design too.

Where ever you guys sell......hope it's fantastic and brings ya lots of sales!

I mean it is really cluttered. It's exhausting to the eyes. Don't get me wrong, it would look very nice if it wasn't for the clutter. Even browsing categories they have to put the start date, why? The listing page's are a mess. It is not easy for the eye to follow any flow, it has to move up and down and over, thren up and down and over again, ohh boy!

The items the person were selling that was listed since October were collectibles which can go up and down in price due to demand. If some fool bids on it in November and waits for it to end in February and still is willing to pay for it at it's now lower going rate, I'd be shocked. Auto Relists at least have shorter time frames.

I listed. I sold. The problem? They never sent an email telling me that auction was over and who my winning bidder was. I made contact with the bidder who also advised that they never made contact with him. Neither of us ever figured out how to leave feedback. We both gave up and wished each other well.

bayout,

Did you ask someone with the site about your problem, or did you just figure it wasn't worth it?

I had that problem in the beginning and I contacted their customer service. They told me it had to do with the reserve price. They have since fixed it. I bought one item and sold 2 others and received email notifications each time.

I agree with quickdraw29. I am registered there. I find it quite confusing. I will wait a couple of months and then go back and check it out.

Well, I guess since I've spoken about other auctions I should with this one too.

I don't know if I see it has confusing as much as I see them as being different. It's different than all the rest. Why? Because it's not like eBay. Most other sites try to pattern themselves off of eBay because that's what they've seen as working. Most of the concepts, ideas, page layout, etc. looks the same. I look at Lowestbids as a new challenge, something new to learn.

WoW! Their traffic has nearly tripled...advertising must be paying off. I've got more bids too! Yippee!

They still are improving, so...patience is needed while they update. Staff has been helpful and they have a great sense of humor. I've made some doozy mess-ups. LOL
But all was fixed for me.

After I browsed around and read about the features....it doesn't seem as confusing or intimidating anymore. I think I'm gonna like it. The BidBar is just too Cooool!

Have a great evening All!

Hi Webdy! I got your email and responded. Hope it got to you. WOW. The CEO of Lowestbids CALLED ME today! Amazing considering another site we all know and love has a CEO who did not return my phone call.. I am a bit confused about how the site works but I look forward to talking to the CEO and finding out tommorow. His effort to call me is a wonderful show of loyalty and I plan on placing alot of auctions there!

lowestbids?...LMAO

The owner can't even afford to pay his AW banner-ad advertising bill, so how well can they be doing?

Mark threw him off of AW several times for scamming and frauding users here, under more then a dozen user ID's.

He is back though, right HERE amongst us.

Not so blatently spamming for slowestbids, but taliking down the "reputable" auction sites now.

Pocono,

It isn't very nice to say such things without providing an avenue for folks to find out if your accusations are true. I would appreciate you posting facts to back up those accusations, so I could further investigate them. Are there any other cons or pros you have about LowestBids that you'd like to share with everyone? I am fairly knew to the whole Auction scene...but I've tried to learn what I can, when I can. I am sincere about your input!

Thanks,

Wendy, Nanabee's

Pocono,

I think the moderator should warn you against such ugly words. It isn't very productive and I personally find it offensive.

I also do not appreciate being accused of anything...so...I sure hope that above statement did not pertain to my IP. I would appreciate a response please.

Hi nanabees,
It was only a matter of time until he showed up in this thread. You should read some of his other posts in other threads. He is on a formal warning here, which by the way is one step away from suspension. It seems he likes to make up stuff about His BidBar crashing his computer. But my question is simple. I know you are over at LowestBids and you love your BidBar. I think that he has something personal about this site. I wonder what he will say when this site is number 2 next month. You watch he will continue to bash this site. The C.E.O has offered many times for him to call him directly and he has turned him down. Ask yourself why. By the way the numbers are starting to jump over there today. See you around.

Oh one more thing. How many buyers would come to a site named Highest bids. Without buyers they are no sellers.

Nanabees,
This person has accused everyone who says something good about this site as being an employee. If that is true how much are they paying you and can you get me a bunch of those banners for free. L.O.L

Snoopyone,

They're paying me a meeeelion dollars a day........well ok..........I don't work for them. I must've been wishful thinkin' about the meeelion dollars. LOL

Seriously tho folks.......I do not work for any auction site. I just do my own website and try to help the homeless with the stuff I sell on auction. I am NOT a spy/troll or whatever it's called.

C Ya!

I have deleted your post as it is inflammatory and unproductive.

Remember, you are just one post away from an AW vacation.

This forum is cleaning up good and we would like to keep it that way!

If you post an item in October and have an end date of February, what about the bidder that places a bid on your beanie baby in November? Do they have to wait three months to receive their end of auction notice? Woruldn't you think by that time they would have either forgotten they ever placed the bid or bought the item at the store?

auctionguard, I've listed some items with this site. My understanding is that you can set the item to relist until it sells or meets the reserve. So, that might be why it appears the way you see it.
